Pretty straight forward, just a quality of life feature. If I had to guess I'm probably not the first to ever think of it.

 

And of course just like releasing mons in the pc it would go through a confirmation check to prevent accidental releases.

    Since I'm too lazy to clean my own PC, I find it often that I run out of PC space and I have to walk back to a Pokecenter to clean it up every time I sync hunt for a Poke.
