  1. The big disclaimer at the start of everything: This thread is not a confirmation of a PvP Council nor will there be an ETA if one comes. Thread is about brainstorming the idea and execution. A PvP Council has been one of the most suggested things by top level players within this game for months and years now however it was never done. I would like to give everyone the opportunity to brainstorm the idea, how a player driven PvP Council could look like, how things are decided etc. The big questions that should be answered here: How are council members picked? How long can they stay on the council? What are the requirements? Should they be able to participate in ranked PvP while being on the council? How would the split between Silver and Gold members look like? [*]How are suspect tests decided? How does the council decide what Pokemon to sent into a suspect testing phase? How would a suspect test look like (a special suspect ladder is out of question)? Who gets to vote after the suspect test is over? What are the requirements to vote? [*]What would council members need from staff in particular to make it successful? How much influence does staff have over the council? When can staffs interfere in the decision making process? Unlike this thread: PvP Council, this should be about the execution of a council. Any off-topic comments, insults, drama inciting, taunting or any negative posts will be deleted. This thread is also not about writing "+1" or that you like the idea, it is solely for brainstorming how things could be executed. Don't ruin this chance for yourselves, show us if a player driven PvP council is even realistic within this community. Best Regards, Qeight If this in the end doesn't happen, please don't be upset!
  2. Your first sentence, are you not seeing that? Toxicity will lead to sanctions, it is counterproductive and if you actually cared about what you are saying you wouldn't act the way you are acting. You wouldn't attack the only staff member who is trying to come forward a bit, be open about the possibility of a PvP council and be open about changes, bans and such. What you guys are doing is quite honestly one of the reasons why staff never did a PvP council, toxic community members who will not accept a decision because they are not agreeing to it. With that said, think about your actions and future comments on that matter. Locked.
  3. I'll respond properly besides your toxicity within this post. Your first sentence makes absolutely no sense as literally about 2 weeks we banned Shaymin (Land) due to its bugged moveset. We do indeed ban stuff, before the Shaymin ban we banned Memento+Focus Sash. The assumption that we have 0 experts is simply wrong, sadly you do not know everyone within staff. I am obviously not an expert in those matters that's why I seek the help from others, way more experienced players but I also have the pov of someone who is not an expert yet played a lot. A ban has to be justified and above I explained why a ban isn't needed at the moment, is it justified? If you think that every bugged thing should be banned then yes. "meta is stagnent for years, only rain + ferro + togekiss + manaphy + conks around." Years? I think the word you are looking for is months. Back in the day sand teams dominated, then it was Talonflame, Goth, Dugtrio, Blissey etc. I explained that in the other post about a Manaphy ban, the meta shifts on its own when stuff gets coded. As the PvP update is currently being worked on a ban now makes sadly not a whole lot of sense and what comes after the PvP updates? This has to be decided but I hear and read everything that gets discussed. We hear the strong suggestions about more PvP related subjects, banning/votes/PvP council etc but at the moment those things wouldn't make a whole lot of sense.
  4. We discussed this as well, while indeed this shouldn't be a thing, it is a very niche scenario therefore we will also not ban this. There is no need for a long explanation, its simply a very niche one and we don't feel like it has that big of an impact. It's not that broken either. It will be fixed with the upcoming PvP update as well. Kind regards, Q8
  5. After discussing it for a few days we decided to not ban Manaphy, to not ban Damp Rock and to not ban rain. I'll give you guys a short explanation of stuff said during our discussion. "If you ban one metagame, another will just become stronger and take it's place" Having played PRO for years myself, this is a fairly accurate statement. The metagame shifts with PRO, new items/moves/abilities get coded, new spawns are added, spawns are changed, mechanic updates etc. If any of the above gets banned then something else will simply take its place. "So I see no reason to ban something that is competitive and not overpowered" This is indeed a strong point in our discussion, are Manaphy/Damp Rock/Rain teams overpowered or are they simply just strong competitively? The answers is the later, they are strong but not broken to an extend where there is no counter play. "It is strong, not broken but facing it countless times every month/pvp session is just a joke." We believe that obviously it does cause frustration but so does Chansey, Blissey, Clefable, (old Talonflame) and and and, we can't ban something just because it is annoying to play against. The same reason why would not ban stall or stall Pokemon. It is fairly common to call for bans because the Pokemon in itself is frustrating to deal with but if your team is prepared you can beat it, same goes for rain teams. You have to adapt to the metagame to succeed. Last strong point we have is that the PvP update is right around the corner and banning something now would make simply make no sense. However once every PvP related update is released we want to be more open to these types of discussions but more to that another time. Kind regards, Q8
  6. Hello Ta7esh, both Shaymin forms are currently banned, Shaymin Sky because its UBER and Shaymin Land because it is bugged. It can obtain illegal moves like every TM, Flamethrower/Icebeam etc. We will unban it the second it is fixed. Kind regards, Q8

    Shayman

We considered that but it is simply not practical for us given certain circumstances I can not reveal. :/ We will unban it the second it is fixed.

Hello Logica, as explained in the announcement made by me, Shaymin (Land) form is currently able to get illegal movesets such as Flamethrower, Icebeam etc therefore it is banned till this is fixed. A fix is already uploaded but has to be tested, once this is done we have to remove all illegal movesets from Shaymin's and then will be unbanned. Hope that clarifies it. Kind regards, Q8
  9. I brought this subject up internally and we will discuss it, I will respond with an outcome when we reached one.
