Suction Cups/Sticky Hold's out of battle effect is kinda what we need to make fishing in this game better, though. Fishing is not good exactly because "no bite" happens far too often to the point where it's ridiculous that fishing still exist in the game, it might as well be removed, and should have been removed months ago considering how useless it is. Honestly, fishing in this game, as a whole, really needs to be either removed or get a major overhaul, something more than just "let's enable Suction Cups/Sticky Hold's out of battle effect". I agree with -1 on other out of battle effects though. Most of them should have their description modified instead, with the out of battle effect removed from the description. But I'm not sure how to change Illuminate's description considering its out of battle effect is its only description lol. Perhaps new PRO exclusive in-battle effect should be added for Illuminate? Pickup however, I'm kinda on the fence about it, the pickup table can be modified so that it doesn't pick up more valuable items like hyper potions, stones, nuggets, rare candies, and ultra balls at a moderately high rate, it could be made into a very low rate to pick up just regular potions/poke balls and oran berries, and only after a battle. But I'm not sure how much it would affect economy.

Hmm, yeah. True. So I guess I'm still +1 on this, but only under the condition that everything is shown except moves.

Make Excavation great again [An In-Depth Excavation Suggestion]
Starlight replied to Norex's topic in Suggestions
I personally like Fresh Water more because it doesn't drop happiness, haha. I'm the kind of people who prefer to keep my Pokemon's happiness at max. Unless the happiness drop isn't programmed in PRO? I know Revival Herb does drop happiness, so Energy Powder should too. Ah, it's already 2.5k? Nice then XD -
+1 You know what, the info that shows up when we click a link from other player, should have been the exact same info card we see when we click our own link/Pokemon. The smaller, less complete version should only be used for the feature that show the nature/ability/IVs of our latest catch.

Make Excavation great again [An In-Depth Excavation Suggestion]
Starlight replied to Norex's topic in Suggestions
I read mostly everything, and honestly, +1 to everything in your post. I wish Fresh Water become common again in excavation site though, so maybe while Heal Powder is replaced with random vitamins, the Energy Powder is replaced with Fresh Water and be made as second most common "drop" after Artifact Pieces. Also, there should be a reduction to the cost to enter the Excavation Sites. 5k per site was fine back when we only have like, 6 sites, but now we have 9 sites. IMO, the cost should be reduced to 2500 per site. -
+1 I'm already aware about how Birth Island works, but adding a warning for others wouldn't hurt.

Yeah, regarding compensation, while I got a nice Lunala out of it, I do wonder and don't really get why WQ as a compensation. WQ is one of those things where it's very easy to "fail", leaving some people with no reward. So where's the compensation if they don't get the reward? And by "fail", I mean it greatly depends on spawn RNG for whether we get enough Pokemon to get 0.5% contribution or not. Not to mention the IVs, which are also depending on RNG. Wouldn't something like free gifts makes a more proper compensation that all players can enjoy, considering all players were affected by the crash? For example, "free gift of two Master Balls, one BMS, and two 3 day MS for all players". That's just an example,

[Feedback - Megathread] Valentine Event 2021 ❤
Starlight replied to Shinohara's topic in Announcements
Server issue is actually unrelated to the event itself, so I don't think it should be brought up here. Anyway. Enjoyment: I do enjoy the event, I love seeing new maps and forms. Quest Difficulty: This is for the main quest only, I didn't do the Cupid Bow quest since I feel "eh, not for me" regarding how it looks. The main quest is not too easy, but also not too hard and annoying. It's perfect. Story/Lore: It's good. I'm particularly amused by the Nidoqueen-Jellicent part XD Effort/Reward Ratio: For the main quest, I'd say it's fine. The Cupid Bow quest on the other hand, although I didn't do it, deserve a mention here - I don't think just one cosmetic item is a good enough reward after going back and forth traveling through an entire region to deliver all those letters. Maybe if there's something like a Master Ball as well for the reward, it would be more worth it. The Ayva's bag mini-quest, it's a fun little addition that's easy to do, but 1 gem is just too little, as easy as the quest is. Especially since it's a once per day quest. Should be 10 gems, in my opinion. Or instead of 1 gem, it should be 1 of those arceus plates, since they're really rare to get from digging. Also, something to point out regarding spawn, the chance is not revealed again for whatever reason, but I feel like the chance for Valentine form is definitely not as high as 1/550 (Walross said Valentine chance is 1/550 in 2019), or even Halloween's 1/50, and even that I feel has been nerfed too, last year's Halloween event doesn't feel like there's 1/50 chance for Halloween form. IMO, regardless of what's the event, special event form chance should have standardized "tiers" as well, at 1/200 for tier 1-3 spawn, 1/150 for tier 4-5 spawn, 1/100 for tier 6-7 spawn, and 1/50 for tier 8-9 spawn. The harder it is to encounter the Pokemon in the first place, the easier it becomes to encounter it as special event form, which I think makes it balanced. A tier 8 spawn shouldn't have the same 1/200 chance as tier 1 spawn for event form considering it's already super RNG (or super costly, when repel trick is involved) to encounter the tier 8 spawn in the first place, it should have gotten a higher event form chance to balance it. -
I wouldn't mind this. HOWEVER, it would be much better if the custom balls be at least as effective as a great ball (not poke ball), and also have additional effects on top of that. Doesn't need to be complex effects, just something simple, for example a Rocket Ball would be even more effective on Poison, Psychic, and Dark types. So that there would be more reason to use them beyond just cosmetics. Plus, there should be matching special animation when you send out a Pokemon from the custom balls. To be honest, this should also be applied to all the balls we currently already have.

+1 This would be great, because currently, to see mega stats, you have to go through one turn first (the pokemon info card does not change in the same time as the mega evolution, it only changes at the end of the turn) So if the battle ends in one turn, the pokemon info does not display the mega sprite and stats. An update that allows us to see the mega sprite and stats out of battle would be great.

Nice update, I hope Hoenn and Sinnoh can get fully reworked too. Or have they been reworked?
-
We're all waiting for PC system update even since before we have Sinnoh XD But yeah, the staffs are aware of it, at least.
-
That would be nice. At least the rock star and pop star pika's costume, since those are a cosplay of the trainer's Contest costume (in OR/AS) to begin with. And yeah, now that you said it, I think there is indeed a lack of yellow colored clothing

So basically, decrease the reward but let people battle more bosses?
-
See, that's exactly one the issues here. I did check the stele again out of a hunch, but nothing in the quest even hinted at checking it again. Or maybe there was a hint at the door of forest boss room, but most players escape via Escape Rope or just relog in the middle of the battle with the boss, because who the heck wants to walk all the way back to PC. And then many players are left wondering why the first lever they used to enter forest boss room doesn't work again, and the explanation everyone keeps saying is that the lever changed, so have to check another object for the new lever. Oh and I still clearly remember the stele does hint at the hole between the two trees, like you said. But that's it, that's the only hint given, nothing is being said about the new lever. The lever definitely changed, my first trip involves the berry bush, my second trip is the skull guarded by litwick, and my third trip needs the welcome board. But the stele doesn't hint at the changes, only about the hidden path. And using the hole between the two trees is not even necessary to access the underground area where the new lever can be accessed, so the hint is not even that useful. I'd say pretty much the only false thing in my post was the word "everything", since yeah, I admit that part is wrong, there was no need to check the items triggered on the first trip since those don't work anymore, so just need to check the rest of the items, not every single one of them. On the other hand, I can imagine those first few players who first did the quest, are clicking on every single thing on the map to find out what the new lever is......

Just edit the guide. For quote and stuff, just backspace. Or highlight the quote then delete it. -
Nice collection, and nice sorting XD

I'm guessing people either post their guide in the WIP (work in progress) subforum when the guide is not finished yet, or type their guide in like, Word or Notepad until it's done before posting it in the Guide subforum. As for signature, click your name on top right of the forum, then Account Settings, then you'll see Signature option on the left side of the page -
The fact that Gen 8 Pokemon are on the dex does imply that the staffs likely will add them in the future, but how far is that future, we don't know yet.

Enjoyment : Overall, enjoyable, EXCEPT the mountain part in the quest, that's all I can say. But I can't say I'm not puzzled at your spawn choice here. During the quest, we saw Wishiwashi in Burring Strait Underwater, so why Dhelmise is the one spawning there? Wouldn't it be more logical to have Wishiwashi spawn there, while Dhelmise is in the "~*so inaccessible it's mythical*~" Corsica Island instead? Also, the fact that we have to go all the way to Evergreen's last cave for Treecko spawn. It feels like it makes zero sense putting Torchic and Mudkip spawn in Matsuki but no Treecko, considering Evergreen map has all 3. Quest Difficulty: I personally had not much issue with the forest area since by the time I'm doing that part, there is a guide online already, but some people, especially those doing that part before there's a guide, find that part incredibly confusing. Did you test that part in any way? I'm probably wrong about this, but it feels like you might have simply tested the quest from the perspective of a programmer, but did not test the quest from the perspective of a player. Programmers naturally would already know what to do in the quest, they're likely just testing to see if their coding works. But players don't immediately know what to do. I think, the problem here, is that there's just not enough hints and too much object to check in the forest area. Plus, if we have to leave the boss area, the lever changes, meaning players might have to check everything all over again. And now the one I and many others have the most trouble with: the mountain area. Having a difficult part in the quest for a mythical, that makes sense. But this is just way too much. Multiple superboss that not all players have a way to deal with, with the last one carrying hyper meta team, as in, all meta high tier Pokemon crammed into one team. After a few losses, I eventually had to borrow a friend's bossing team to get through that MCX boss (and the rest of the quest, which all also involve superbosses). Good thing I have a friend that lets me borrow his team, but what about those who don't? Again, it feels like you're not testing this from the eyes of a regular player. Also, the incredibly long trek players have to do if they lost to the Mega Charizard X superboss team, not to mention the second half of the trek needing Flash AND is a maze. This, I really think you never actually try to feel it yourself. After a few trek, this isn't difficulty anymore, this is just plain being annoying for the sake of being annoying, and it feels dumb. Story/Lore perspective: I have no issue with this so I can't say much about it, just that it's fine. Effort/Reward Ratio: Considering the massive difficulty AND annoyance for the mountain area, we probably should have gotten a lot more, like say, the Keldeo should have been guaranteed to have 3 31 IVs. Thankfully my Keldeo ends up decent, but I can imagine the frustration of people who after going through all those superboss, ends up with a terrible Keldeo. Or, we should have gotten something really valuable in the end in addition to the mythical, like a reroll ticket + a nature reroll ticket, or free 15 day ms + free BMS. (Maybe make those valuable items untradable so that the market is not affected much, though)

+1 Yeah, escape rope already teleports us into Pokemon Center anyway, if someone wants to heal just walk up a bit to the nurse. IMO, Escape Rope should either: 1. teleport us to the entrance of the cave like in official games, but with team fully healed like it is now in PRO or 2. teleport us to Pokemon Center, but does not heal team But not both teleport us to PC and fully healed team. What's even the point of force healing our team when we're in Pokemon Center anyway? Either the Pokemon Center or the healing feels incredibly redundant.

I don't think they'll ever going to reveal it. However, ages ago, some players did figure out the formula for "required EXP to level up" in PRO, and realized it involves "Base EXP Yield", something that's in official game is NOT related to "required EXP to level up" at all. In official games, Base EXP Yield is the base number of exp given by a species of Pokemon when you defeat it in battle. Basically it's supposed to be the base number of exp received in battle, but for some reason in PRO it's involved in the formula for EXP required to level up. But it's such an old formula (it has been like that since the beginning of PRO) that's directly tied to PRO's exp system, that I think they can't change that bit without massively changing the system as a whole, so they just don't bother changing it. Anyway, Base EXP Yield is the main (probably even the only) reason why it takes more EXP for evolved Pokemon to level up in PRO, since evolved Pokemon has higher Base EXP Yield.

Christmas event Map and quests are a terrible chaotic mess
Starlight replied to Kumapx0's topic in General Game Talk
You only need to check a few objects, known ones are: - axe on a tree - RIP tombstone - skull with litwick in underground - signboard - berry bush - tree with mushroom on it - pumpkin - pile of leaves For me the most stupidly difficult part of the quest isn't the forest, it's the mountain. If it was a string of regular boss it would have been fine, why it has to be a superboss gauntlet? Even more frustrating if you lose to the Mega Charizard X team since the walk to get back to him is ridiculously long. I ends up having to borrow a bossing team from a friend. Thankfully I got a decently good Keldeo in the end, but with how degenerate that mountain part can be for me, I feel like I deserve to have an epic Keldeo lol
