  3. I'll just give me quick thoughts on this subject (I wasn't part of the discussion in staff as I wasn't in staff when this happened). First and foremost this decision was not reached by "my" PvP Council as the PvP Council never made it out of development given I quit staff for a few months & it was my project. The decision was reached by all sorts of staff members in our staff discord in a channel called "PvP Council" however that name is a little misleading, the skills from our staff range from top tier players to bottom-feeders like me. I am a numbers kind of guy when it comes to bans, meta changes and such things given my knowledge about PvP is restricted to when I laddered early on, on the Yellow Server. I would like to think that the skill cap back then was much higher, given my rating placements back then (520/521) would in todays time be #1. In that time things like Talonflame dominated the ladder, it was basically a free win, the meta played so different than what it is now. Taking skill out of the equation entirely going forward. Manaphy was in the team. Had Baton Pass. The second one played with it twice and won twice. Had Togekiss both times. Had Baton Pass. The third one played with it seven times and won six & lost one. 3/7 were with Baton Pass on Scoli, he won two, lost one. Togekiss was on all 3 Baton Pass teams. [*]Two people popped up a few times that played Scoli with Baton Pass, both have not reached Top50 in rating. [*]Gold Server Out of the Top25, 6 people played with a Speedboost Scolipede. There are 4 people who used it as a main team for most of the season, they had a mix of Togekiss and Manaphys. There is one guy who used it 3 times and won 3 times, he used a Togekiss in the team once. There is one guy who used it once and lost, there was a Togekiss in the team. There is one guy who used it once without Baton Pass, had a Togekiss in the team. So my conclusion just based on numbers is really simple, it shouldn't be banned at all. The people who used it as a main team are also players who are naturally good at PvP, several Top25 finished, Tournament finishes etc. It didn't matter that they had H.A Scoli with Baton Pass. I hear people saying there is a bug with Speedbost when you swap into it from a Pokemon with U-Turn/Volt-Switch that you get the Speed for free, on the same argument you can say that any Pokemon with Intimidate cripples Scoli since it can't pass speed and another stat. PRO is not Showdown/Smogon, we should never treat it that way. I have disregarded most of these complaints when I was still Moderator Lead because exactly this reason. It is banned here and there, who cares. PRO is somewhere stuck between coded stuff from Gen5, Pokemon from Gen6, mechanics from Gen7. We don't have so much important stuff for actual competitive PvP and you all want to ban something that is barely used, sometimes used by god tier players who are already good and can ladder without it? I had the PvP Council in mind because I wanted to give players what they wanted but most people don't even know what they want or PvP, people who backhanded complain in Admins DMs or on PRO Discord are the ones who haven't played the game in months. It saddens me that those people even have a voice, they shouldn't. They don't play but ask for bans when majority of the people don't play it. It is a shame. Anyway, the numbers above from the PvP logs might be a little off because of logging issues from time to time but nothing major. It should still be fairly accurate. Best wishes, Q8

The development time can rather be spent on something like a blacklist for Pokemon/Abilities instead of bringing back a mindless Pokemon from a time where everyone just run it, it will just force everyone to carry a Pokemon that can deal with Talonflame once again. I voted for I don't care as in the end, the PvP community has to play with this but there are better suggestions and things Devs should look into when trying a more refreshing meta. A blacklist would achieve such a thing by trying to dissect obvious problems (win% to pick% of Pokemon) and such things.

  11. We are very clear with our plans for the game however there are big misconceptions about the duties of each team. The new region has quite a few members of the content side of things while the Devs are not involved in it at all. Fixing Lending-Trades and Server issues was a big priority while everything else was put on the downlow, current Dev priority as far as I understood is the new Dashboard (which has features I am very excited for), then PvP-update should be very high up on the list, which sadly was delayed and delayed because other issues that took priority. Mind we have 2 Devs working on things while we have a two dozens Content staff working on quite a few projects. Stuff takes time but people are always working on it.
  12. Majority of the stories circulating around about why, how and why PokeOne was created/why Shane left PRO are false or total lies. Just getting this straightened out to begin with. The code was a buggy mess, however Eaty and Cames worked on it like a lot and its much easier to add, change and fix things now. The QoL changes Eaty has achieved in his time as Dev by far surpass Shane's, if I am completely honest and this comes from a players as well as from a staff perspective. Eaty coded as much in a night than Shane in a year for this game when Eaty got access. PRO was never a lost-cause, it just needed some love and it needed a bit of work. Eaty, Cames and the Content team already take inspiration from various different sources to achieve the best experience possible however a lot of what PokeOne has to offer are either not suitable for what we are trying to achieve with the game or are simply just bad ideas. This has been a thing for idk a year? So this is already a thing for quite a bit. It hasn't, background work is being done. PRO has a two-man Dev team with different kinds of goals and objectives, fixing server stuff was on the top priority the recent months, then the new Dashboard which is pretty far already. They can only work on so many things, many things are background things players not really see. However Content wise it hasn't slowed down, it actually has been in the best place since PROs release, the content team is in the strongest point in PROs lifetime circle. Games don't just improve in a few days, it takes time, time from people who go to school, have jobs, families, kids and do this as a passion project nothing further.

Just so you guys have some input from the Moderator team, the minute we get guild history logs (which we currently don't have), we will make buying members for rating a banable offense, just like boosting but for the suggestion, you have my support on it as well, I would very much agree with it.

  17. The council will by default consist out of at least 1 Moderator and 1 Trade Moderator, to exactly avoid these things. The people I have in mind are closely integrated in the community and we have tools to check for almost everything. All in all, if this occurs even if I hope it doesn't, those council members are subject to removal and may receive in-game bans as well. We will not tolerate any form of abuse or leaks, not even the smallest ones. I am very strict with policies and rules, so you can bet on that ^^

  21. Just a wild guess, could be 3 people with the same rating in queue but I would guess you were just unlucky at that moment. I don't understand what you are suggesting really :/
  22. 3 people are in queue You with 400 rating, player A with 100 rating and player B with 220 rating. The game will queue player A against player B because the rating difference is only 120 while your difference would be 180-300 rating. I am all for changing how rating is done in ranked however this isn't even remotely up to me sadly.

  24. The queue system is not the problem here, it's the active playerbase in PvP or the time you are trying to PvP. The system searches for someone within 15-17 rating range for a brief period of time, it expands the search more and more till you find someone suitable. If nobody except the 1 Rating guy is in queue, it will take a bit but you eventually will be queued up against them. There is nothing wrong with the queue itself, rather the players playing PvP which is a whole other issue.
