Over time, both the participants and myself have discussed ways to make the existing unofficial tournaments I’ve been hosting on Showdown more appealing for a wider audience. At the moment, these tournaments run with a 1M buy-in, and we consistently attract around 15 to 20 players. While this shows there is interest, the reality is that the overall prize pool isn’t that compelling. As a result, players (both new and more experienced), don’t feel the tournaments are quite worth the time investment, despite the matches themselves being enjoyable...we’re currently stuck on how to meaningfully improve this. Our thought process. We’d likely keep a buy-in (whether 1M or adjusted). It helps maintain match quality and ensures players have some skin in the game. We may run fully free tournaments in the future, but for now we believe a buy-in helps preserve competitiveness. To elevate these events, some form of sponsorship could make a huge difference. If moving tournaments from Showdown to PRO is what’s required to make sponsorship possible, I believe players would be willing to make that transition. Sponsorship doesn’t need to be anything specific or fixed. It could take many forms, such as: High quality PvP Pokémon as prizes, cosmetics (including sellable ones), additions to the prize pool, or any other form of support that adds incentive and excitement. We’re not here to dictate what we “deserve” or request anything unreasonable. Any level of support would be appreciated I think...if it helps bring these tournaments to life and makes them more attractive to the wider PvP community. If this is something you’d like to see, consider leaving a +1, along with your thoughts or suggestions. Player feedback and interest would go a long way toward showing that this is worth exploring further. The goal here is simple. Reignite PvP tournaments and make them something players actively look forward to again. If there’s enough interest, I plan to host tournaments during every major in-game event (when I'm able to and have the time). The next one coming up is the Valentine’s event. Maybe this could be a good opportunity to try something new. Thanks for reading, and I appreciate any feedback. Positive or critical.3 points

Hey everyone I’m happy and proud to be here! My name is Fabian, I’m 34 years old and I’m from Hamburg, Germany . MI’ve had a physical disability since birth, but gaming has always been a huge passion for me and something I put a lot of time and energy into. I’m a motivated player who’s constantly working on improving and learning every day. My main focus right now is getting better at PvP, rebuilding my team, and understanding the meta more deeply. I’m still on the grind, but I’m committed and enjoying the process At the moment, I’m also working on completing my Pokédex, including legendaries, and investing a lot of time (and money ) into building a strong foundation. I might not be a PvP expert yet, but I’m always open to advice, discussions, and learning from others. I appreciate a chill but competitive environment, teamwork, and respectful communication. Looking forward to grinding, improving, and having a good time together2 points

My 2 cents, I love the way you are hosting them so far, replays were interesting nonetheless, however, I see this logic: - High Buy-in = only players confident enough to win it will participate. (This leads to small tournaments with few TOP players). - No buy-ins = Not sustainable in the long run unless sponsored in other ways (people donating for the sake of having a tournament). So, I see a solution here (more like an idea): What if you do low buy-ins, aiming for the max number of players, add rewards all the way for different things, or right away giveaways between the participants, maybe more chance the more rounds you win... And to complete the funding and for the sake of having a big prize pool, you work with Guilds. Pvp guilds could donate to a tournament, specially if that makes most of their members play (Not just the top players from each guild). Where I would love to land with all this is with a big tournament, where everytime you host one it is like a big event. You get 100 ish people playing, does not matter the level, everyone has the chance to win something and if in the way they end up on the top cut, they made well worth their fun investment. Looking from the other side of the scale, from the top players point of view, I understand doing more rounds could be more "work" but Ideally you want to win a tournament beating everyone and the best ones, not the few that are ok risking X ammount of Pokedollars for fun. Also, the bigger the tournament, the bigger the audience, making it possible to scale if things goes well. Sorry for the long wall of text, again just droping my 2 cents, hopefully this helps in anything. PD: I'm just thinking out load ways to get "sponsorships" from guilds instead from the game itself2 points

But for that we had the summer tournament that prices we're juicy before, imo we should bring that back instead of sponsoring tournaments all the time, once in a while could be cool and very attractive for most players but for me what they should bring back are winter and summer tournaments like before. But overall +1 too2 points

What is the role of a Moderation Staff member? PRO's Moderation Team is a group of staff who provide support for players and ensure that PRO is kept in order. The Moderation Team make sure that users follow PRO's Rules and support players on the forum and in-game. Moderator [RECRUITMENT IS OPEN] A Moderator's primary focus is in PvP, and Chat violations. They maintain order in-game and make sure that users are following the rules. Moderators handle Reports, Appeals, and the PvP subforums. A good candidate for Moderator is someone who's an experienced member of PRO and has good knowledge in the PvP and Chat rules. Moderator is the most recruited role in PRO, it's important that Moderators would be able to put aside at least one hour per day for their duties. Trade Moderator [RECRUITMENT IS OPEN] TMods are supposed to do three main activities: dealing with reports in the Report Center, making sure the Trade subforums are all in order and that every topic is following the Trade Rules, and moderating chat channels in-game. TMods are the principal forces responsible for watching over Trade Chat in-game, but they also moderate everywhere there could be an infraction. TMods will step in if a player needs help with a general, non-role-specific issue that any staff member could address effectively. A good candidate for a Trade Moderator is someone who's an experienced member of PRO and has good knowledge in the Trade, PvP and Chat rules. Requirements Even if you don't meet the requirements, small exceptions may be made if the rest of your application is promising. (Mandatory) requirements must be met in order to apply. At least 200 hours in-game playtime. Able to dedicate yourself to staff work and deliver efficiently. 18 or older is preferred, applications from younger applicants will be considered if exceptional Can understand English at an advanced level. (Mandatory) You can still be accepted if you are from an area that isn't listed. These are just our priorities based on our highest userbase countries. What we look for in applicants. Strong communication. Open-mindedness. A positive attitude. Good organisation skills. Able to work in a team. Can work under pressure. Application The application form is below. Please fill it in and submit it as a new topic Here. We are aware that the questions might looks hard or "too serious" for a voluntary/not-paid position, however it's important to know who we have in front of us when we read their applications. This because the quality of staff is reflected on the community and the greater the staff is and the better the results will be. The previous questions were telling us almost nothing and this would lead to a lot of time potentially wasted from both sides. Your application and results must remain confidential. We ask all applicants to keep the fact they have applied secret. Sharing your application status will result in the rejection of your application. Please be aware that all staff work is voluntary! This is not a career. When applications are open, there will be an announcement on our Discord Server and this post will be featured on the front page of the forum.2 points

Cc: Chairxtable Ethereal is a not so new and hopefully still up and coming guild created by two not very sane people, EdwardLZ and NKT. Leading a top guild has been one of our goals for the longest time ever. So, when we finally had the money to create a guild, we immediately decided to do it with no second thought. But rather than being the best in terms of ratings, we long for an active community more than anything else! We wanted to create a home where players can comfortably communicate. A community where everyone can push each other to be better but still have fun along the process! That is where we need you. We might not have a high rating as of now, but those trivial things could matter later. No matter if you're new or a veteran, we welcome you with open arms. Requirements It is preferable if you are able to speak basic English, they don't have to be good, just enough to understand. We are recruiting anyone and everyone who wishes to join the guild, so please consider joining, i'm desperate. Guild Benefits 1. We have a functional Discord server for communications, trades, pvps, etc. 2. In-guild contests, events, etc is held in our discord server. More members = more events! 3. A guild bank to lend and borrow Pokemons for free! 4. A guild forum shop to advertise member's Pokemons for free! 5. we have a pretty sick guild logo. 6. we have a pretty sick guild art 7. We get top 15-20. How to join You can reply in this forum, but it is also preferable and most efficient to send your application in our (click) Discord Server (click) Please send your application with the following format: In-game name (IGN) Number of hours played Age Language(s) spoken Make sure to tell us when you can be online so we know when to invite you! We look forward to seeing you!1 point

Hey everyone, I really suck at these. I've been playing PRO since 2016, and I think it's finally time to retire. PRO has been a huge part of my life for nearly a decade. The community, the player culture, drama, events, dumb threads, everything, I'm really grateful for. Here's a small introduction to what I do in PRO before I officially retire. How I play the game I'm a jack of all trades, I enjoy every aspect of PRO. Hunting, PvP (Personally love Draft!), trading, conversing with the community, joining and hosting events and tournaments, helping newer players, however my biggest enjoyment from PRO is making content and working on projects. Some of my projects were never posted, some were discontinued, some are ongoing, some were still being worked on in the background. My projects and other stuff My biggest project that's still ongoing is ofc New Leaf. Shoutout to everyone in the guild, I would be nothing without you guys. Having the opportunity to lead and manage one of the longest lasting guilds in PRO was an amazing experience. To newer players who are considering creating a guild, I say make it, don't let others discourage you. Set a goal and work towards it. Rare Candy Media (RCM) was a passion project of mine. I enjoy the idea of reporting any and all things to the community. There are atm, 12 issues of RCM you can read in the General Talk Sub-forum if you're interested. Thank you for the art and editing that was provided by @Dos3d and @Walkyrion for the help in this project and everyone who has contributed one way or another at one point. I really would've loved to continue making articles each week. Giving money away until Astrella comes out. As the title says. It was fun seeing how people would react. It was a mix of disbelief, gratitude, shock, and genuine curiosity. I think due to PRO's scam culture, it made it hard for me to randomly give money to strangers. The most common outcome was the player asking "Why?" About 10% of 275 people called me a scammer and left the PM, but the majority of the giveaway winners were shocked and thankful after I explained what I was doing. This project had to stop for personal reasons that didn't involve money. Then I farmed 999 Rattata hair and made a "Buff Magnet Pull" thread one of the most liked threads on the forum. Idk why, I just did it. https://pokemonrevolution.net/forum/topic/234573-i-farmed-999-rattata-hair-what-happens-next-will-shock-you/ https://pokemonrevolution.net/forum/topic/228876-magnet-pull-needs-buff/#comment-1361546 The biggest project I was working on that never came out and is still ongoing was asking people what there favorite part of PRO was. The goal was to ask 200 players. 100 from Silver and 100 from Gold what their favorite part of PRO was. As of right now, I'm only on the 87th person. This one was very interesting. It doubled as a social experiment. I would PM random people on the server with the question "What do you enjoy most about PRO? Hunting, PvP, forms, quests, events, staff, the community etc." Pretty simple question right? I noticed though, right around the quarter point, that the majority of people were just giving short responses. Once I altered my question and removed the examples, people started giving me better answers. The most common answer in order was the community, followed by hunting, then forms / cosmetics, followed by PvP, events, and lastly quests (Wonder why, most recent quests are unique, don't require the player to check every tree, and provide just enough clues). Here were some of the best answers I got: I also did host some tournaments: PRO Tour S2: https://pokemonrevolution.net/forum/topic/187119-pro-tour-s2/ PRO Tour S3: https://pokemonrevolution.net/forum/topic/190792-pro-tour-s3/ Guild showcases and spotlights. A project I was working on but never released on the forum. This one didn't hit with me. I tried contacting leaders of smaller guilds to build their community via an interview and highlighting what makes their guild special. The leaders / officers would either never respond or what I assume to be quitting the game. I did interview other popular guilds which was supposed to be an article for RCM. Reason for retiring I'm at a point in my life where I have to choose wisely what I spend my free time on. I'm not burnt out in PRO, I still have a lot of fuel in me and several big projects in my mind I want to work on, but it's just the fact that I can't commit to PRO as much as I used to. I have to make a sacrifice, and I chose to drop PRO. It doesn't mean PRO never meant anything to me, it's the opposite, PRO was everything for me, and I have to take a step back. It's been fun Over the 9 years I've played, I've seen many people come and go. Staff members, players, friends. People got banned, people quit, some had to focus irl. People changing. PRO's come a long way, trust me, not just the game itself, but also the people working on it. This is 100% an unbiased opinion, I know some people think it's cool to hate on staff, but learn to give them a break sometime, they're human. Same goes for staff members, we all just want the best for the game. I trust that Wally does too. Not bringing up past issues and going off topic (Make a separate thread if you have to), not trying to glaze either, but I feel like over the past few months, he has improved with trying to communicate things to players. From my neutral perspective, that's what I've seen. Try to respect that at least. But yeah this game will continue to change for the better, I believe that, and I will always be proud to be part of the community. I hope that by sharing my projects, I inspire some of you to do the same. This isn't goodbye forever, I'll still be on Discord don't worry, I'm always available to chat, just hmu. I do wish you all the best, and hope you have as much fun as I did. Peace!1 point

All we're asking for in this change is the ability to play against people from other servers and better teambuilding compatibility with pokepaste/showdown imports.1 point
