There is plenty of salt, I guess people are just keeping it to themselves. Plus there was mention of the event returning in the future, so it isn't the end of the world. :p

Have you tried looking at this topic?: https://pokemonrevolution.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=31177 From what you're describing you seem to be experiencing a ghost queue; you are still in the queue however you cannot see the window pop-up. Restarting the client a few times will fix this.

If you have already tried all the crash fixes then try running your game as an administrator. You could also try reinstalling DirectX as that has helped others who have this issue.

You're experiencing a server sided issue that happens when you aren't logged out correctly. You will be able to play again after the next server crash/ reboot.

I think there are already plans to make all >600 base stat legendaries obtainable. I guess you'll just have to be patient.
