As the Official Legendary Tournament Round Two registration already began, you will need to submit via PM an Imgur album with the Pokemons you want to use in Battle. With that in mind it was decided to do this guide in order to help you do that Imgur album.

If you want to know how to take screenshots with easy tools besides your devices offer, I recomend Gyazo and Lightshot as it will make a image and upload to their site, where you can just use the link or download from there.

Introduction

The Reborn Bot was created by @Walrosskastanie & @Cames and initially used exclusively for their guild "Reborn", hence the name "Reborn Bot". The bot itself made quite the improvements over the last months and especially the past year. It became the official PRO Discord bot after @Walrosskastanie became a staff member of PRO. This guide will explain how to get the Reborn Bot onto your server & showcase how to use every command.

How to get the Reborn Bot onto your server

• Own a discord server or have admin permissions on a discord server, this step is self-explanatory
  
• Go to the official PRO discord bot page
  
• Scroll down and click on "invite now"
  
• Select your server, allow all permissions and press "Authorize"
  
• Confirm that you are not a robot
  
• get started on your discord
  

All commands explained and showcased (please use F3 and the search function if you are looking for something specific)

^server | ^defaultserver

This command sets the default server for either yourself or the entire discord server. This is needed to determine from which server the information should come from. There are several commands that would greatly benefit from having a defaultserver set such as ^inspect, ^ladder, ^guildladder and more.

^channel

The ^channel command sets the default channel for ^remindme, ^remindtime and announcements, your server would greatly benefit from setting up channels for these things. It keeps everything organized easy to follow up on.

^remindme | ^remindme list | ^remindme delete

The ^remindme command let's you basically set a timer for any occasions, you will get tagged once the timer is over.

The ^remindme list command shows you all your set timers and the ^remindme delete commands lets you delete certain set timers.

Example usage:

^remindme 23h7m5s PreHax

^remindme list

^remindme delete

Once the timer is over, you will be tagged in the set defaultchannel for ^remindme

^remindtime

This command can remind you when the daytime changes in PRO. You will be tagged in the defaulchannel for ^remindtime when the daytime changes.

Examples:

^remindtime day | This will remind you once when the daytime turns into day

^remindtime day, night | This will remind you once when the daytime turns into day and once when it turns night

^remindtime morning 8 | This will remind you 8 times when the daytime turns into morning

^remindtime night always | This will always remind you when the daytime changes to night

^remindtime none | This will remove all remindtime times set to your account

^poketime

This command is self--explanatory, it shows the current poketime ingame.

^bguide

The ^bguide command will print out a guide for beginners who just started PRO, it contains a lot of basic useful information. The guide itself is sent in PMs with the Reborn Bot due to spam protection and because it is rather long.

^ivs | showcases the total IVs a pokemon has

The ^info command is used to give out information about abilities, items and moves while the ^item command gives out where to obtain said items.

^cooldowns

The ^cooldown command has several feature, first of all it shows the cooldowns for all bosses but also shows the cooldowns for the Bug Catching contest, all 6 Excavation sites and your Transit Ticket.

^smogon | ^ts

The ^smogon command suggest a moveset/ev spread for that specific pokemon and the ^ts command suggest a team that could work with the pokemon

^mostused | ^mostpaired | ^mostadded

The ^mostused command shows the most used pokemon in PRO pvp; the ^mostpaired command shows the top duo's in PRO pvp and the ^mostadded shows per guild, per player who contributed the most to these statistics by adding teams.

^invites | ^clear | ^help

To sum everything up we have the ^invites command which links to the PRO Discord and the Reborn Bot webpage, the ^clear command (e.g ^clear 999) deletes a set amount of messages and the ^help command shows again the entire command list and can be used to get additional information about a command.

0. INTRODUCTION

Since a few months and almost a year, you are able to play PRO with a Linux device easier. You don't need to run "strange" commands or "emulate" a Wndows machine using a software like Wine (old guides). Basically, I thought it wasn't necessary to do a guide and this PROClient will be easy to use for everyone ; sadly, it wasn't the case and apparently a guide can be helpful for some players. 

In this thread, I'll try to develop all steps necessary for playing PRO. I'll use examples and illustrations from a few famous OS but since the high amount of Linux's OS, it's impossible to do it for all of them. I tested PROClient in these operating system but it should works without issues in many others OS. First steps will be exactly the same between OS so I'll use the same illustrations but for the last and most important part, I'll show you screenshots according to the chosen OS

LIST:

1. DOWNLOAD THE LINUX CLIENT

The first step will be to download the PRO Linux client available in the download page. For that, click HERE or follow this link : (these 3 links are good but I personally prefer using DDL)

You can save this .ZIP file where you want, for this example, I'll save it in my desktop.

2. EXTRACT AND PREPARE YOUR CLIENT

Now, double click on your .ZIP file and use a software for the extraction, normally you should have an application for that installed by default. In some situations, you can directly right click on your .ZIP file and will see a button "Extract..." or something like that. You will have a new folder called "PROClient" ; it's this folder which will be helpful for playing.

3. RUNNING THE GAME

the first and MOST important thing to do is to allow your "PROClient.x86_64" file to run as a program. For that, you have to do a right click on your file and go in properties. Once you are in this menu, you go in "Permissions" and tick the case "Allow executing file as program".

3.1 START THE GAME FROM YOUR FILE EXPLORER

Very easy, on your "File Explorer", double click on your file "PROClient.x86_64" and your game should start directly.

3.2 START THE GAME FROM YOUR TERMINAL (+ method without crashes)

Another way to start the game is to use your terminal. You have probably already seen a terminal and have already one installed in your machine.

Open your terminal and go in the directory where your game is located. You can do that with the "cd" command :

- cd /path/to/your/directory

or do a right click on your folder like i did in these screenshots and open it in a terminal.

and you run this command :

- ./PROClient.x86_64

If you had some issues or crashes with these previous methods, specially during the start, then you should try the following method. This time, you should add a parameter and run this command::

- ./PROClient.x86_64 -force-glcore

4. TIPS & ADVICES

• You should use the last version of your current Operating System. Check the official website of your OS for more details. (for compatibilites and securities reasons)
• Update your packages and softwares using this command in your terminal:
  • sudo apt-get update
• "Pokemon Revolution Online" seems to store your settings in this file, use it if you want to save your settings or edit some of them manually.
  • ~/.config/unity3d/PROTeam/PROClient/prefs

I encourage everyone to try and use this kind of software, most of are totally free and open source. I hope this guide was helpful, feel free to ask any question in the comment area.

3. Fixing execution permissions

If the archive doesn't show up or you get any error, you'll need to fix it by changing some permissions:

1. Open Terminal
   
2. Install Python and GCC

   sudo apt-get install python-dev gcc

   
   

3. Now, make the file "executable"

   chmod +x /route/to/the/game.x86_64

   
   

4. If you succeded it won't appear anything (just another line waiting for new command)
   
5. Try executing double left clicking or with

   ./route/to/the/game.x86_64

   
   

4. Creating a shell script

1. Open your favorite text editor and create a new document
   
2. Use this code (you'll need to modify your file route)

3. Save w/o any extension to your favorite place
   
4. Close editor and try to execute it
   

Running PRO under GNU/Linux is not difficult but needs a little advance knowledge. Anyway, if you use any distribution, it means you are familiar to its environment! Feel free to ask whatever and, please, give me a feedback if you tried it! :Shy:

The Left stick is directional.

Left trigger lets you mount and unmount the bike

Right trigger lets you mount and unmount surf water mount

D Pad allows for the use of your 1,2,3,4 quickslot items.

Depending on your controller, the bottom button on buttons is the interact. 

Your D Pad in battle also servers as the battle menu directions, Example, Pressing 1 or <-- On the Dpad will open up "Fight" and then you just hit with corresponding number 1 through 4 of your moves in your list of moves on the D pad for you to use an attack. For example if I hit 1 again, I will use Dragon Claw. Example is in this .gif

I've coded an app that let you check the amount of memory that your ROM allows to be allocated in RAM per application. Install allowing "Unknown sources". No ads and no special permissions. Hope it helps!

2. Facts to check

• General knowledge
  
  • Make sure you have installed the latest version of the APK
    
  • Your device is qualified because you know its properties and are similar/better than you read before
    
  • The APK installed correctly because you had "Unknown sources" active and so on
    
  • You have closed all the background app's that you had opened before to clean up RAM
    

DOWNLOAD RECOMMENDATION: There have been some problems with downloads directly from devices. I highly recommend to download the apk archive from your computer and then transfer it to your mobile device.

 

IF YOUR KEYBOARD DOESN'T SHOW UP: Try installing another another and disabling/uninstalling the old one. This usually fixes it. I highly recommend Google Keyboard. Those that don't consume too much RAM memory are the best.

 

AVOIDING "PARSE ERROR": You'll need to try several file explorers. The best for installing apk archives is Astro File Explorer

• Developer options
  
  • "Force GPU rendering" = disabled.
    
  • "Force MSAA 4x" = disabled.
    
  • "Disable HW overlays" = unchecked.
    
  • "Background process limit" = "Standart limit".
    
  • "Allow mock locations" = disabled.
    
  • "Logger buffer sizes" = 256K per log buffer.
    
  • "Simulate color space" = disabled.
    

3. Clean installation

1. Go to Settings -> Apps and look for PRO
   
2. Force stop
   
3. Clear both data and cache
   
4. Uninstall
   
5. Reboot your device
   
6. Install again the apk and retry
   

4. Increasing VM Heap Size (ROOT users)

1. Download my app from "Requirements section" and check the memory
   
2. Download and install from Google Play this app: RAM Manager Free
   
3. Open it and grant Root permissions
   
4. Skip ads and slide from left side to right (options menu)
   
5. Tap on "EXTRA"
   
6. Select "VM HEAP SIZE"
   
7. Slide the bar to the maximum allowed (if it's at its max value, stop here, you can't upgrade it)
   
8. Accept to reboot your phone
   
9. Run my app again to check if it changed
   
10. Perform a clean installation (Point 3)
    

5. Changing the runtime system on 4.4 version

5.1. If you do NOT have root access

1. Go to "Developer options" under settings.
   
2. Tap on "Select runtime".
   
3. Choose "Use ART".
   
4. Reboot your phone manually.
   
5. Reinstall APK of the game.
   

5.2. If you DO have root access (advanced and risky)

1. Make a full back up of your phone from your recovery, please.
   
2. Wipe DALVIK cache and reboot (optional)
   
3. Download and open a terminal.
   
4. Write this and press enter

   su

   
   

5. Now, write this and enter again

   setprop persist.sys.dalvik.vm.lib libart.so

   
   

6. Reboot your phone manually or by writing this and enter then

   reboot

   
   

7. Reinstall APK of the game.
   

6. Flash another Kernel/ROM (very risky)

If you've reached this point, it means that you didn't get it to work properly following the other points. Unfortunately, there is nothing more in this guide that could help you, since each device is unique and there are thousands of them. The title says it all: you need to find another ROM. It will be a complicated road with a lot of obstacles. Life is hard and we have to fight it. If something makes you sweat, it worths to be done. Don't let anyone tell what you can do or not. It's inside yourself. Stand up and start building a better future! Act! Jump high! You have the power of changing your own life. You are the only one that can rise up everytime you fall. Forget about being stuck in hats monotony and live... Dreams are the engine of the world.

Now, seriously, due to general request, here's a brief introduction about this point:

6.1. What is a ROM?

One of the best things about the openness of the Android platform is that if you're unhappy with the stock OS, you can install one of many modified versions of Android (called ROMs) on your device. A new ROM can bring you the latest version of Android before your manufacturer does, or it can replace your manufacturer-modded version of Android with a clean, stock version.

6.2. How can I flash one?

There are thousands devices and all of them are different each other. Thus there is not a unique method for all of them. I highly recommend to check XDA Developers forum and look for your model. There are lots of guides and tutorials around it. Remember, it's a complicated process in most of the cases. Take care and remember always to make a back up of your important data and current ROM.

• Jiayu G5S + Stock 4.4.2 = worked after changing Dalvik to ART.
  
• Jiayu G5S + Cyanogenmod 12.1 (5.1.1) = works.
  
• Sony Xperia M2 Aqua + Stock 5.1.1 = works.
  
• Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 + Sotck 4.4 = worked after changing Dalvik to ART.
  

 

IMPORTANT NOTE: it seems to work in all Cyanogenmod's ROM!

- Arnie for running benchmark with Galaxy S4 and Note 4 (Both are running CM12.1). "PRO requires upwards of 748MB of free operating RAM to work properly. Shane developes android PRO on a Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE, and a note 4/5. The former of which has 2GB RAM."

 

- Aeolian successfully changed Dalvik to ART runtime under android 4.4.2 in a Samsung Galaxy (did not specified which model)

 

- Jasmer: "I can confirm this game works no problem on the HTC Desire 626s (T-Mobile Model) You don't have to do any special things to get this game to run on it."

 

- Kebren: "I would like to inform that the game runs on Samsung Grand Prime now too! and really smooth."

1. (Download, download and download some more.)

  1.a Before we download and install the files needed. We'll need WinRAR to extract those files. Click on this link and download the file. I'd advise to make a new folder for each file on your desktop to not make a mess. (https://www.rarlab.com/rar/winrar-x64-610b2.exe)

1.b Go ahead and do the same for JoyToKey, here's the link. (https://joytokey.net/download/JoyToKeySetup_en.exe)

2. (Ok but hows it work...?)

 2.a  Firstly DS4, we should have already extracted the file to the folder we created but if we haven't go ahead and do that using WinRAR.

Now we have the unzipped file, go in it and open DS4. Head to the settings tab and click on the driver setup. Follow the instructions and you should see your controller in the controllers tab. (Make sure it's plugged in or connected via Bluetooth)

2.b Onto JTK, we don't need to mess with the app much just open it up and make sure it's not corrupted or anything.

Now go to your documents on your file explorer and look for the JoyToKey folder. Now, that google drive file you just download goes into there. If for some reason it doesn't show up in the program try renaming it to the other .cfg you see in there and replacing it.

That should be it, if you have any issues I'll help to the best of my abilities. Should look something like this. tada

when you encounter the ghost use soak it will turn it into water type pokemon

so you can false swipe or scratch or do whatever you want coz its not ghost type anymore

or you are smart and creative you can use it versus fire/sand teams :D have fun

note: i hope smeargle's sketch move is fixed next update so i can use 1 poke for false swipe and not switch around :D

I don't know if I'm the best person to make a guide but I didn't see any on the forum so I propose myself.

I recommend you to use the staging version of wine.

Setting up the WINEPREFIX

Your default [iCODE]WINEPREFIX[/iCODE], which is pointless since it already has a default value of [iCODE]~/.wine[/iCODE] when undefined).

We will also set [iCODE]WINEARCH[/iCODE] to [iCODE]win32[/iCODE]. That will make this [iCODE]WINEPREFIX[/iCODE] only able to execute 32-bit apps, which is fine in our case. It is recommended to make your prefix 32-bit only if you don’t need 64-bit support(and there will be a problem later if we use the 64bits version.)

export WINEPREFIX="$HOME/.wine_pro" # This is the path to a hidden folder in your home folder.

export WINEARCH=win32 # Only needed when executing the first command with that WINE

Install [iCODE]winetricks[/iCODE]. It is included in repositories of most Linux distros.

Install .NET Framework 4.5: [iCODE]winetricks dotnet45[/iCODE]

Press next at every step.

If you’re prompted to reboot your computer, no matter the choice it won’t reboot and will be fine.

(maybe: If the process is stuck and the terminal is printing lines ending with “retrying (60 sec)”, open a new terminal, set the [iCODE]WINEPREFIX[/iCODE] variable and execute [iCODE]wineserver -k[/iCODE].)

Installing PRO

Make sure the environment variables are correct (you can use [iCODE]env[/iCODE] to print them)

Create an empty directory for PRO, and [iCODE]cd[/iCODE] into it

Download the client: Windows Client x32 (x64 version doesn't work, it gives the error [iCODE]failed to load il2cpp[/iCODE])

unzip the compressed file (with your favorite zip manager or through the terminal)

Launch the client: [iCODE]wine PROClient.exe[/iCODE]

At this point, you should be able to play PRO already. Congratulations! but launching the game from the command line can be tedious so we'll simplify it.

I recommend creating a start script, in [iCODE]~/.local/bin/pokemon-revolution-online[/iCODE] for example:

cd ~/Games/Pokemon-Revolution-Online # Or wherever you have placed your game file

I also recommend to create a script to kill the program, maybe the game can freeze/crash or not start for whatever reason. In [iCODE]~/.local/bin/pokemon-revolution-onlinekill[/iCODE] for example:

Troubleshooting

The keyboard no longer works after an alt-tab:

I don't recommend you to make alt-tab or even change windows, you won't be able to use the keyboard on the game anymore.

If you ever do that, I found is to change her resolution and then put it back the way it was before.

or you need to activate emulate a virtual desktop via the [iCODE]winecfg[/iCODE] command with the [iCODE]WINEPREFIX[/iCODE]

Parsing error meaning - Parsing error occurs on app installment. When you try to install an application suddenly a window pop-ups saying "there is a problem parsing the package" which means the application cannot be installed due to apk parser i.e. parsing issue. While troubleshooting, you probably noticed that the problem parse package issues often comes when you try to install an APK file. This parse error occurs mostly while downloading the app from play store directly & many times (for root users) even if you try making changes to the apps manifest file, still parsing the package error occurs. so heres a guide on how to solve this issue :)

Step 1 : make sure you allowed "install from unknown sources" on your mobile to check this this go to : settings > security > click on “Unknown sources.” or if your running on Nougat try settings > apps > click on the 3 dots ( special access ) > install unknown apps > then allow everything

Step 2 : Downloading from Pro site ( APk File ) after finishing u will mostly receive " pharsing error " ( dont worry your still good ) Step 3 : On your mobile Open google drive > shared with me > look for the file (chocomint.apk )click on the 3 dots > download ( again downloading file :p )

Step 4 : Once done downloading dont do anything yet, it should prompt you to the installation process just click ok, wait and done if it doesnt prompt you to the installation process go to "my files" > look for the apk > click and install by then it should work

If you choose to use Lightshot, the first thing you're gonna want to do is download the application below.

I wrote a guide about this back in 2016 and due to how the streaming scene has changed it's time to provide more updated information about how to stream on Twitch.

So I won't string along a wall of text with images and information like I had in my old thread. The reason for this is streaming has become much easier to get started and there are some great people who have created videos on how to set up you're stream. So I won't be re-inventing the wheel here, but providing information to guides created by people who provide information about everything from which programs to download to setting up everything down to the specific settings.

Without further adieu let's get into the meaty stuff. Below you will find the steps needed to get set up to streaming on Twitch.

There are three points in which we will touch on and they are the following

Creating a Twitch Account

Creating a Twitch account is very simple and easy. If you click on this LINK you will be taken to a quick easy guide on how to create a Twitch Account.

Once you have created your account proceed to the next step which is downloading a streaming program.

Downloading a Streaming Program

So there are a few streaming programs out there to use currently. A majority of streamers use OBS which is a free program to use. You can download OBS by clicking this LINK.

Now that we have a Twitch Account and OBS downloaded lets dive into the best part of streaming. Which is getting your stream on Twitch so your viewers can watch you play PRO.

Getting Your Stream to Work

So Just last month a group of people who's main focus is to help old and new streamers get their OBS settings set up correctly to optimize their computers and provide a great streaming environment . Once you have finished setting up OBS let's take a venture into setting up notifications and overlays.

Answer: Most players will stream it under Sun & Moon.

so earlier today, i had black screen when starting pro, like everyone i tried to reboot, and i tried the solution given by the forum :

didnt work, so i tried to delete my folder and reinstall PRO, but here is what i had :

then i finally went to the (amazing) support section on discord, and we have found the issue :

Because of the last windows update, Microsoft security essential and Windows defender (respectively on windows 7 and 10)

both see one of the files in the new PRO folder as a threat, and delete it/put i in quarantaine, obviously, its a false positive

Again, thanks to the support channel on discord, we manage to find a solution for w7 & w10 :

1: Delete your pro files

2: Disable Microsoft security essential (for w7) / or Windows Defender (for w10)

3: Unzip PRO current version again

4: Add the whole PRO folder to the "exclusion list" of Microsoft Security Essential (for w7) / or Windows Defender (for w10)

5: Enable Microsoft security essential / Windows Defender

Make sure you followed all thoses steps !

edit1 : solution for both windows 7 & windows 10 below, keep scrolling if you are a w10 user !

edit2* : for users who have some issues with how to disable windows defender, i added some more informations about it at the end, keep scrolling !

If you have windows 7 like me, the problem is the same but with Microsft Security Essential (MSE), you have to delete pro, disable MSE, unzip PRO again, then add the folder to the "exclusion list" :

And once you unzip PRO again, this is how you add your files to the exclusion list :

If you have windows 10, you need to disable windows defender, unzip PRO again, and add the folder to the "exclusion list" of windows defender, then enable it :

Virus & Threat Protection Settings :

Scroll down, Add or Remove, exclusions :

Add a Folder :

Then Select your whole folder :

Then open the game !

this works also just abit differently

 

settings > windows defender >open security center >virus >protection settings>controlled folder (on) >protected folder choose the PRO64 or PRO32 (delete old files and then re extract and it should work)

Download the x32 version might be an easier fix for now, if it works for everyone.

the file considerer as a threat by windows defender & Microsoft security essential may be only in the x64 version, if anyone can confirm (or not) let us know !

Since i dont have w10 myself so i had to ask some kind people to send me the screens, but really you should find it quite easily

The reason is very simple, the windows defender or the antivirus on prowash version to windows version detects a trojan , that is a file that is inoffensive and only make the pro running, so is 100% secure.

Before you test and try doing this make sure of:

close the game try to re-open. (dont work)

re-download.(dont work)

run as admin(dont work)

comp-w7 (dont work)

turn of my windows defender(dont work)

run in a pen(dont work)

open at my labtop same problem.(same problem)

solution:

HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO DO!

STEP 1 - OPEN THE WINDOWS DEFENDER AND TURN ON!

STEP 2 - REMOVE FILES AND UNZIP AGAIN.

STEP 3 - OPEN THE GAME AND CLOSE IT.

STEP 4 - GO TO WINDOWS BALLON IN THE RIGHT CORNER AND OPEN THE "VIRUS SCAN". -> others antivirus just go quarantine and jump next step.

STEP 5 - AT QUARANTINE RESTORE THE FILE.

STEP 6 - OPEN THE GAME AGAIN (FIXED)

(ADD A GAME FOLDER EXCEPTION AT WINDOWS DEFENDER, TO DONT HAVE A FUTURE PROBLEM. )

Add the Folder exeption:

1- at the folder right click and click "analyse with windows defender"/open windows defender or antivirus.

2- go second slot and select exclusions.

3- add the pro folder.

1)First, you have to click on the circle which has a plus mark on the left side of the screen.

 

2) Then you have type the name of your server, then you have to upload a profile photo for your server and you have to choose the region. Singapore is the default region.

 

3) Yeah! You just created a server. Now let's move on to some basic things you have to do.

 

4) The only chat available in a new server will be general. So now I will teach you how to add more channels.

 

5)So, to create a new text channel you have to click on the plus which is on the right side of "TEXT Channels".

 

Then you will have to type the name of the channel and select whether it's text or voice. The default option will be text channel as you clicked on the plus near "TEXT CHANNEL". Now you have to choose whether the channel will be private or public. Private means that only selected roles will be able to use that channel. ( I will teach you how to create roles) For example in pro's discord server, only some people can type in the announcement and rules channel. So you have to decide whether to make the channel private or public. Then click on the 'Tick' mark to create a channel. So now you have learned how to create a channel. Using the same method you can create a voice channel.

 

6)So now, to change the settings of the channel, you have to click on the specific channel.Then,click on the three dots on the right side of the page and then, click on channel settings.

 

So here you can edit the channel name. You can also write a topic for it. You can also choose that which roles can get access to that channel, by clicking on permissions.

 

 

7) Now, to create a role you have to click on the the three vertically arranged dots on the right side of the name of your server. Then it will show some options. Click on server settings.

 

8) Then, click on roles.So here you have to type the name of the role, it's color and to what things it can have access to. Yeah! You have created a new role (@everyone is a default role. The others roles that you have created will appear on that list. )

 

9)Now, that you have create a role, I will show you how to assign it to the members. Again go to server settings. Click on members. Now click on the members and it will show you the roles. Click on the role that you want to assign them. You can also change their nicknames. NOTE:-Assign yourself a role first.Its better if you assign your self the most superior role as you can control everything if you give yourself the roles. Give roles carefully, to only trustworthy people.

 

10) So now, if you want to delete the server. Again go to server settings . Then click on the three dots on the top right corner of the page overview. Then click on delete server.

Preparing your Download.

1. Clear your device entirely of all clients, previous and current versions. Also empty the Trash to ensure they are no longer accessible at all.

2. Visit System Preferences> Security & Privacy> General. It will look like this:

3. Unlock your Settings by clicking the padlock, this will prompt a password if you use one. After doing this, make sure that "Allow Apps Downloaded From: Anywhere" is selected as shown in the image above.

An alternative: Select "Mac App Store and identified developers" instead of "Anywhere". When you reach step 7 you will need to revisit your Security & Privacy Settings and click a button that says "Open Anyway" - however, I have found this a little unpredictable across multiple tests and can test your patience a little. I definitely prefer "Anywhere" for this particular client, but this is definitely a viable option if you'd like to try it.

4. Now download the client from one of the above sources.

5. Once the client has download it should expand (unzip) itself, if not, you will need to do this manually. You can generally do this by double-clicking or Ctrl+clicking the file. You can also do this by unzipping via Archive Utility as you can see here:

6. Now you may need to move the client to Applications. As seen here, I find mine quite easily by searching "PROMAC" (Update: Client is now called PRO_OSX), and simply selecting and dragging the client to the Applications folder on the left hand side. At this point I also drag the client to my dock to lock it there for future use, just makes things easier - completely optional step though.

7. Now you can try open your client. The icon should jump up and down for a moment, then prompt you with the following message:
