There are certain dubs that really pull it off and I usually appreciate good dubs when I come across them but most of the time they end up being really disturbing *cough* FairyTail *cough*

Depends. I prefer to watch everything subbed so I can appreciate more the acting (or voice-acting) of the original version, and practice some hearing skill of that Language.

I used to study Japanese at university so watching anime subbed instead of dubbed is a wonderful exercise. XD

I myself prefer subtitles because here in germany the licensed dub-versions... well... they are pretty bad xD

Talking about german dub (I'm not german). I watched over 200 german dub one piece episodes and I have to say It's pretty bad (I understand around 80% of german). And it's like their changed luffy's name. I swear, in german dub they call him ruffy!

It excersizes your brain with all of the reading and I feel It's more authentic with the original voice actors
