  1. I don't see any counters that stops it from doing its job. And you don't mention anything specific when you say good enough counters. But let's just agree to disagree. My original comment was in relation to making a baton pass clause with no discussion while there is obviously plenty of discussion about Shadow Tag.
  2. This has already been discussed numerous times and it's clear that Magnezone being able to trap only steel types are much more of a niche than gothitelle. Dugtrio has terrible stats other than speed and is a huge disadvantage to a team if there is no key targets it can kill which is also why Smogon has not banned it. Again, everything else in regards to counterplay among others against Shadow Tag has already been said. If you personally like a game where it's an unwritten rule that we start the game with safely removing pokemon from the opponent's team without him having any interactive counterplay is fun, feel free to. A lot of people including myself do not think this is either balanced or fun. I'm pretty sure evasion works now though. I'm sure it's not simple for all moves. Like U-turn for example. However, I think a lot of moves and abilities are quite simple to make and considering updates in the past it should be able to be done faster than what little progress there has been for a while.
  3. Not sure what you mean by "all the pokemons". There are just Gothitelle and Wobbuffet with Shadow Tag in PRO and Arena Trap doesn't work in PRO and is also not banned in OU on Smogon. I'd take making Shadow Tag pokemon useless over destroying fundamental game mechanics in the entire meta any day. Considering PRO's mostly stall meta and the lack of offensive items, Gothitelle is also a bigger threat than on Smogon aside from possible Choice item/trick shenanigans and you cannot even prepare for it since there is no team preview. You talk about PRO players just being concerned about getting to +6 with calm mind and sweeping a team. This was exactly why i mentioned the case with the Starmie. To illustrate that this is not the only thing it can do effectively. The rest of the reasons have already been brought up. Also, this was in relation to the staff saying that they are mostly following Smogon's rules. There have been countless of posts regarding Shadow Tag and not a single post on the new Baton Pass rule or any discussions. Still they just ban it with one line linking to Smogon which in the same way is not the same environment as PRO, as you brought up yourself, especially considering the lack of various items, moves and abilities abused with it.
  4. Thanks for the compilation Daen. I don't see anything wrong in what you wrote. You basically listed all the points. Another thing. It's important that people understand just how powerful this effect is and how little Gothitelle needs to do in order for the opponent's team to fall apart. I was always suprised that not more people were using Gothitelle, but maybe they just don't like using it. I know i don't. Something as simple as safely removing a defensive Starmie with rapid spin while following up with a load of entry hazards alone can completely ruin a team with close to no effort. This pokemon does not have to 1v6 the opponent's team to be highly effective.
  5. Sure, if they ban Shadow Tag as well.

  13. Blaziken took 25% damage from stealth rock which should not be the case since the fighting type rock resistance should negate the fire type weakness resulting in the usual neutral 12.5% I don't know if it's a normal bug for all fighting types but at least it was easy to notice on Blaziken.
  14. As the title implies i'm selling my Gliscor which i had much success with on the ranked PvP ladder. Some rules: 1. Now on 48H auction 2. I can remove my pokemon from the auction if i don't find any offer i like or decide otherwise. 3. Minimum +50k from previous BO. BO: 750k SOLD to Onostra 750k.
  15. Don't forget ggwp Talonflame
  16. So there is this bug where you for example get poisoned and then you will take poison damage and THEN lum berry will activate and remove the effect. Of course it should remove the effect immediately. It's a pretty old bug i think and i thought it was posted somewhere already. Is this being worked on?
  17. Soo uh. Magnezone is in fact a weak version of shadow tag because it functions the EXACT SAME WAY. It only traps steel types however, which is why its a weaker version. Whereas shadow tag traps all pokes period. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out.. Looks like you can't read or understand what you're writing yourself. Indeed it doesn't take a genius to figure it out. Guess you're not in that category though.
  18. That's actually a pretty fair argument as I see most people complaining about shadow tag instead. However calm mind isn't banned in PRO. Shadow Tag is banned in literally almost every other Serious Pokemon PVP community, as well as swagger. Yet neither are banned in PRO. Calm mind is fine. Banning it would weaken too many pokemons. Try to think outside of the box. If a rule can be "shadow tag is banned" the rule could also be "pokemons with a trapping ability arent allowed to run boosting moves" dont spread false informations. Arena trap is not coded therefore noone is using dugtrio. If magnezone with magnet pull is very specific, gothitelle with shadow tag is too. The amount of pokemons it can trap is limited by its own stats and typing! Magnezone has a weaker version of shadow tag because it already has the best defensive typing. And the no-brain thing is because of calm mind. Calm mind makes Rest a reliable recovery because at +2 gothitelle doesnt care about the 2 sleep turns. So gothitelle gets to +6, than uses rest, waits 2 turns, kills the other pokemon while remaining 95% hp. gothitelle with chestorest and taunt does the same job as calm mind gothitelle (against haze milotic, calm mind slowbro or once it works unaware clefable even better) but will never be able to sweep a complete team. Imo that state would be comparable to magnezone's which is completely fine. I'm not spreading any false information. I'm talking about various pokemon communities. And Dugtrio is not considered a powerful pokemon. And how is Steel only as specific as anything but ghost? Lol. Limited by it's own stat and typing? So? So you think it's fine because it cannot brainlessly 1 on 1 a Crawdaunt. Your point proves nothing. And claiming that Magnezone has a weak Shadow Tag because of its typing is pure [Profanity edited out by Pixiu. Please be sure to watch the language]. Unless you got evidence that you worked for Game Freak when they made the ability your allegation is empty air.
  19. the mechanic is the same as magnet pull or arena trap. The problem with Gothitelle isnt shadow tag its calm mind. Yes the mechanic is similar but it's not the same. No one is using Arena Trap because there is no good pokemon with that move. It doesn't trap flying/levitate users either. Magnet Pull is the same mechanic in a way and is very powerful and also very used. However it's for 1 type and it's pretty much the reason anyone uses Magnezone. It's very specific unlike Gothitelle who brainlessly destroys anything lacking damage and sometimes the rest of the team after that.
  20. Of course it should be announced. As it is currently it feels like the staff doesn't take PvP seriously. So what if people rush before the end? Why is that a bad thing again?
  21. They should just ban Shadow Tag already. There is a reason why it's banned in other pokemon communities. And in PRO you don't even know your opponent's team before battle start unless you specifically know the player.

    PVP Season Ended?

Honestly i don't understand why no one gets informed about a season ending soon
  23. I actually thought this was fixed since the bug is so old but i haven't been using my Roserade for maybe half a year so i didn't really see the situation anymore. Anyway, as the title says. Currently Toxic Spikes get absorbed by levitating poison types. It happened against a Gengar and i assume the same is the case for Weezing. If there was any doubt whether this is a bug you can check Bulbapedia
  24. Oh so you do like getting something for nothing but you're mad you don't get even more for nothing? I see. There is nothing wrong with adressing an issue with a new system. If everyone had your attitude towards any new implementations we would never get any valid feedback.
  25. Is there gonna be a hotfix for this thing soon? It's beyond frustrating. All games i won 2 days straight lead to a disconnect. I just want a Toxic Orb but it's impossible. Please don't fix this after a month or something, we need a solution now. It's close to unplayable when you want the coins for something like this...
