What happened pretty quickly was bulbasaur was clearly no longer over levelled and able to power through things, and horsea jumped up to be the same level. After gym 4 was notably tougher. Gym 6 was giving me issues even after evolving horsea. I caught a magikarp and put exp share on it. The magikarp levelled very easily killing things in seafoam islands. The focus of the game was solely on Gyarados at that point forward and the game got a lot easier quickly. If I had to do it again I would evolve things right away instead of waiting, and would use exp share soley for leveling the magikarp so it could evolve into Gyarados. Johto Spoiler Gym 1 Spoiler Before: After: Gym 2 Spoiler Before: After: Gym 3 Spoiler Before: After: Gym 4 Spoiler Before: After: Gym 5 Spoiler Before: After: Gym 6 Spoiler Before: After: Gym 7 Spoiler Before: After: Gym 8 Spoiler Before: After: Feedback Spoiler Taking the experience into account from the last region this playthrough went much more quickly, almost no time was spent leveling. The focus of the team was Feraligatr. A Gengar and Abra were caught at some point to use with exp share. Exp share was still being used until about gym 6-7 however the pokemon were evolved right away. My personal conclusion is that something is different with the way exp is working with evolved pokemon. The story felt easier when evolved and harder when abstaining. Exp share helps level pokemon that are unable to themselves. However if possible I think it is better not to use it for more than one pokemon since it can cause your team to become underleveled. Jonatan575
Kanto Region: Spoiler 1st Gym Spoiler Before: After: 2nd Gym Spoiler Before: After: 3rd Gym Spoiler Before: After: 4th Gym Spoiler Before: After: 5th Gym Spoiler Before: After: 6th Gym Spoiler Before: After: 7th Gym Spoiler Before: After: 8th Gym Spoiler Before: After: Kanto Elite 4 Spoiler Before: After: Johto Region: Spoiler 1st Gym Spoiler Before: After: 2nd Gym Spoiler Before: After: 3rd Gym Spoiler Before: After: 4th Gym Spoiler Before: After: 5th Gym Spoiler Before: After: 6th Gym Spoiler Before: After: 7th Gym Spoiler Before: After: 8th Gym Spoiler Before: After: Johto Elite 4 Spoiler Before: After: Note: I retry the elite 4 multiple times till I can beat it, that's why Gyarados leveled up by 10 level. And then I took screenshot after back to New Bark Town and heal. My personal opinion about the exp system: Spoiler Exp Share, the item is really good for leveling 2 pokemon at the same time even though the exp got from an enemy is split into half to each pokemon, so not really good when you only want to focus on a single pokemon level (haven't tested with maxed lvl poke). Exp Share too is extremely useful for ev training 2 pokemon at the same time and will save a lot of time. Overall the exp share is good for training (both lvl and ev) weak pokemon (especially tank/pokemon that can't attack) without using lvling trick that take quite some time. Exp After Caught, this one may look good since you get the exp when capturing pokemon too. But I don't really think it will change anything, because most of the time when people capturing pokemon, they'll use their hunting pokemon, which will most likely at max lvl alrd. And even if it isn't it will just make hunting pokemon a bit longer because 1 more message at the end of each battle. Same Exp for evolution, I really like this idea because not only it make the pokemon easier to train by itself, it can save a lot of pokemon from accidental evolution (Where in current live server once a pokemon is evolved, it will just take forever to lvl up) and people can capture already evolved pokemon too. And then, it'll be less boring than just training the same pokemon without evolving for 90+ level. But for pokemon that doesn't evolve and legendaries this doesn't really change a thing but then another problem came. Exp Obtained On Battle, I've come to noticed that because of the base exp is grouped together, this have made exp that pokemon obtained after battle (both wild and trainer) is significantly lower than the current live server which is a big problem for leveling, even though exp needed for lvling up pre-evo and evolved is the same now, the exp obtained is too low that it overshadow it, this is more affected to pokemon that can't evolve/legendaries. It would be great if the exp from battle is raised. Because of this, leveling service will actually be harder to do because the low exp gained from battle. But on the other hand, ev service would be slightly easier to train multiple pokemons at once hence exp share. Prayforstefan
Hmm, i didnt feel any difference about char since it only reached 9 lvls before Cerulean gym as a charmeleon and i did take nugget bridge etc. Feels like it's abit harder to lvl up, cause iirc i remember that i was +30 on my main without ms/exp boost potion. But second gym done. Lets see if gyarados feels like it did with Charmeleon. (i did lose first gym battle against Misty, cause i suk)

Motsuyaky
Kanto region Spoiler GYM 1 Spoiler Before Afther GYM 2 Spoiler Before Afther GYM 3 Spoiler Before Afther GYM 4 Spoiler Before: Afther: GYM 5 Spoiler Before Afther GYM 6 Spoiler before afther GYM 7 Spoiler Before afther GYM 8 Spoiler Before afther In my kanto travel gyms were more frustrating in my way when choosing pikachu, on several occasions it was necessary to have counters for certain pokemon from gym leaders like sabrina alakasam or create a strategy for giovani's mewtwo. the exp share helps a lot when it comes to forming new teams to face the gym because it is easier to level up the new Pokémon. Johto region Spoiler GYM 1 Spoiler before afther GYM 2 Spoiler before afther GYM 3 Spoiler before afther GYM 4 Spoiler before afther GYM 5 Spoiler before afther GYM 6 Spoiler before afther GYM 7 Spoiler before afther GYM 8 Spoiler before afther The trip to Johto turned out to be easier compared to Kanto. gym battles felt even. the exp share was very helpful by increasing the lv to a trapich that I got that was key to defeating certain pokemon of the leaders. If I hadn't used the exp share, the trapich would never have evolved and become useful due to how long and complicated it would have been to adquire exp. Hoenn region Spoiler GYM 1 Spoiler before afther GYM 2 Spoiler before afther GYM 3 Spoiler before afther GYM 4 Spoiler before afther GYM 5 Spoiler before afther GYM 6 Spoiler before afther GYM 7 Spoiler before afther GYM 8 Spoiler before afther In the hoenn region it was not recommended at all to use the exp share, if I used it my pokemons had low levels compared to the trainers. Norman was the most difficult gym in the region, even carrying a poke of almost the same lv, he ended up sweeping my team more than once. That's why I chose to use a specific strategy to defeat him. the exp share was not useful in this region due to the constant lv jumps in areas, where it feels like you are always at the mercy of the trainers. If I didn't train my Gardevoir in EVs, it would have been even more difficult to complete the region. Sinnoh region Spoiler GYM 1 Spoiler before afther GYM 2 Spoiler before afther GYM 3 Spoiler before afther GYM 4 Spoiler before afther GYM 5 Spoiler before afther GYM 6 Spoiler before afther GYM 7 Spoiler before afther GYM 8 Spoiler before afther The adventure in sinnoh was the most satisfying and balanced compared to the previous regions. The lv scaling of the trainers is perfect to maintain the lv necessary to battle with the gym and feel that you are in equal conditions. If I wanted to say something negative about this journey, it would be the tediousness of coming and going from such remote places, but that is something typical of the region in the original video games. EXP SHARE GENERAL OPINION The exp share is useful during the first 4 gyms of each region of the test server, after that the lv gained from gym to gym using the exp share is lower and that is caused by the gain of the exp of the combats. To be able to correctly train in the regional leagues, it was necessary to have a good lv in the pokemons and that resulted in hours of farming the same league to achieve it. at this point i am for and against exp share. in favor because it helps too much to level pokemons with low lv and against because when using it during the adventure there comes a point where you will not be able to fight due to the lack of lv that results. speaking of the exp system, it needs a noticeable change, it is not possible that it takes too long raising pokemons to lv 80 and this was achieved thanks to the league being farmed, in a traditional way fighting high-level wild pokemons I do not want to imagine how long this would be . It is a good change the exp system in the evolutions and the exp share but it requires adjusting it in the acquisition of exp in high levels. bi: Tezkatlipoka silver server Edited September 24, 2022 by Tezkatlipoka
