I mean what's so bad about staff pokes I have faced a bunch of them but I still have yet to lose to one....Esp when they're here to help us and devote their free time to help everyone, why not let them have something a little special and be able to use it? If you cant beat a simple weak ass latios or a talonflame or even a serperior here's an idea. Adjust your team a bit bc you wouldn't last in a real competitive pvping system

I use teams from pro (without megas or items not in pro) on showdown and I face off vs megas and many legends and items that aren't in pro and I seem to do fine.
