  1. I vote for Shadow Tag to be banned. Incoming wall of text, read at your own risk! Gothitelle is capable of eliminating a large amount of pokemon sets from the game without any form of counterplay what so ever aside from not including this pool of pokemon sets in your teams. It heavily restricts teambuilding in an unhealthy way because you can't make up for a weakness to Gothitelle. There is no help to get from the other pokemons in your team because you can't switch to your counters. Many say Talonflame restricts team building the same way but this isn't remotely true at all because if you have a pokemon weak to Talonflame you can always get help from the rest of your pokemon slots with Stealth Rock support and resists. I personally used Stealth Rock and Lanturn as a pivot on a hyper offensive team including 3 pokemon otherwise getting completely destroyed by Talonflame. Still it wasn't a problem because i could support these pokemon. This is just not the case for Shadow Tag. People say that it can only remove a few walls like Blissey which is simply not true. You might have a Gothitelle with bad IVs which lowers the list of things you can take out or maybe you are just underestimating the pokemon or playing it wrong but if you think this pokemon is only capable of very specific trapping you are wrong. Gothitelle can take advantage of a large variety of pokemon sets and also abuse its typing's resistances to increase the list of targets. I played a hyper offense team with an Overheat infernape once. I happened to knock out a pokemon with Overheat. Afterwards Gothitelle trapped and eliminated my Infernape. Last time i checked, Overheat Infernape wasn't a wall (some guy even came with ridicilous comments like i should just use Taunt on all my pokemon Gothitelle could beat with or without support like stat drops from the Overheat. Nice team building!). Of course this example is also true for any users of Draco Meteor. They can instantly become trapped and setup bait and there is nothing the opponent can do. Now there is a lot of ways this pokemon can be further abused and some has been done and some has not yet.. The true power of Gothitelle is that you can design your team around taking advantage of everything Gothitelle removes. This means that you can use a rain team, for example, with more special attackers than you would normally use (soon featuring Choice Specs!) because you know that you can just remove a list of counters including Blissey that otherwise could wall your team (because you designed it this way). Even if the enemy knows you have Gothitelle and tries to switch in and out you only have to get a single prediction right and it's over. This takes pretty much no skill. It's the same as flipping a coin and every time you lose you can flip again until you get it right and when you do there is no re-flipping for the opponent. Another example is hazards teams. You can setup hazards and maybe they bring in a Starmie (which is a very common spinner) to use rapid spin. You can then trap it, knock it out and proceed to drown your opponent in hazards with your Stealth rock+Spikes Skarmory for example, while using a team that forces more switches without any resistance from the opponent. Many claim that you can just use Life Orb on your Starmie and then Gothitelle can't setup. This is also not true. I actually thought myself that Starmie with Life Orb could win but I personally tested this on showdown and assuming the full IVs, Gothitelle won against the Life Orb starmie, even with Hydro Pump ,which by the way pretty much no one uses on their Starmie because it's not fun to lose to RNG in a system where you can gain 1 rating (this is not an exaggerration) or lose like 30  The ways this pokemon can be abused goes on and on. You can use screens so Gothitelle can now setup on an even bigger list of pokemon than before. You can use Memento and drop the stats of a key threat while proceeding to setup and eliminate this as well, opening the door for the rest of your team. And all of this is just the trapping of a pokemon which is the main strenght and why you use it. Many may think that the power of Gothitelle is getting a +6 spatk/+6 spdef physically invested slow calm mind sweeper and believe that it is this aspect that is the power of Gothitelle which is not the case. Yes the sweeping can be countered with your Weavile or Bisharp but it is simply icing on the cake for Gothitelle if it can get away with more after eliminating a target. If it has taken out the key component of the enemy team it has done its job. If you have no counters in your team for this slow sweeper(or you did have them in your team but they just got taken out) then it can proceed to sweep or do heavy damage to even more members of your team. And if you do have counters? Guess what, he can just switch to his counter if he sees another target to trap later (because he obviously has a counter to the common and well known revenge killers like Weavile and Bisharp in his team with Gothitelle). For players knowing what double switches are you also cannot predict a switch-out of Gothitelle and switch yourself to gain momentum this way, which also makes you completely predictable for that turn since you have to stay in, essentially giving your Bisharp's counter a free turn (it could be a Hippowdon switching in and setting up Stealth Rock or a Poliwrath getting a free Circle Throw/Scald). EDIT: People spending a lot of time to get a pokemon shouldn't be an argument when it comes to balance. Most players knew fully well that Shadow Tag could be banned any day, just like i knew that my Blaziken with Baton Pass and Swords Dance could be banned any day and it did. Still i didn't go to forums and complain about how unfair it is when i spent time and money to get Blaziken and use this combo to give boosts to another pokemon. It's my own fault entirely. Taking all these factors and some i might have missed into account i see it as unhealthy for the metagame and believe it should be banned.
  2. No problem. Good luck :y:
  3. Not sure if it's worth it. If they switch out to Magnezone immediately, you can set up stealth rock and toxic spikes for example before you die. Then it becomes a game where you have to prevent the opponent from removing them. In that case you would probably use it with Jellicent since its Ghost type can block Rapid Spin. There is also the option to keep up tempo where you put your opponent in a situation where he can rapid spin but then you setup swords dance or dragon dance to punish him for example. It could be an offensive team where you can use a gengar to dodge a rapid spin in a pinch while keeping up the momentum. It can be hard without knowing the opponent's team though but it's possible.
  4. Forretress is a pokemon that is capable of setting all hazards bar sticky web while also being able to rapid spin. Often overlooked is its ability to use a slow Volt Switch move to bring in fragile teammates like gengar safely. I've used it myself to good success. It's a great pokemon when it comes to fitting all these things on one pokemon. The closest to the same is probably Donphan that brings rapid spin and stealth rock but it doesn't have the slow Volt Switch support or other hazard options. However, Magnezone is a thing, which means Forretress often just get eliminated from the game since it will get trapped by Magnezone's ability Magnet Pull. This is the prime reason it's not used as much and also the reason i stopped using it myself. For Forretress to make a larger presence in PvP it would take a substantially change in the meta game where magnezone isn't used as much, which i don't see happening any time soon. Especially after the next patch where choice scarf/specs will come. The biggest chance Forretress has to shine independently is if the item Shed Shell gets coded since it allows forretress to avoid being trapped. Else you can try with much effort to predict and trap the Magnezone with your own Magnezone or the upcoming Dugtrio.
  5. First of all, to me, there is a difference between using an epic Talonflame and an epic (or non-epic for that matter) Latios and i believe there should be an option in the poll that differentiates between, for example, a staff Latios and a Staff Talonflame. No players have the option to use a latios that could otherwise be powerful in the meta. People can prepare for Talonflame. But something like Latios using Draco Meteor and Psyshocking Blissey while also being a potential defogger (and definitely the best in PRO by far) that breaks meta is really not fun for the players taking competitive PvP very seriously since they don't have the options. And regarding not having the same options. This also applies to pseudo non-obtainable pokemon like Correct nature, high IVs, hidden ability, hidden power fire Serperior. It's not possible to get this pokemon in a reasonable time so don't say players can obtain it. It even requires ms active every time you want to battle Bugsy. I believe staff members shouldn't feel like they are getting attacked when competitive players play in a system where they can get 1 rating and lose 40 rating and they then get decimated by a random Latios coming out of nowhere from a second dimension, making them feel helpless, unprepared without having the option to use it themselves. We're talking ranked gaming. I haven't met a single player yet who's been upset that staff members simply have one of these staff pokes in their possession. If some players are only using their vote to get personal revenge on a staff member it's definitely pathetic though. I don't think it's fair to accuse players taking competition seriously for hating / not respecting staff members when they feel like they aren't on equal terms with other players in terms of options for using powerful pokemon. I don't mind staff using their pokemon in non-ranked battles where they fight some friends for example. Seems kind of ridicilous to ban this to me. Of course, tournaments technically aren't ranked so in official tournaments the same rules should apply as in ranked. Then it should up to unofficial tournament organizers to decide their opinion on this. TL:DR: With no option in the poll to differentiate between an epic unobtainable Latios (or pseudo-unobtainable like the Serperior i talked about) and an epic obtainable (the pokemon itself not counting perfect IVs) Talonflame: * I vote no, but I don't mind staff using edited pokemon in non ranked battle.
  6. good to see that others realize that top 25 should mean the best 25 players of the server and not the best 7 with up to 4 accounts. Hope u dont get bashed like others suggesting this before (also pvp limited to 1 Account prevents that a single player can farm up to 2k points for a single guild or prevents that high ranked players can farm points from mid ranked players to secure their spot in top 25 and additionally makes boosting harder) Well as long as it's not impossible to play PvP on another account because you wanna play other (potentially less competitive) teams while still being able to try-hard on your main account as well. I've played a lot of stuff that i know couldn't compete with some of my other teams but i play them for fun (although Gothitelle often ruins this atm), which is what PvP should also be about. I used to do it on just one account so i dumped my rating since i wanted to play these teams. It excluded me from competing and people commented that i should just create another account, which i hadn't done since i didn't feel like progressing on a new account all over again. In the end i liked to compete as well so i made another account.
  7. Gothitelle trapped and setup on my Infernape after i used Overheat. Last time i checked, Overheat Infernape wasn't a wall. if you use taunt with infernape maybe the gothitelle wasn't buffed with calm mind or restored hp with rest ;) So you're basically saying it's my own fault for not bringing taunt on an offensive Infernape ;) gotcha. Nice team building freedom.

  9. Ok, so you are telling me that you know what i think while also telling me that there is no way i understood your point of view and that it doesn't make sense to talk about differences and fairness while ignoring my example that explained questions you proceeded to ask next, while thinking i represent the entire community of red server and furthermore saying what everyone's opinion is and that most would agree with you and everyone else are just stubborn. You seem to be quite full of yourself so i don't really think this can be called a discussion anymore. I think we're just gonna stop it here ok?
  10. If you didn't want feedback on your suggestion to make all PvP clothes available to everyone you shouldn't have suggested it. You make a suggestion that a lot of people would be upset about so you should be prepared for people to disagree with this (again, as in the past). Whether you choose to write "weak" in front of it or not. Regarding other suggestions; rescaling coin value for the different ladder positions doesn't really make much of a difference to the issue of coins not being unique. Titles, ranks etc. have already been suggested before, Shane even wrote it himself but the fact is just that Shane hasn't coded it. Separating the servers' timelines compared to eachother seems highly questionable to me. So if you happened to start on Red server instead of Yellow after all these seasons and stuff like 2015 halloween pokemon had passed you now hear that if you had started on Yellow server you could now repeat everything that is in the past on Red. It doesn't really seem fair to new players on the other servers to me. "If only i had just chosen Yellow at the same time that i chose the old Red server i could have had an OT Fennekin or the first season PvP rewards".
  11. These clothes were created to be assigned to the top 25 of a specific season. If everyone could just buy them they wouldn't be unique and wouldn't represent the specific seasons anymore. It doesn't really matter what the server is. If you joined red server later on you wouldn't have been able to get them either. What's next? You want everyone to be able to buy a copy of Mestrepokemon's Suicune as well because you couldn't participate? Let it go. Also, this change should never be made just because people have too many coins. It's a lame excuse to try and get this change done. The uniqueness of these clothes were already discussed in the past, when the PvP Coin Master first got implemented, in the thread below among others. The Coin Master thread: https://pokemonrevolution.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=39794&hilit=pvp+clothes
  12. Alright, so it happened to me again and i managed to hit the print screen button just before message faded out xD Afterwards the Toxic Spikes were gone. Edit: There was also Stealth Rock on his field (just for info in case of reproduction attempts).
  13. As the title implies, the move Rest is bugged in PRO. Currently i experienced people using Rest on a pokemon at 100% hp to either pp stall or/and cure status. According to Bulbapedia it says you can't use it at full hp. This was written at Gen 1 and i didn't see any changes in those rules on the page. I decided to test on showdown just to make sure. The move does indeed fail on showdown if, say a paralyzed pokemon, try to use Rest at full hp. Relevant link: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Rest_(move)

  15. When are we getting an answer to this?? The Shadow Tag situation is worse than ever in the game since more people realized it's broken and people began to farm it. The topic was brought up amongst staff again, the general consensus is that it goth while powerful in certain aspects has a similar win-rate to other top tier pokemon. No matter the decision we will make certain groups of players unhappy. Ex. remove goth= potentially welcomes more stall teams and klefki's. This is not a fact but a reasonable assumption. We do have some top pvper's amongst us and this is out current decision. The decision will be readdressed as needed. We have other tools in hazards, stallbreakers, wallbreakers and the "new" Life Orb against stall. Just to make sure the line above isn't just thin air based on nothing, I've personally defeated the hardest stall teams using some of these tools, including in the latest legendary tournament against boszyang14 who won the tournament (since i forgot the OT rule for a moment and only brought 2 instead of 3 OT pokemon in game 3 resulting in me being disqualified even though i won the game) and this was in the old meta where Life Orb wasn't even available/allowed. I can see your point with Klefki and i thank you for finally giving some specific answers as to what makes you make these decisions. Regarding Klefki and the dual screen strategies. I agree that there aren't many other tools available in PRO and that using brick break just to try to counter this specific strategy isn't enough. I have an idea. Defog TM. Defog is also a tool that keeps dual screen strategies in check on showdown and is a multi-purpose move since it also removes hazards (which is usually the main reason for using it) meaning that it's not awkward to fit on a team. There are currently only 3 "viable" defoggers in the game (imo). Scizor, which is the most used (in my experience) but gets punished heavily by magnezone and isn't seen as much because of this. Mandibuzz which is passive because there is no Foul Play in the game, and Crobat which is generally considered a weaker pokemon (still viable). Defog TM would allow a wider pool of pokemon with defog including Mew, Empoleon, Togekiss, Flygon, Salamence, and Skarmory among others. I suggest implementing this so there isn't a need to use an easy no-brain counter that has no counterplays other than forcing you to exclude a large pool of pokemon from your PvP teams and ruins the fundamental switch mechanics of the game while also not being fun at all.

  18. I took this from Gambilicious on Discord and posted because it wasn't in the thread. Besides, many use this thread and not the wiki. I don't think anyone cares about "credits" to something that wasn't shared. You could have posted it here yourself if you had the information all along. It is actually in the wiki cuz of me :3 and I pm'd Shamac already about it btt: so this is not offtopic; NPC is in Vermilion City Again, i'm not talking about a wiki.. I'm talking about the information not being in this thread until now whether you PM'd him or not. Several people believed it wasn't in the game because it wasn't listed here and since they can't read yours or Shamac's mind (if you PM'd him) and use this thread as their source of information they benefit from me posting it here.
  19. credits to me for that screen ty the Tutor is on the Wiki -> Move Tutors I took this from Gambilicious on Discord and posted because it wasn't in the thread. 20. Re: Epic Gliscor - Careful H.A. <t>Bump.</t>
  21. Seems like Pain Split isn't on the list. It's in the pokemon tower 6F as you can see.
  22. It's available but it's bugged. Some times it just does a normal switch instead of baton passing.
  23. Some rules: 1. I can remove my pokemon from the auction if i don't find any offer i like or decide otherwise. 2. Minimum +100k from previous BO. Edit: 3 day timer added Start: 3m BO: 4.3m Insta: 6.8m
