Hello [mention]karma94[/mention], there is sadly no second chance to encounter this specific shiny. This bug is well known and called "backpack freeze/lag"; this always happens if you run away from a lot of wild pokemon without refreshing your backpack. There is a simple fix for it; just open your backpack every 5-10 minutes once, to refresh it and if the game still freezes just wait it out; DO NOT click anything or tab out.

The Red server will be default next patch, let's just wait and hope till it's "our" turn again, maybe we are still alive by then.

[mention]Alain30[/mention], not every bug is fixed by reinstalling the client, the issue is something else. Iirc the bug happened if you dc'd in a match before, it will simply copy the other text (not entirely sure about this).
