Hello! @Sleepingoreo! As Godpriyangshu said, you need 120 pokémon from Generation 1 catched to get acces to Love Island, and 38 evolution (from any generation). Keep in mind that you must complete a quest to unlock Love Island. You can complete your Kanto Pokédex hunting the Pokémon you need (Squirtle - In Vermilion City - Surf - Level: 13-18 // Pidgeotto - Route 12 - Land - Level: 32-34, etc), you can also buy a dex-service (1 minute lend it's enought), and you can evolve the pokémon if you haven't already.
