The game is in beta, there are warnings posted everywhere that you play at your own discretion. The game, and the staff don't owe the players a thing if crashes happen. It's part of the beta process. If this is unacceptable to you, then maybe you shouldn't play, because complaining helps nobody.

It was quite simple and so much fun, they used to have the pokemon league for the games and cards. I still have my badges somewhere.

Hey! I've recently restarted on blue myself and while I enjoy training and battling I too prefer to collect! I'm a lurker so if you see me around say hii~

Haha yeah, I remember by the time the Jungle set came out we could sell a Charizard card easily for $60. There was a little chinese store at the markets that had the japanese cards, I remember when I first saw the Team Rocket Charizard card, I ran right back to the store, took money out of the till and went to buy it haha. The cards were amazing back in the day. I tried to get back into the online version, but it's just not the same, and there's far too many cards for me to even try to keep up anymore.

Red is the most established and probably most populated. Blue is the little brother server. Both are great though.

Mine would have been when I was about 10, '98 or so. I was at school and a friend was playing Red on his Gameboy. He had the poster with the 150 on it and I was so obsessed just from watching him play. I didn't have a Gameboy at the time but a friend told me about a way to emulate the games. We had the hard floppy disks and we put No$GBA onto one, and the games on another. You have to run it in MSDOS, and save and load directly from the floppy disk. I finally got my first real copy of the game with a Gameboy Colour, and I had discovered the card game at K-Mart while skipping school. I got two packets, one had a shiny Mewtwo and it was the best thing. I convinced my parents that it was going to be huge (they ran a collectible store) so they started selling/trading the cards and would host weekly tournaments. Which meant I could build any decks I wanted and compete. At the age of 11-12 my best friend Mark and I were recruited into a team "Team Scyther" which was a group of 18-21 year olds who collected and played competitively. We learned so much and actually beat them quite often. I sold my spare first set of cards to them for about $100 at that age and that was a lot of money to me. With that I got gold and silver. I honestly cherish those days, every memory. Pokemon was the biggest part of my childhood, wearing my Charizard shirt to school, seeing the first movie for Christmas, playing "2 B a Master" at tournaments and getting so pumped when I was battling. I'm now 28, have the 4 gen one starters inked on my arm and rep my love for Pokemon proudly. It's a huge part of me, I even introduced my fiance to it and she grew in love with Bulbasaur.

Mine is myself, drawn for me :P

What Windy means is it is YOUR responsibility to remain careful when making choices knowing the servers are having issues.

Hi everybody! Longtime Player from PWO here.
Daitana replied to Ihatefatshamers's topic in Player Introduction and Partings
Welcome to the future ;3 I hope you enjoy the game. I was Dait on PWO. I made a lot of client skins and Passenger Pidgey :3 -
That's a long time! Although I can't judge, It's been a good 20 years or so for myself! Welcome, dude.

I think you need 10 posts to edit your avatar. But welcome!

Servers are currently down, the status for Red is actually incorrect right now.
-
The staff are working to fix the current issue, and I am sure are very grateful for their players sticking with them during the downtime.
-
Too easily exploitable, a nice concept but there's no real way to regulate it.
-
Both are currently down, no ETA but shouldn't be too long.

Welcome! Blue > Red ;3 I'm running through a new character on Blue also, so if you see me around say hey!

Cannot login to red server even though server is online
Daitana replied to Shadow518's topic in General Support
If you're trying to login but cannot and the server is online, chances are it's full. You just need to keep trying and you'll eventually get in. Make sure the server is in fact online, sometimes the status will show it is, when it isn't. Use the PRO Chat if you need to double check. -
Trade without giving the username/password or
Daitana replied to Carlito2's topic in General Support
Never ever give any passwords to anyone. There's no reason to ever do so. Coin trading is risky, screenshot every step of the way because if they try or do scam you, they will be banned from the game. -
There is a known issue causing the servers to go down, it is being worked on and until it is fixed players are simply asked to be patient.

Hey guys, so the chat is very popular (even if mostly for the wrong reasons!) so I thought a quick guide for the basics might be helpful. How to Connect: Now the basic way to connect (and easiest, most casual way) is to simply visit: https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.bitsjoint.net/pro Pick yourself a username and hit connect. Now if you want to hang out in the chat, or even visit more regularly, getting yourself a client may be more suited to you. I suggest either; HexChat or AdiIRC Both are very good and quite simple to use. Once you have the client, to connect simply enter; Server: zeta.bitsjoint.net Port: 6667 Basic Commands: And here are some of the most basic commands that any user may want to know, casual or not. Nickname Commands: '/nick [YourNicknameHere]' Is used to change your name. ' /msg nickserv register [password] [[email protected]]' Is used to register your current nickname, replace password and email with yours respectively. '/msg nickserv identify [password]' Upon logging in this will identify that you are the owner of that nickname. Other Handy Commands: Here are some other handy commands that may interest you. '/ignore [namehere]' If someone if annoying or bothering you, simply ignore them. '/me jumps for joy' This will show is as '[Yourname] jumps for joy' Now these are probably the only ones the casual user will need, but if you're interested in learning more there are plenty of sites where you can read up. https://www.ircbeginner.com/ircinfo/ircc-commands.html https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/IRC/Instructions#Register_your_nickname.2C_identify.2C_and_enforce I hope this was helpful to at least one or two people!

They know what the issues are, they know how to fix it. You guys need to sit tight and let them do so.

The game is great, easily the best out there. People just need to be patient with the crashes and issues. The game is updated very often too.

This should be the most basic of knowledge for any Pokemon trainer.
