Yes, you are right, but pikachu stater only can teach surf after gym 4, moreover you can ask for other players (who chose pika starter) for teach surf for you. Besides, whatever starter you chose will never impact to your game process :Grin: P/s: pikachu starter will meet some event about rocket (minor event - not impact to story game) and also you can beat James and Jessies Boss Level 120 without need pikachu level 100 in team.
