I'll be honest, I don't care if you are the best tournament showdown player, win countless tournaments in showdown. This really does not matter whatsoever to me, this is our game and we have to make decisions for THIS game not for Showdown/Smogon. What is the best way to do it? Let players vote who actually play THIS GAME and reach the Top25 spots. There are a ton of players who have this and never step into PvP. You are well aware that we are discussing "Tailglow Phione" or "Surf Pikachu + H.A/Pre Evo moves" and cases like that. If you really think this will "destroy PvP" then you are so far off what this post is about.

Deleted all "meta" related comments, you guys are misunderstanding something here. The Gen7OU Showdown thing refers to legality of certain move combinations, this has nothing to do with their meta or our meta. It's about illegality of combinations. Arena Trap, Blaziken or what not are NOT up for discussion, things like Tailglow Phione, Pikachu Surf + H.A/Pre-Evo moves or Gems are up for discussion. Those things are not allowed in Gen7 OU, they can't be legally obtained, in PRO they can be obtained. The meta is not discussed here, it's not about creating Tier lists, it's about discussing legally of combinations.

Active players meaning Top25 finishes this year, in the past players could vote if they had a certain rank or were Top25 in any season, it makes no sense to let players vote who were Top25 sometime last year or even the year before that. This ensures that active players who can reach the Top ranks on the ladder. This may not seem like the "best players" however they are the significant better players.

Hey there PvP players, due to PRO's constant updating, quests, availability of moves/tutors/tms and such we created unconsciously move/ability combinations that are not available in the original games and are invalid on Showdown. A few examples of that are Unaware Clefable with Soft-Boiled, Natural Cure/Serene Grace Chansey or Blissey with Psywave or Tailglow Phione. We have banned a few of these combinations but realized that things such as: Pikachu or Raichu with Surf & a pre-evolution move from Pichu or any egg move or its Hidden Ability, are banned from ranked play. This is due to an illegal move combination. [spoiler=List of banned moves in combination with Surf on Pikachu/Raichu] Egg moves/Breeding moves Wish Tickle Reversal Present Lucky Chant Flail Fake Out Endure Encore Electric Terrain Double Slap Disarming Voice Charge Bide Bestow Pre-Evolution moves Charm Sweet Kiss Nasty Plot Are super rare cases and super confusing for some players. There are a quite a few things like that in our game and currently there is no way for us to limit them from ranked play except banning them. Due to our poor handling in the past we created inconsistencies that we no longer want. We however are stuck on how we can fix those things, this is where we want to hear your guys opinion. There are currently two approaches I can think of: Ban everything, ban every combination that is not valid in a Gen7 OU Showdown team Let capable players vote for every single scenario, this way the community has a say in it as well. Legendary Pokemon are supposed to be end-game activities, end-game goals. How can you limit people who are actually in the end-game to get these legendary Pokemon? The Sinnoh Champion requirement. There are already regional legendary Pokemon that do not require Sinnoh champion however this is the only way to artificially distinguished between who already is in the "end-game" and who isn't. Spawns are not supposed to be super rare tier, high tier. They will be changed after the summer event, just like the ones on Breezy Fall. The main focus is the quest not spawns, the summer event is for spawns. The quest is designed for you to figure things out, not get handed everything in the first 5 minutes. Vagueness and actually understanding, figuring out requirements are part of quests in case you ever played literally any other game with quests. This is not an event, it is supposed to stay. This is the first quest that allows you to get all 3 of a trio, this quest and quest requirements get progressively "harder" to achieve, giving users' a goal. It is an end-game activity after all. This is again NOT an event, this is a quest-line for the legendary bird trio and it is here to stay. Not everything is perfect, a small oversight like the surfing with a full fir team is being addressed. Spawns are not supposed to be the main attraction for this quest, they will be a reason to return later on after the summer event but for now the main focus is the quest. What is the point of releasing a quest-line and then giving you all the details on how to proceed. This is not how quests are done, in any game that I played at least. There are design choices and choices that will be changed later on when other certain stuff is done but that is not something we can disclose or talk about yet. Part of the fun is figuring stuff out and not getting everything served on a silver tablet. There is a large portion of players who can actually appreciate not getting everything served on a silver tablet. Nobody said this will replace Vulcan or the Summer event, not sure where you got that information from. Yes Vulcan will return, yes there will be rare attractive spawns. Complaining about something you have no knowledge about is just, you know very demotivating for us. There are still certain limitations on what can be done in a Free2Play MMO with volunteers who work with a scripting language that obviously has its limitations. This quest is not better developed than "show me 344 evos, pick Latios or Latias"? I beg you pardon but of course there are limitations on how much you can actually do in python. Explained above. Very reasonable for the first 2, it gets progressively harder to achieve for a good reason. It is the first quest where you can actually get all 3 and it's an end-game quest. Time-gate, quest-gate, whatever you wanna call it. You are not supposed to rush through quests in an instant, freshly caught Pokemon with a certain IV requirement block you from doing so. Actually spending effort on something. Times change, we actually have the freedom to do what we want and when we want to do it. As Walross said, next time we release a guide with it because that is the best thing to do, so everyone can get everything in 5 minutes. This is obviously not going to happen and you know better than this that this would be just unreasonable. Yes. You can't compare this quest to any other quest, as this quest allows you to catch all 3 of a trio and others simply don't.

Given the amount of rude, disrespectful and just plain unnecessary comments I am sadly forced to lock this thread however I am not going to leave it on an open note without responding to some of the stuff said here. Claiming staff are bias I am not going to say that past staff were not bias, in fact I believe past staff were indeed bias in their decision making. Players like myself or Derpro suffered from those decisions. Tr3y, TheAkalli and others suffered from unfair and bias decisions as well. However we are not the past staff team, we are not those "powerabusers" you are trying to call out here. I gladly take actions against anyone who abuses their power now, what they did in their past honestly I could care less. If those mistakes were fixed, if you know a case where a ban was completely unfair then go ahead and DM me it. I gladly unban everyone who was unfairly banned, in fact both me and Logan are unbanning everyone who was unfairly banned or where evidence just doesn't exist or is severely lackluster. We put a ton of effort into this, calling us bias or powerabusers is just nonsense. Throughout this entire thread I read people writing that staff are powerabusers, are bias or just want to hurt the community but not a single time actually someone could provide evidence, not even a name where someone was abused. Someone on the first few pages claimed something, he was right and the mistake was corrected. Just listen to yourself for a second and hear what kind of nonsense you are writing in this thread. A lot are claiming powerabuse but can't even name a player who was "abused"? This is really ridiculous and crosses a line. Claiming unfair treatment Please give me names and I can look into the evidence collected, their appeals/reports. However just alone in this thread people claimed Epiales was powerabusing for muting people because they talked about football when in reality they were muted for swearing. The same way GengarLv100 is saying: You are just making fool out of yourself in our eyes but you do not bring anything productive to the table nor do you understand the harm you do by lying about what actually happened. Is this really the "unmesured abuse of power" you are talking about? The chat was warned to not break a widely accepted rule yet you broke it again and were muted for 60 seconds. A mute that doesn't have any influence on future sanctions. Just alone in this thread there are several players who wrote stuff like this to us on their alternative accounts or main accounts: Staffs are corrupt - "scenario with teerav" With what? What are we doing that is corrupt? Do you guys even understand the meaning of corrupt? I am surprised that you guys are actually asking us to punish a user who has not broken any rule, has done something on their personal discord. Do you really want us to do that? Punish players with not even a rule for what happened for something on their personal discord? I beg your pardon but what? This goes literally against everything you guys are claiming, that we abuse our powers, are bias and what not. We will not sanction someone who hasn't broken any rule for something they did on their personal discord. This is not only unreasonable but beyond stupid. Recruitment and letting community have a say in moderation Hey, guess what. ALL staff are community members, guild leaders, collectors, PvP players, shiny hunters, traders etc. We are volunteers out of the community and not some employees. I am sorry but we will not have some random players decide who to recruit because they think someone would be a good moderator, there is way more to it than you think. Do you think I was widely accepted as staff when I started? God no, staffs left the team because I joined/was unbanned. Some hated me but in the end those staffs saw that I was one of the few people who actually fought with everyone so everything is fair. I don't care if I have to discuss stuff with a Dev, an Admin or whoever. Logan be my witness, I rather get sanctioned than let someone get unfairly banned. You don't have to believe it, you really don't but I can at least say that we tried to give you guys the chance to voice your opinion. We knew this thread would be a shitstorm of false accusations, ranting and nonsense but at least some productive work came out of it. Recruitment is a thing we always have to improve upon, I agree that some of our last few recruits were not that great. Lots of bad decision making when recruiting, some who should have never been recruited in the first place. Shinohara, Logan and me are in positions where we decide who we want on our team. The workload for most is just too much, most don't make it past the first few months. Being a Moderator is really not that easy, a Trade Moderator and CC, they do even more. We hold open recruitment's but some of the applications are just straight up garbage, people lying about their past sanctions, having utterly rude behavior everywhere and stuff like that. I recruited Acaiberry for example, someone who basically nobody knows. Fluffles was one of the best staff members, was some random girl who was interested in becoming staff. Finding GOOD staff, dedicated staff is not that easy. It's not worth training them for 2 months just for them to quit 3 months in. I am willing to give people chances if they actually deserve them, NIkola gave me mine and I used it but we will not make BillyRick231 with 5 quiet-bans on his record a Moderator, that is just not reasonable. Final words A lot of stuff said in here is just factually not true, if it were then you guys could provide at least a name but even that is too much to ask for. We would take most of this stuff serious if it were actually true but it's not. You are not one of the "cool kids" if you think that insulting staff, or trying "own" them/"teach" them a lesson is something cool to do. It's really just sad nothing else really. I can judge this pretty good because I did that in the past as well. I'll just get straight to the point. Part of my duties as staff member is to make unbias decisions unlike former staffs, yes I was unjustified banned. I can even prove it now as there was never evidence for anything. However in your case (Akalli/Tr3y); there was evidence. There was evidence of Tr3y already boosting An1ma back in the day. Do you expect us to believe after a long time with no match, both of you suddenly randomly match against each other? The fact that you also play together and PvP via screensharing makes this a very obvious thing. I took on the case because it was the best call here. The match had to be explained and you did so, got unbanned. You actually got unbanned because you remembered details you posted in our Discord. I could not care less whatsoever what you think about me, you feel betrayed but this has nothing to do with anything. This was a common procedure and that's it. If I hurt your feelings, so be it but this had nothing to do with bias. I wasn't even a Moderator at the time. I wasn't even an apprentice at the time. Do you really believe that I was in a position to remove a long standing Admin? No. The tournament now is handled by me and Shinohara mainly so this type of thing should not happen again. As for Tr3y's ban, it was one of the three out of his 6 that was actually fair and justified. If you think we don't fight bias then you are clearly wrong, we spent most of the time discussing cases, arguing a lot. @Eaty Can be my witness, I annoy him all the time when I discuss because I do not stop even if it doesn't fit into my area. You can not work with people you hate/dislike so much however staffs had to deal with that when working with me. There were staff members who quit staff because of me however in the end it worked out. I can watch over everything my Moderators as Team Lead, I can overrule them as I see fit and I do that already. Senrosia however improved, is he perfect? No but who of us is? Nobody. Does one mistake or two or three make him a bad Moderator? No. Do things he did in the past or as Dmod make him a bad Moderator now? Stop holding useless unjustified grudges. We can call out misbehavior left and right. Nobody said that staffs are never wrong, we learn from our mistakes however if I see complaints about why people can't talk about genocide or incest then I can say with certainty that players are wrong in that subject. I also can say that players say we punish older players less harsh than newer players is also wrong. When players tell us we bias ban people, I can safely say that this is not the case as I was falsely banned for 8 months by former staff. I wouldn't allow such things to happen to anyone. I can tell you how we decide that, we look at the evidence we collect before issuing any punishments. A common complaint from players is "X Mod muted me for no reason", the complaints usually go as follows "I post all warnings, screenshots and reasons for the mutes" and they either realize their mistake or they don't but nobody gets punished out of the blue. If they do, feel free to report it.

This invalidates everything you say because this is just not the case ever, like never ever would a scammer get a pass for scamming anyone. Your definition of scamming is different than ours. Someone posting that they want to sell a rather average Pokemon for 500k, is not scamming. Long time players do not get a pass for anything, in fact they are punished the same way as everyone else. There is criticism and then there is ranting about stuff because X/Y/Z. I have players who are disliking me because I didn't ban people they wanted to see banned (e.g lack of evidence). There is obviously deeply wrong if you think they can not take criticism as in fact if they actually done mistakes they would be taught how to improve. Most of the time players are just wrong, as sad as this sounds. As Moderator Team Leader I oversee complaints about my moderators and from experience I can tell you right away that 95% of these are just players ranting about a punishment when it was well within our Punishment Policy and rules were broken. Players may not agree with rules but that doesn't give them the right to break and then complain about it. Can you give me an example? Not the case, just explaining things from our POV. We already made changes based on this thread so this is just not true. What is excessive? 5 more letter? 20? I draw the line at 5-6 because there is no reason for that. excessive = more than is necessary, normal, or desirable; immoderate. Are 5 or 20 more letters necessary? This is again just not the case or even remotely close to reality. I would like to see screenshots or a video of this actually happening in the fashion you are describing it. I don't believe that is the case, drawing a line when its excessive is part of moderating spamming. Should you get warned for using 3 more letters or something? No. Should you get warned if you EXCESSIVELY use unnecessary characters. 100% yes as it fills up the chat with unnecessary things. I would like to see the evidence of that, obviously Mods can NOT break any rules and get sanctioned for behavior like that.

Comments like this are discouraging, nothing else. We made the thread for a reason and you discrediting helps us 0 %. Is there a need to use excessive letters? Is there a need to spam? Is there a need to use vulgar language? Is there a need to be rude? Those are all very simple things yet some don't agree with that. There are also some that don't agree with the game being PG and want to swear like nothing else. Those things will not happen, with all due respect to everyone, we have to moderate otherwise it just ends up in chaos. How do I know that? I was there when no moderator was online and those things were left untouched. It was unpleasant to be around at best. A warning is just that a warning, even if you are muted it doesn't go on your record. It becomes very apparent that it's just "community vs staff", at some point and we will not have that type of thing in our game. Help Chat is that, a Help Chat. We have an All Chat for conversations, if the conversations goes too far off-topic you get warned. Helping new players is one thing, using Help Chat as second All Chat is another. We still answer if posts come around. I will not comment on that whatsoever, it is not our area and we keep your opinions about it to ourselves. There are differences between Discord and the game, you need the game to play, you don't need the Discord to play. No, rules are different per medium
