1. The Suggestion I would like to suggest the implementation of a "Deal or No Deal" (D.O.N.D) interaction feature within the Trade interface or chat system. Currently, trading often feels rigid. Sellers either have to set a fixed price (which might be too low/high) or ask for offers (which leads to silence or lowballs). This feature would allow a more interactive negotiation flow, allowing transparency while also giving a price navigation to potential buyers, without limiting the potential profit outcome of the seller. How it would work: A buyer sends an offer on a Pokemon/Item. The seller has a set of quick-response buttons (or chat commands) to reply to that specific offer: "Deal" (Accepts the offer/Notifies buyer to trade). "No Deal" (Rejects completely). "No Deal - We are close" (Indicates the offer is near the hidden reserve price). "No Deal - We are far" (Indicates the offer is way off). 2. How does my suggestion benefit the community? Better Price Discovery: It helps buyers and sellers find a fair market price for rare items where the value isn't always obvious. Encourages Negotiation: Many players are afraid to offer because they don't want to insult the seller. The "We are close" hint encourages them to try again slightly higher. Reduces "Offer" Spam: Instead of sellers just saying "No" repeatedly, the specific feedback ("Close" vs "Far") saves time for everyone involved. Gamification: It makes the trading experience more fun and interactive, rather than just a transaction. 3. Feasibility This should be feasible as a UI update to the existing trade chat or notification system. It does not require changing core game mechanics (like breeding or battle mechanics) but simply adds a layer of communication tools to the trade window. It could also be implemented as simple slash commands (e.g., /dond close or /dond far) if a UI button is too complex to add immediately. On forum, it will work exactly like auctions with the flow described above, which is almost familiar to an auction. 4. Strengths and Weaknesses Strengths: Speeds up negotiations. Helps sellers maximize profit without scaring away buyers. Helps buyers understand if they are wasting their time or if they have a chance. Weaknesses: Potential for Trolling: Sellers could spam "We are close" just to make buyers overpay. This can be dealt easily with the existing moderation. Mitigation: This serves as a communication aid, not a binding contract until the final "Deal" is struck, so players still need to use common sense. Conclusion This feature would add a fun, "auction-lite" dynamic to day-to-day trading and help bridge the gap between buyers and sellers who are unsure of an item's exact value. Thank you for considering this suggestion!1 point
