Route 117 has wild Seedot which can have the ability "Pickpocket". Pokemon with this ability can steal a pokemons item if it makes direct contact with a move. This is what most likely happened to your item.

Did you train your Axew or battled wild pokemon with it? If you did what routes and areas did you train on?

That is intended. You need a pokemon with Rocks Smash and 220+ happiness to break the rocks on love island.

Hey, it will only try to evolve upon reaching the max amount of happiness. so you would need to faint it in a wild battle to lose some happiness and then get it to the max happiness during daytime (10:00 - 20:00 ingame time) again. Happiness evolutions dont need a level-up for the evolution, its only about reaching the max happiness during the correct ingame time.

Talk to the Slowking at Shamouti island to return to the island.

There are 4 switches total. You probably missed one as one the switches is hidden at a lower floor.

EVs always add 1 point per 4 EVs to the total stat at level 100. The lower level the pokemon the less points will be added to the total stat per EVs.

It does work. You either maxed out the happiness during the wrong time or did not faint it in a wild battle to actually lose happiness. Remember, for the evolution to trigger the pokemon has to reach the max happiness of 255 during night time, not during morning and not during day-time. Also if you fainted it in with a Knockout Drop for example you dont lose happiness like in a wild battle.
