considering theres a thread for talonflame and clefable is more broken by far, this is completely justified.

 

1st - it can do literally everything, set stealth rock, spread status, sweep lategame, absorb status, heal bell

2nd - an extremely limited selection of checks puts major strain on teambuilding: excadrill, metagross, acid spray tentacruel, taunt gliscor, life orb gengar, and magnezone

3rd - it can bypass its checks by either running flamethrower / psyshock or simply crippling them with thunder wave

4th - its bulk allows it free switches on virtually half the metagame

5th - its ability, magic guard, nullifies hazard damage, status damage, seed damage, and weather damage, making semi- and full- stall staples complete setup bait and essentially invalidating the playstyles entirely

6th - in addition to its defensive and support utility, calm mind clef can clean effectively lategame against everything slower than hyper-offense

7th - clefable's ability also renders it immune to life orb recoil, which it can utilize to lure otherwise safe checks with an offensive set, i.e. lo ice beam vs gliscor, ohko... furthermore it has the movepool to do this: moonblast, ice beam, thunderbolt, psyshock...

8th - it is one of the most reliable stealth rock setters in the game

 

tl;dr ban clefable its way more broken than talonflame

Talonflame or Clefable is eazy to beat (Gengar,Jirachi) and anothers.

Something u forget to say is clefable and any other pokemon have 4 moves , just find counters no drama

it was supposed to be a spoof of ban talonflame because lets be real clef is way more bannable

With no access to Choice items, no Heatran to check clefable and no Clear Smog Amoonguss, it's definitely a pain to deal with it. But I guess we will have to just accept the fact that this pokemon will remain along with Talonflame because we have no Tiers or Council. There are ways to beat this mon such as Mew, Gliscor, Magnezone, Bisharp, Scizor, Tentacruel, etc. so we will just have to adapt our teams.

 

Not to mention that if Talonflame were banned, Clefable would need a ban as well because Talonflame is one of Clefable's best checks and it is on nearly everyone's team. So the best course of action would probably be to just leave them both alone or ban them both together.

Clefable can do everything but has only 4 moveslots. So it cant do everything , it just has many playable sets/uses ( and tbh a stealth rock or heal bell set can be done way better from other pokes). Also there are enough pokes to counter/match it ( jiraci , exca , metagross , tenta , gengar , togekiss ( nasty plot + flinch hax) , magnezone ,talonflame , staraptor ,snorlax , scizor ,even life orb azumarill and maybe more i cant think of now). Ofc clefa is strong atm but its no way near to require a ban from pvp... If poison jab and flash cannon tms are added soon too , things will become better for other pokes to beat it as well.

 

tl;dr doesn't need a ban.
