How does this system matter now that the synchronize pokemon has to be in the first slot?

How does that matter though? The discussion here is not about wether the synch can be dead or alive but about to have the needed level for the repel trick for it to work because the synch has now to be in the first slot to get the wanted nature.

No, back then it only changed in the original games not in PRO.

Im guessing they reverted back how we want it but synchro is still 50% chance.

I don't want to have to grab my synch to hunt another lower level synch to then have to train it specifically for a single repel trick (that could get removed at any point with no warning with a revert or removal like this one), to then go and have to get other synchs for every individual repel we need, and if we accidentally level it more than we wanted to (example: eevee repel is 23-24, ralts is 5-7), we'll have to go and hunt another one again... and we have to ensure it's the right nature and it has synchronise.
