Can you check if you talked to the Golem after defeating the Mega-Charizard-X boss in the mountain maze and can you check if you interacted with the rock in the back-room of the underwater area? Also you should be able to go back to the forest master by interacting with the treestump with mushrooms on it.

Unfortunately its impossible to de-evolve a pokemon as there are no tools to do it as of now.
