Yea, the negative effect doesn't work. Actually this should be a known issue. Pretty sure it's been mentioned but i guess people forgot or overlooked it like so many other bugs. But yea, it was supposed to be a double-edged sword for machamp to balance out 100% accuracy Dynamicpunch, so that you could always hit will-o-wisp for example.

Ok. Tymerod's statement explains it pretty clearly i think. I wanna know what's going on with this. Edit: Prehax don't answer this.

Yea, i noticed this as well. Pretty sure it should work the following turn if the opponent switches out.

Raising awareness of issues is not the same as asking for a suggestion or bug report. And i have already personally reported both :D I'm talking priority of issues. Anything related to suggestions is related to priority of issues. If you choose to implement something you take time that could have used to implement something else. This should be basic knowledge and is completely on topic. Have a good day :)

I don't think those few games can remotely compare with the fact that people are getting their turned skipped from stuff like hazard and recoil death. Or when both pokemon die at the same turn an extra turn will pass causing stuff like burn, sandstorm, speed boost to trigger. I'm talking priority of issues.

Advantage to a particular staff member was an example. That may or may not be true and it isn't the general point but it could be included in the rulemaking process. As i said, the decision to go with smogon rules and not ban stuff like Shadow Tag makes no sense but it would be bad for the staff member with the epic shiny gothitelle. Although you say no rules were made on this, there is rules regarding staff member pokemons that give them an advantage. It's another discussion and i don't care about that half as much as this since they aren't using Uber legendary pokemons (again with influence from smogon).

I guess we have very different views on what is defined as "rare" then. I have played PvP since season one and this has happened to me twice. And with the new meta with life orb the chance of it happening are now even less.

I'm talking about the rare event of blissey and starmie vs blissey and starmie and the tie button. Nothing about Stealth Rock
-
Just because you personally think the staff are "good enough" it doesn't really change my view in any way what so ever Prehax. And yes i believe there are flaws like the example i just gave.
-
Yea, i'm aware of all this. Ok. I'm not sure just who these members are but i don't think the staff members know more about PvP than the community. It makes sense to use Smogon's ruleset but whenever it's decided not to use a specific rule for whatever reason, i believe the more experienced players should decide this (which is also how smogon decides their rules) so we, for example, don't have some staff member with a Shiny epic Gothitelle making the rules for his own good.

A rare event. Sounds like a good idea although it should be lower on the priority list imo. I Don't know how much it takes to make it. Only Shane knows
-
Hey Alaris. Can you tell me who decides these PvP rules/clauses?
-
Finally something useful to spend my coins on. You have helmet as well? I should have enough but else gief discount. PS: If i find out it's consumable i'm gonna find you and strangle you.

You're definitely not the only one. I hadn't used any sleeping moves for ages but once i started using i forgot some times as well. I just disconnect too if it happens. Hopefully people aren't getting banned if they disconnect after their mistake. We're only human after all.
-
Didn't quite catch it. Are you dying?
-
Ye. This is the most crucial bug in PRO PvP atm imo. It's even worse when it happens with hazards. And since this can't just be banned away it should be on top of the priority list.
-
We could use a new Excavation Guide thread.
-
Because they like to play PvP while being in the PRO environment? Lol dude.

I agree. It's definitely a huge and important decision for the PvP environment. As Coop33 mentioned, the current system favors stall when it comes to scouting the opponent's team because of bulky pokemon like hippowdon using whirlwind. When playing an aggressive team you often can't afford to just switch whenever you're in a bad spot (in contrast to sending in Blissey on whatever special attacker comes out) and you wouldn't know that you could be put in this particular situation (unless you know the enemy player's team before hand) when you first made a specific decision, which makes it very punishing to make these "blind plays". Generally you will see that in PRO PvP, a lot of people won't be making any predicts on the first attacks (unless they know the opponent's team from earlier battles or other sources) and tend to make the obvious play, unless they can afford not to (like Conkeldurr using Knock Off on Tyranitar, expecting some ghost pokemon, since it probably wont do much back even if he stayed in). This means that there will often be a number of free (to a degree) switch-ins you can make until more of the team is revealed. This seems to favor the team that has the easiest time switching to a counter like Skarmory or Blissey which can ruin the game plan of the aggressive team since they didn't have the prior knowledge to predict a skarmory switch-in and making a double switch resulting in the enemy team getting up Stealth Rock for free for example. If there was team preview it would be mind games from turn 1 which seems like how it should be. If team preview is made however, there should also be the option to choose which pokemon you wanna lead with.

I think it's a great idea. There are obviously all the failed pokemons like Clefables without Moonblast but then there are pokemon like Roserade. The problem is that Roserade has so many pre-evo moves that you just can't afford to change your mind. I have Toxic Spikes on a Roserade and i wanted to try Spikes (egg move) but i wouldn't be able to get back Toxic Spikes if decided to try it so i don't change it. Can't get Aromatheraphy anymore either. The list goes on. It would definitely be nice to not have to worry about these restrictions.
