This game has very nice aesthetics and I'm very pleased with the way this turned out, However unfortunately I see there is a horrible case of Grinding (not just in game but my patience as well.) Note : If you are thinking of getting this Game I'd highly suggest reading this, because this is extremely important. I have had an unfortunate experience with PRO I find that the ability to get Experience is poorly thought out, personally I haven't even gotten past Pewter City Gym. The reason behind this is that the Team thought it'd be a good idea to have Trainers (which by the way are the main way to efficiently Level Up your Pokemon.) Can't be battled again FOR 7 DAYS this wouldn't necessarily an issue and is understandable, However No one on the team thought it paramount to not have the Trainers fightable again if you lose. So requires me to play extremely carefully, unfortunately I hadn't learned this until it was already too late. So now I'm left with 2 choices A. Grind for a estimated time of a Minimum of 1 HOUR per Pokemon on my Team. B. Wait a FULL WEEK for A CHANCE to Get to an exceptionable Level. I apologize for the way I may come off as in this review but this seriously bogs down the game and I'd even go so far as to say Red and Blue on the Gameboy were better at making a fair and balanced experience that didn't shortchange people that weren't able to destroy the game out of the gate. Edit : After I've played through a bit more (Now on Badge 3.) I notice even more issues for example - Many Implementations being locked behind Badges and it not being clear when I get them (Pokestops, Trade Chats which is only unlocked after the 4th Badge, ect.) - Critical Hit Rates being way too high leading to me needing to visit the Pokecenter to an absurd degree (and making grinding ever more unfair and hard.) - Runaway Rates being way too low leading to me needing to visit the Pokecenter to an absurd amount (Yet again contributing to the unfair difficulty.) - A Sudden Unexplained Jump in Levels in both Trainers and Wild Pokemon from Route 9 to Rock Tunnel (sensing a theme here?) - Trainer Levels not being clear in Gyms (which doesn't help in trying to get an idea of how much or how little I need to grind.) - Shops don't evolve for a long time (where as in official games it'd evolve with every badge.) making it hard to get better Pokeballs, and Healing Items - Unable to switch Pokemon upon knocking the opponents Pokemon Out (This applies to NPC Battles not PVP Battles but is still an issue.) Pokemon just doesn't fit the MMO style, especially in this poorly thought out state of affairs. Im not against Grinding in an RPG but this level of Grinding is ridiculous, people can say that I'm complaining too early but if the first impressions are likely to turn me away I highly doubt that the level of improvement will increase. My rating hasn't changed and isn't likely to improve as I run through the game. It's still a 3/10.1 point

Hello @Dorade, Thanks for making a report. All opposing Substitutes currently appear this way. It is a known bug that will be addressed in the future. If you suspect something is bugged you are always welcome to make another report in the future. Best regards, Magicbounce1 point

Short story: raising the level of pokemon in some select places (like cerulean cave) to lvl 70, 80, 90 or even 100 would make training in the wild viable again while trainer tower would still be the better, faster (albeit more expensive) option. Long story: The new experience system has changed the way that we have to train our pokemon. For lower levels I think this change has been extremely positive, but training pokemon from lvl 60 to lvl 100 has become a lot harder with conventional methods. The trainer tower was designed to remedy this by offering a quicker way to train, for a price. The idea is very nice, but there's a problem here that I would like to adress (and offer a possible sollution). The difference between training in trainer tower and in the wild is huge. It's practically impossible to train a pokemon to lvl 100 in the wild now, which basically means that people are forced to pay the fee for trainer tower just to get a pokemon to lvl 100. The problem I see is that there's no real alternative. If you don't want to pay money you'll simply spend an inordinate amount of time to train a pokemon to lvl 100 compared to people who can pay the fee for trainer tower. This is important for relatively new players who just spent all of their money on a new bike and are preparing to face red and the elite 4 or players who simply don't have a lot of money to spend. The main source of income for most players are the bosses, and for that you already need lvl 100 pokemon! I'm not saying that the new exp system is too slow (or too fast). I'll leave that up for discussion in other threads. The problem is more that the difference in xp gain (for example: fighting in cerulean vs trainer tower) is too big. The way I see it, there are 2 different sollutions to make trainer tower a faster alternative option compared to regular training, instead of the 'only' way to get a pokemon to level up at higher levels: - make trainer tower harder (lower lvl pokemon) to make it less advantageous (yet still worth the costs!) to train there. This would probably make a lot of players unhappy, but it would mean that players who train in the wild are not as much at a disadvantage. or (and this is the sollution I propose): - add more higher level pokemon to the wild; for example, raising the level of pokemon in some select places (like cerulean cave) to lvl 70, 80, 90 or even 100; which would provide players with a viable alternative to train in the wild without paying a fee. I would personally prefer this option because it also adresses a lot of other concerns with people who complain that training pokemon is too hard now. It's also the easiest sollution to implement in my opinion. Both of these options would allow people to actually make a choice when they decide how (and how fast) they want to train their pokemon. Paying for trainer tower should offer the players a faster way to gain levels, but it should not be the only viable option to train. A simple raise in the level of some wild encounters would already make a huge difference in my opinion.1 point

What is the role of a Moderation Staff member? PRO's Moderation Team is a group of staff who provide support for players and ensure that PRO is kept in order. The Moderation Team make sure that users follow PRO's Rules and support players on the forum and in-game. Moderator [RECRUITMENT IS OPEN] A Moderator's primary focus is in PvP, and Chat violations. They maintain order in-game and make sure that users are following the rules. Moderators handle Reports, Appeals, and the PvP subforums. A good candidate for Moderator is someone who's an experienced member of PRO and has good knowledge in the PvP and Chat rules. Moderator is the most recruited role in PRO, it's important that Moderators would be able to put aside at least one hour per day for their duties. Trade Moderator [RECRUITMENT IS OPEN] TMods are supposed to do three main activities: dealing with reports in the Report Center, making sure the Trade subforums are all in order and that every topic is following the Trade Rules, and moderating chat channels in-game. TMods are the principal forces responsible for watching over Trade Chat in-game, but they also moderate everywhere there could be an infraction. TMods will step in if a player needs help with a general, non-role-specific issue that any staff member could address effectively. A good candidate for a Trade Moderator is someone who's an experienced member of PRO and has good knowledge in the Trade, PvP and Chat rules. Requirements Even if you don't meet the requirements, small exceptions may be made if the rest of your application is promising. (Mandatory) requirements must be met in order to apply. We are aware that the questions might looks hard or "too serious" for a voluntary/not-paid position, however it's important to know who we have in front of us when we read their applications. This because the quality of staff is reflected on the community and the greater the staff is and the better the results will be. The previous questions were telling us almost nothing and this would lead to a lot of time potentially wasted from both sides. Your application and results must remain confidential. This is not a career. When applications are open, there will be an announcement on our Discord Server and this post will be featured on the front page of the forum.1 point

After getting 8 badges and finally seeing the nature of the game I'd like to provide some feedback. The game was very fun up until the point where I had to fight the elite four. That's great. Except I learned that grinding is especially required to even get a chance at defeating the elite 4. To gain from level 50+ to 75+. I also learned that in order to reach Hoenn, a level 80 rattata was required. I'm shaking my head at this point asking why. I'm not happy with that fact because rattata is a terrible Pokemon to begin with, and it could very well take hours to even reach that point and it's not going to be fun. I feel like it's added there for the sake of it. The only thing that really diminishes my impressions of the game is the repetitive grinding. I get that it's an mmo. But this type of repetitive fighting monsters to level up and progress is the type of MMO I'd be playing in 2003. Not the type of mmos that would provide me with fun things to do that doesn't feel like I'm grinding. Don't get me wrong, I'd like the game to be hard, but not to the point where I have to farm for hours to be successful. That's not difficulty, it's time sink, and puts a mental strain on me as a player fighting geodudes for 5 hours, when I really want a chance to see more the content that the game has to offer. To get to the point, repetitive grinding is annoying and extremely boring. I would really like to see more custom content in the game that does not require me to beat the elite four, or catch 200 Pokemon. There isn't a lot, and it would really help if more options were given to us early in the story game. Finding a quest/content to do only to find that it can't be done until much later in the game is beyond frustrating. Quests where I have to defeat some boss pre elite four is nice. MMOs like World of Warcraft, GW2, and ESO added quests into the game to make the experience more enjoyable and not feel like I'm fighting the same monsters over and over to get a small amount of exp. I'm focused on the gameplay and story as I level. If you think that just because it's an mmo excuses the repetitiveness of the game then keep in mind that this concept is extremely outdated and puts a lot of frustration to casual players who have life obligations that keep them from fully experiencing the game. At this point this game feels like a full time job instead of a game that is fun enough to escape from it.1 point

I have to agree with the OP for the most part. The amount of grinding a non-member player is subject to is quite obscene. I just started PRO yesterday, played for a couple hours, and my starting Pikachu was only LV 9 by the time I called it a day. I understand that MMO's such as these should be expected to involve grinding of some sort, but the fact of the matter is that these long grinding sessions we are all subject to are not in the books for busy people with relatively little time on their hands. The reason most new MMO's no longer involve an extensive grinding process is because society has changed. People today have busy and stressful lifestyles with little down time, but during the pockets of free time they have, they want to unwind and enjoy the content of an amazing game like PRO. However, like the OP said, these lengthy grinding sessions prevent many of these fellow players from fully experiencing the game, thus decreasing interest and player retention. With all that said, you could argue that players not willing or able to put in the time required from this grinding should just not play. But instead of alienating a group of people that enjoy the same shared interest, I offer a solution. The developers can increase EXP rates by just a small factor. In this way, players with relatively smaller amounts of time with the game can still enjoy its content, though their Pokémon may be slightly under-leveled, and a certain amount of grinding is still necessary. This is just my two cents on the matter, but personally, it would encourage me and the entourage of Pokémon players in my family to be more engrossed in the game.1 point
