Hey, I'm Scylv. I've been playing Pokemon for about 25 years now and I wanted to join a community. I am downloading the game now, I hope it's good. Any suggestions on what to do when I start? Should I be aware of anything as a new player? Pic for attention.

@Scylvester Welcome to PRO, hope you enjoy your journey. I don’t have much in the way of suggestions beyond that, other than to take your time and enjoy. One thing worth knowing is when you first choose your starter, you’ll be offered three options as usual. However, there’s also a hidden “secret” starter available in the background. If you skip the initial three and choose that hidden option instead, it unlocks access to the Ash Hat cosmetic quest (a secret quest that many players don’t discover at first). Just keep in mind that you can’t obtain the Ash Hat without selecting that specific hidden starter at the back of the room, so it’s something to consider before making your choice. Join the community Discord if you haven’t already. It’s a friendly place with plenty of people willing to help out too.

Moderators can help you recover scammed property as long as you have evidence to back up your claim! Post here in the report center if worse comes to worst!

As others have stated, enjoy you adventure and take your time. Also, once you finish the story, there is still more adventure awaiting!

 

In PRO, we have NPC bosses throughout the various regions which can be challenged in an attempt to receive rewards of in-game currency (Pokedollars), mounts (looking at you Lorelei), Pokemon, and more! Besides bossing, we have various Dungeons that you can challenge solo or with a group of friends, legendary quests, seasonal events with unique Pokemon Counterparts (forms), and more!

 

Finally, along your journey, be sure to consider doing the available repeatable activities associated with the regions that you have unlocked. For example, the daily Bug Catching Contest is located in Johto (north of Golden Rod City), Celadon Daily (located in Celadon City in Kanto), and Solaceon News Press (in Sinnoh).
