why don't we just ban baton pass entirely

 

- it doesn't even work 1/4 of the time

- speedpass is still broken, even without other boosts

- it has no competitive relevance whatsoever, subpass and drypass both aren't a thing because of batonpass/uturn/vswitch mechanics on PRO

- do we really have to wait for someone to abuse speedpass to get rid of it? i'd think early gen 7 showdown ladder would be proof enough of just how broken baton pass is...

 

edit: on second thought why the hell is accuracy reduction banned, all it does is prevent Goodra from running Muddy Water... either ban sand veil / snow cloak or get rid of that rule tbh

Accuracy in PRO is bugged and doesn't work as intended. These bans are implemented to stop players abusing the moves and dragging battles out for extremely long periods of time. Without the bans, players could raise their evasiveness/ lower opponent's accuracy and turn the battle into a situation where one player is severely disadvantaged, removing any chance they might've had.

Hopefully this helps you understand the ban a little more. When accuracy and evasiveness are coded correctly, there will be an announcement in the Announcement section :p

 

[mention]idkup[/mention] this was the answer given to me when I asked that 3 months ago. But if accuracy and evasion are not working as intended, then sand veil and snow cloak are indeed buffed.

336369 The Orbs are still listed under Not Yet Coded / Not Bannable although they work; same goes for Healing Wish and Quick Claw afaik.

fixed, thanks for the help just took over this post will try to fine tune it as much as i can

 

I'd like to revise that statement. Healing Wish does not work correctly, it kills the user but doesn't heal the Pokemon that is switched in.

to everybody i will explain how make baton pass works 100% !

 

you just have to wait that your opponient choose his atk and use it after it (a kind of stall time but have to cause otherwhy it's bug) the bug happen when the other player play before you cause the game consider the moove as a simple switch and not an atk, don't know why, but that's kind of annoying (btw player who stall time are mean cause ruin totaly the baton pass team not because of skill, just because of abusing of a bug)

 

but even knowing that keep in mind that pivot moove are all bugs, just cause you have to choose the pokemon you'll switch in at the begining of the turn instead of choosing just after the moove has been used.

Move/ Ability/ Item Name: Protect, Detect

Explanation (Bugged/ Not Yet Coded): Protect prevent hazard (steal rock,..).

Description of Bug/ Not Code: When you use steal rock and your opposent protect, steal rock cant work.

How it should be: All the entry hazard are not affected by protect (sr, spikes, toxic spikes, sticky web) according to bulbapedia.

Evidence (video/ others): I can if needed, easy too test.

 

I would like to report this comment posted almost half a year ago, since entry hazards are still affected by protect which should not be the case. Also I did not see a single reply to this so that's another reason as to why I am reposting this comment.

That means banning Garchomp from pvp ranked (Yea, most players can't get an epic h.a rare)

Although I know normal Garchomp in Sand team is too powerful, if not OP; I lost a few games because my Ice Beam missed a +2 Chomp.

 

Why would banning Sand Veil Garchomp in a sand team be bad? Gothitelle with Shadow Tag is banned because it's seen as too OP, so I don't see why this is different from that. I know that it's good strategy, but if Sand Veil Chomp in a sandstorm is allowed, accuracy and evasion moves should also be allowed IMO.

 

Garchomp is one of the most common Pokemon used in PVP, so is sand stream Tyranitar. Combining the two makes Garchomp very dangerous as it already has amazing stats combined with a not correctly working evasion stat making it even worse. When an evasion boost on Garchomp is allowed, it should also be allowed on other Poké's in my opinion. Especially since Garchomp already is one of the strongest Pokémon allowed in PVP.

accuracy drops aren't "broken" either, you're banning them because they are uncompetitive. Sand Veil and Snow Cloak are in the same vein.

meh i just hate sandveil, since pros rng is broken to the max and that ability can just straight up make or break a game completly
