Administrator Shinohara Posted March 6, 2021 Administrator Share Posted March 6, 2021 INTRODUCTION As the Valentine event has been completely and entirely released, we would like to gather the feedback about this event. The reason we do this is pretty much the fact that the community's opinion has a really high value and impact on the game itself, and therefore it is important to consider it in order to understand if we are on the correct path in terms of what we are releasing. Feedback also help us to understand if what we release is liked, if it could have been better (and how) and in general to allow us to fix any potential error and keep improving the game doing even better. We would like also to clarify that the the Valentine Event is designed to be smaller than Christmas as Xmas is one of the games major events so a comparison between the two (for example for rewards but not only) would be unfair and wrong. VALENTINE'S DAY EVENT FEEDBACK In this specific case, we would like to hear your opinion on the following topics: Enjoyment Quest Difficulty Story/Lore perspective Effort/Reward Ratio We are aware that not all of you will be able to comment those for various reasons (e.g people speedrunning), however we will really appreciate if you can give your productive feedback on as many of them as you can in the most accurate way possible. FEEDBACK EXAMPLES PRODUCTIVE FEEDBACK: I didn't enjoy the Valentine's Day quest because there are several waiting times, especially during part 1 for the wedding, and during part 2 when you have to wait for Salamence. I feel like these waiting times are not necessarily justified and useful. NON-PRODUCTIVE FEEDBACK: The event sucks cause, just do better next time. Iceflake
Enjoyment honestly one of the better valentine events we had as there was so much new content + all the new event forms from the artists. Overall i Loved event 9.5/10 Quest Difficulty (1 being easy, 10 being insanely hard) honestly easiest event questline so far, i figured the salamancite quest out so fast as there wernt many tricks/hoops i had to jump through. The letter quest seemed difficult at first but once you thought about each one it became easy. The Npc escort mission where you had to escort a nidoqueen was super fun to do as well as the most difficult thing in this questline. 2/10 Story/Lore perspective Much love was put into this event story wise as it had a very nice ark of 2 pokemon loving eachother from a different species. Just shows you that you can love anyone no matter what. 10/10 Effort/Reward Ratio Salamancite and cupid's bow both are great rewards for a sudo small event like this. 7.5/10 Overall i loved this years valantines and hope the next ones are filled with just as much Love. (note didnt comment on part 1 (the 2020 part ie the wedding) since i wanted to focus on 2021)
Desumi
I did not actually complete or start this year's Valentine quest. But I did read about it in guides. However, last year I did complete the 2020 Valentine event. Compared to major events, like the summer event or christmas event. It is expected to be smaller, because it is not what I would call a "seasonal" event, but rather a one-time yearly event. Even thought I did not directly complete or do this year's valentine quest, I still find it a good addition to the game in the long haul. More content, regardless of quality or quantity, is still something that will take this game to greater heights. Enjoyment: From what I could tell, from not playing it. A solid 7/10, as its nothing that immediately caught my eye. But for a smaller event, with some interesting lore from what I could gather, it would most likely be experienced as a good event by most of the playerbase. Especially those who enjoy the "season of love" and those who also love new content in overall. Quest Difficulty: As someone who relies on guides, I would probably get myself lost for sure, regardless of the difficulity. And I did notice that it did not take long for a guide to be available on this year's event, which is a big positive thing. I'm sure many appriciated those guides, if not, they are sadly missing out on some great quality content event guides. Story/Lore perspective: As for the lore, as much as I could gather from guides. It does provide some interesting lore here and there. But I cannot go into details on them, as I have not experienced the quest myself. Effort/Reward Ratio: As for the rewards, it may be a bit on the low-end, compared to the effort it seems the players must go through. But again, that's from the perspective of just reading the guides. And its not a big seasonal event, but rather a one-time yearly event. Its expected to not reward the players with the most epic items. However, maybe the quantity could have been increased for the more uncommon items the players was awarded with. I'm sure many can agree that repeating the same event year after year without new event content (i.e quests or items) the game will become stagnent, even for the newest players at some point. And PRO has somewhat kept up the trend to continue having new and exciting content each year. Hope for a equally good or possibly better event next year too. Sk8trgod618
Enjoyment: I loved the quests, art, and story. But hunting feels like a form of punishment. Harsh Odds Ruin Everything. Quest Difficulty: Quest was perfect. 10/10. Story/Lore perspective: Awesome. 10/10. I love Nidoqueen + Jellicent lol. Effort/Reward Ratio: Quest rewards are Great! Hunting makes me want to quit. I pretty much loved EVERYTHING about the Valentines event. Except these things: 1. Event forms have been too rare for too many years. Too exclusive. Halloween was perfect at 1/50, I don't know why it had to be changed. 2. Tier 8 like Vupix-Alolan and Bagon feel like tier 9.5. 3. The Grass Patches in Dragon Neck and Nido Isle are too small for me to hunt in comfortably with my finger / joint issues. 4. Encounters, on the high end, seem to be taking longer to find 1 wild Pokemon than I've ever seen in my 5 years playing the game. 5. Repel and BMS seem to be working less and less often. 6. Ever since the xmas event, I've noticed that more Pokemon than usual, much more frequently than I've ever seen, have many of their IV's at 09 or below. 0x4 very very often. Speed 01-09 like 90% of the time. 7. Compensation for crashes should be global tier reducton of all tiers. Not an impossible World Quest where you can hunt 4 hours straight for 1 tier 8 pokemon and fail to complete WQ. These things are making me reconsider playing, lately. Everything feels impossible. I caught 500 bagon and didn't get a single epic naive sheer force, and I used bms for all 500 catches... The crashes have nothing to do with my demotivation. What kills my motivation is when odds are too harsh, And I feel like lately, the game is moving back to the old days of it taking 1250 encounters for 1 bagon in dragons den before hoenn. 1193 encounters for 1 absol in mt silver 3f with ms before hoenn. 210k spent in johto safari wet zone entries fishing with super rod for only 7 feebas before hoenn released. Last but not least, 5 months of skrelp hunting without leaving route 107 / dewford for 61 total skrelp to get my first Adaptability Skrelp before BMS existed. I thought we had moved past higher tier pokemon taking 2-10 hours to find 1 of that species, but looks like I was wrong. Hikou
Sucks that u have to do the Valentine quest to go to hunt to the komala´s place. It would be better if u can only go directly to that place without having to do those quest, since there are people like me who do not care mutch about doing those quest to get items or legendarys. Was the same with the Keldeo´s quest Enjoyment : Boring honestly, its a pain to be forced to do a quest that i don´t want to do Quest Difficulty: Don´t know , cause i really didn´t do it Story/Lore perspective: Not interested in these things, i just avoid the quest cause is pain. Effort/Reward Ratio: As i mentioned before, im not really interesting in the rewards, for me is a waste of time trying to completes those quest, i would like to avoid almost every part of the quest, so i can hunting and no more. Teerav
I'll comment on the part two, Salamencite Quest. Enjoyment Overall, I enjoyed it! The maps were not excessively long or windy, so the amount of "non-action" was limited. Recent past events involved overly complex or gigantic maps that required unnecessary travel times that made quests feel like a chore more than an event. Quest Difficulty Good balance! I am really enjoying the new approach of "same concept, but slight different for everyone." Figuring out how to get the Nidoqueen to follow you was not intuitive, but it was simple to do once you figured it out. Story/Lore perspective I guess I am not as interested in these sorts of things, but this one was really well told imo! The tasks involved added to the story line instead of feeling like a chore, which I think was very well done. Effort/Reward Ratio Part 1 gave me a randomized valentines Clefable that ended up being worthless and felt like I did it for nothing. The Salamencite was good. Nothing dramatic, but I didn't expect something dramatic. I think something event-exclusive would be better. I enjoyed past events where you would get an exclusive mount. Using those mounts / cosmetics feels good over time because you know others cant get it, adding more value overtime.
