Much has been said about how annoying and expensive it is to reroll your legendary Pokemon. With the amount of powerful legendary Pokemon being released, this is a bigger problem than ever before. It is currently difficult to imagine a properly constructed PvP team without at least one legendary - the likes of Landorus-T, Tornadus-T, Thundurus, Manaphy, and Mega Diancie simply have no comparable huntable replacement. Because of this, I would like to present a mathematical analysis on how difficult it is to obtain a legendary that is able to function in its role - having sufficient speed to maintain its speed tier, and the correct hidden power if necessary. I will only look for average secondary stats (HP, offenses, defenses >= 15). These statistics were computed using a script that simulates rerolling a legendary over and over until it meets certain parameters. This was posted in the PvP forum as it is most relevant to PvP players. First, let's consider this (admittedly subjective) list of essential legendaries: Essential: Niche: Let's consider only the 10 legendaries listed as essential. Here are the speed IVs they must meet to remain in their speed tier: Let's take a look at how many rerolls it would take to obtain bare minimum speed, reasonable secondary stats, and Hidden Power if necessary (Mean | Median # rerolls necessary in 10,000 simulations rounded to nearest integer): Sum total: 1877 mean / 1305 median reroll tickets needed for simply playable stats. Source code can be provided if anyone is interested in double-checking my work, but arithmetic will show that these numbers are reasonable. I think no one will disagree when I say this is unrealistic for the vast majority of the playerbase. Of course, the primary offender is Hidden Power, but I would consider these numbers unacceptable even without the [Ice] electrics. As frustrating as it is for players, I can't imagine it's profitable for the game, either - with these numbers most players simply won't bother rerolling, weakening the economy. My best suggestion for mitigating this issue is allowing players to grind to increase their legendaries' IVs up to a maximum of 15. I'd love to hear any alternative ideas. As an aside, this forum needs actual moderation. The Greninja thread was a cesspool of low-effort posts and blatant misinformation - Keita eventually closed it, but ideally we would be able to engage in productive discussion without these sorts of distractions.8 points

I personally don't think you understand how economy works, The current system hurts the economy. You're giving money from one player to another for an item to delete said item. The money never leaves the economy building inflation (prime example someone hitting 1b poke dollars last year or multiple people over 100-200m). The current system for rerolls is terrible for the economy, if you look how the item is traded and used it should have never been a tradeable item it should have been put on an npc to delete money from the game at a set regulated price by the GM. (There are no current good money sink's in pro.) (saying good legendary's = economy is also falsified by it doesn't delete money from the game.) The problem now is its too far late for that type of system, because peoples incentive to pvp is pvp coins for rr to sell same with pve. looking at current statistics lets say after all legendary's are added *59* in total not counting ultra beasts which puts the number at 70, lets say the current price of rerolls are 750k each current price that's 52.5m in poke dollars to roll them once. Not counting trying to get the viable 10-15 or counting the uber tier banned mons, at 10-50m+ depending on your luck with the right Nature/Hidden power. This is not counting if its a new player coming into the game. The current sys for legendary's are bad as well but that's another thread, because pro is not new player friendly at all with its current systems. Saying don't use legendary's in pvp is also another problem I'm bringing up with your post, playing with out legendary's in pokemon pvp is actually not only crutching your self but playing at the highest level gl. Also Saying just choose it from ladder tour, you're not aloud to choose legendries there is a list of mons you choose from and if someone requests a certain mon it that mon cant be chosen for over a month after. The only tourney you can choose a legendary is summer tour (BTW NEVER GOT RAN LAST YEAR) even on the selected dates KEKW. This thread is a +1 from me as someone who has purchased CC's and traded them for rerolls seeing the current statistics and actual numbers for the chances, even reading Evilprotag's post on it being like a predatory gacha system. The current system is terrible for not only inflation but the economy.2 points

Hi there @Hisoka007 Apologies for the delay. The IV's set that are saved are always the last 3 iv's sets (including the current iv's you have). It's good to note that what @ZetLocrito95 said is indeed correct. Currently your Zapdos has the current iv's as you can see by speaking to the NPC : 8, 21, 12, 20, 30, 19 (The set of iv's from the reroll before #2 or when you caught Zapdos, that depends on the amount of rerolls you used) 21, 24, 27, 20, 25, 29 (The one that is epic) 3, 16, 27, 5, 13, 4 (The current set) I have listed in order of old to most recent. So in this case, you cannot reroll more than once your Zapdos in order to save the IV's you want, you can also not reroll at all if you prefer. So to answer your question , yes, if you change it to the epic one you will be able to change it again to the HP ice since your HP ice is your most recent reroll and the epic one is the 2nd most recent. Let me know if I made everything clearer for you, I understand that you really want to save those two iv's sets so don't hesitate to ask more if anything is unclear. Have a splendid day!2 points

I was just thinking about this a few days ago and it's a big reason why I keep going back to showdown instead of playing pro. My idea was: the more rerolls you put into a specific legendary, the higher the iv floor is for that legend. With a cap ofc. For example: 1st rr: iv floor of 1 5th rr: iv floor of 5 10th rr: iv floor of 10. Numbers can be tweaked and stop wherever staff sees fit. As for hidden power, just make an expensive item that lets us pick it and it and adjusts our legends current ivs up or down by 1 to fit that.2 points

This is something i have been very vocal about for a while, but have never made a thread about it. So here it is I find this "mechanic" to be very unhealthy for the game, not only by how it makes pvp less fun, but it also encourages pvpers to not play multiple games in a row, or change their teams after every match to avoid getting either counter teamed/getting the same (bad) matchup again. The latter is especially annoying, its not a matter of just playing it better, some matchups are just polarizing to the point of *forcing you* to change teams. Changing teams after a match is NOT something thats very plausible in an MMO setting, this is especially true for newer players who have just finished their only team and are trying to get their foot in the door of the pvp scene. In some cases, this could be a "good thing" allowing you to "farm" a new player over and over for free rating and coins, this may be a "good" thing for one person, but the person on the receiving end is almost certainly not having fun. I would suspect some new players have given up on pvp solely because they queue up into the same ladder player over and over For someone like me, this mechanic is just HORRIBLE for content creation. I was trying to record a 45 minute video the other day and got the same person 4 times in a row. Obviously fighting the same person 4x in a row isnt something a lot of people would like to watch, so I always only include 1 battle. This 45 minute recording session turned into a 3 hour session of boring hell, and completely ruined my mood for the rest of the video. Now, since i bring this up a lot i hear these 2 arguments against changing this mechanic. First is usually "this is a thing in many other games too" I dont find this to be a good argument at all, mostly for the reasons i stated above. It encourages you to play a different team every game, which is not a viable way to get around this in an MMO setting like ours, hunting/buying/preparing full teams takes a long time, its not something you can do overnight. And "it would make queue times too long" I do not think this would have an impact on the ladder queue at all, again for the reason i stated above. The current system encourages you to only play few games per day, at peak hours to ensure you get the most diversity possible. And even if this does impact the pvp queue times, theres a very simple solution. Make finding the same person 2x in a row an optional setting. Also something i didnt even think of, this would help stop boosters. Thanks for reading, have a nice day, let me know your thoughts on this.1 point

Ye, sadly stuff like this is pushed aside handled as "I read the suggestions but I dont answer them because it tooks to much time". I made a similar suggestion https://pokemonrevolution.net/forum/topic/158551-hidden-power-for-legends/ In August 2020 After asking in the Q&A's I have to sadly say that in the first Q&A the statement was that they are thinking about new concepts about the reroll stuff, in the second Q&A Wally said smt like "I am happy how the reroll system works rn and I dont have plans to change it" ... Feeling hardly ignored about suggestions. But this one seems to be bigger. Also here some extra calculation: --------------------------------------------------------------- Chance to get a Legend with 1 stat random, 5 stats over 20 (and usually you want a higher speed and spatk/atk... I compensate it with the fact that lower defense values are often accepted when those stats fit): 0.01782 Chance to get the fitting Hidden Power as well: 0.00019805 How often you need to reroll in order to have a 50% chance to have 20+ stats + 1 random stat and a fitting Hidden Power: 3500 times1 point

+1 I have terrible luck, getting usable legends to pvp with is a pain I've found it quite strange that you pay reasonable monies to buy a regular pvp mon with good ivs, but you can spend millions on legendaries and not get anything out of it except for premature hair loss and ulcers1 point

did that dude take a look at these numbers "Sum total: 1877 mean / 1305 median reroll tickets needed for simply playable stats." and goes like, damn those numbers looks easy asf. idk about you, but 1+1 here does not euqal "whats their use if u get legendaries as easy as possible??" oh and this part " if u want nice legends why not just win summer tournament or ladder tournament are they made for just a showcase?" 1. we are still waiting on summer 2020 tour hehe xd. 2. believe it or not ladder tournament dosnt give you legendary pokemons. 3.reroll system is for every1. idk the excact number of pro playerbase but its atleast 1-2k active player if not much more, you think a bad system is fine because once every year the winner of summer tour gets a guarantied legen? Those things are not even in the same category lmao. 4. We dont ask for "nice" legend, we ask for a system that can RESONABLY produce USABLE legends. 5. are you seriously telling people that the solution is : git good, just win a tournament that happens once every year. Yeah im sure Bob here who just started pro 2 months ago will be like "sure, that sounds reasonable".1 point

Unfortunately, we do not plan to add anything that is a nature change for normal Pokemon or similar. They are really rare stuff that should be a reward for the Summer Tournament only as they have always been I can definitely understand it's not good to have your synch failing when you find a good Pokemon, but at the same time PRO is an MMO and as such is normal that it should be harder than any other pokemon official game. Allowing a change of nature for the Pokemon can potentially lead to the destroy of the economy and have problems for what regard the activity of the players. Have a good day.1 point

How old are you and where are you from? 27, Korea Why would you like to join Trinity? You guys landed 3rd this past season, Id rather join a 3rd-5th place guild than top two since it motivates me more to help push you guys to the top and being a part of the guild roster that gets to number 1 baby! Were you part of another guild in the past and if so which one? I was in Callusdaddy in Gold server (recently transferred) What is the highest rating you've ever got? Gold may have a lil different dynamic/meta in pvp but I got to 260+ using hyper offensive teams or Sand team What do you enjoy most doing in PRO? I am very competitive in everything I do (competitive in a motivated way, all positive vibes/reasons). so I enjoy PVP What else other than rating can you contribute to Trinity? Games are all about fun, especially the fan made/fan supported private mmo servers. I provide chill/fun vibes to the guild lobby, will be as active on both game and discord, and provide help where I can in terms of questions regarding game. Add a picture of your trainer card in the application. What is your Discord ID? Moonz#97761 point

+10000000000 Thanx for the time and for the work. Hopefully Wally will watch and read it all (doubt but will see), might change his mind about this topic.1 point

So: - Rerolls are currently always in demand, because "elite" players want "epic" legendaries. - Rerolls will remain always in demand if it is reasonable to obtain decent legendaries. Instead of the ultra-rich spending 844 rerolls on an HP Ice Thundurus that may or may not appear, more average players will spend 10 or 20 rerolls to obtain playable legendaries, which is something that is currently out of their reach. Rich players will reroll more niche legendaries for experimentation - think of all the Kyurem and Moltres rotting in players' boxes right now. Are they bad Pokemon? Not necessarily, but the current system makes it more or less impossible to justify spending rerolls improving their stats. More reasonable numbers will only increase demand, not reduce it.1 point

Reroll tickets currently sell for ~750k. If we assess the value of a playable legendary at 10M, it is only worth spending 13.3 rerolls on a legendary at their current price. As the numbers in this post demonstrate, that investment is not likely to yield a playable legendary. This shows that rerolls are currently priced based on their scarcity, not their value - I would expect little (if any) change in price if rerolls are buffed or other ways of improving legendary stats are introduced.1 point
-
yes exacly, i've been very vocal about comparing the reroll system to the predatory-gacha system beeing used all over the gaming industry. I hate it when in the past when ever people post complains about the current reroll system there comes a bunch of white knight defending it by saying "oh if its to easy then you get everything 31 iv, no point of playing the game". I love the fact that you can show people the numbers of how bad it actually is. The complain have persisted and nothing have changed for 3+ years now. Its incredible predatory as mentioned before and go agianst the pg 11 politic PRO is trying to appear as. By introducing this straight up gambling mechanic to ur pg11 playerbase. If it's not okay to say "poop" in all chat, then it should not be okay with this kind of pro-casino roulette rolls. Another thing is that this is exactly the reason which make players very frustrated with staff generated poke in pvp. To different degree ofcourse but i think i can say we all agree that we feel somewhat unfair after looking at the reroll odds us playerbase are playing with, while staff generated lando/zapdos/latios rolls in with perfect ivs and chosen hidden powers. That just increase the unnecessary conflict that shouldnt need to exist. I understand a replacement system is tricky, but idea like a buffer system that builds up the more u rerolls, or a mechanic that allow u to push 1 specific stats up which all pokes living in a important speed tie like 350 really need. Those idea have all been brought up in the past and i consider them all very valid. Hell you can probably add in a pvp quest for Ramona like : win 100 pvp games and u get to reroll a mon where u keep 1 stats the same, like the rerolls from events before.1 point
-
I agree on all these points , and ive always disliked the pro reroll system. Even though i hate being against the current , i do have some concerns about changing it because it's not as simple as buffing reroll tickets in some way. As much as i hate the rerolling system, i also believe that it kind of balances out the economy in it's own way . Yes rng is a [very nice woman] and spending more and more money on rerolls does not guarantee you a decent legendary . This mechanic is absolutely horrible. Rerolling legendaries is basically gambling , and gambling is addictive , people will never give up rerolling because of the gambling adrenaline rush . Gambling as a whole is such a predatory system , but that's another can of worms that i will not really get into . But reroll tickets are a currency at this point just like coin capsules. Making rerolling less rng dependant will certainly lower their value . I have never been the best at economy but i can certainly tell that dropping a currency's value by a huge margin will have a big impact on the economy. I do not know how it will change it , either in a positive or a negative way but it certainly will. This will be a huge change towards the game whether you're a pver or a pvper. The staff really should make an educated decision here because it will decide the future of the economy of pro. Just wanted to lay out these concerns , im not opposing to the idea at all though , +1 from me.1 point
-
This is a huge +1 from me. The reroll system is currently so bad its a shame. The pvp meta on PRO suffers GREATLY from this. I've tried to explain this multiple times to no avail. This point is stressed even more by new players, how are they supposed to build a variety of teams with a variety of legendary pvpable pokemon. This discourages new players to pvp, further stagnating the pvp scene and meta.1 point

Giving recent behaviour issues from many people here, some involving as well the thread owner, I am actually forced to close this thread as it's not leading anywhere in any case. Our Council Leader will make a post, with my help to make it clean and understandable for everyone, to explain the bans as soon as possible. Eventually we'll give chance to comment below the thread where stuff is explained, As for votes, regardless of how much you will ask, we won't make one cause votes, +1, petitions, polls and similar makes absolutely zero sense as I have explained before. To make you an example, If I would make a vote regarding if adding a 3x3 empty map where we gift Legendaries, more than 70% of the community will say yes, but does that mean the decision is the correct one? Absolutely not. What we consider are valid arguments supported by facts, evidences, calculation and in general data collected. In short, arguments that are actually proved/possible to be proved. You want to know why greninja was banned ? Aside from the [heck] ton of content in this thread that you choose to ignore , go read everything that was said by top ladder players who have gotten ladder consistently over years in the pvp council discord server ( i would be happy to provide the link https://discord.gg/sTh5Mqb3 ) . There are NUMEROUS THREADS on smogon , on youtube , on freaking pokecommunity on why greninja is banned . Sources are everywhere , all you need to do is go to this link :" www.google.com " , you click in the searchbar and you type "greninja ban" or "greninja ban smogon". Simple right? And yes , thoes who are laddering do get to decide for everyone .With all due respect , people who do not pvp , or people who are not experienced in pvp do not get to vote on the matters of pvp. I thought that was obvious enough. There's a reason why minors do not get to vote in elections. It's because they are not mature enough and do not understand enough to vote . This is the exact same case here , why do people who do not know anything about pvp get to decide for people who play for pvp? Want to be a grown up and get to vote on matters of pvp? Go get ladder. So instead of riling up like a bunch of kids and using cheap methods like starting a petition with a VERY low number of votes needed as a matter of fact (seeing that both servers combined average to about 1.5k players at any given time), Go get ladder. You think greninja does not deserve a ban and you want your voice to be heard? Then prove that your voice deserves to be heard and you guessed it , Go get ladder. Disclaimer : This is not directed towards @iammeetdpbecause he has proven himself and gotten ladder multiple times before , this is directed towards every godamn kid in here who keeps arguing nonsense while getting presented with facts and numbers.1 point

I noticed on battles, that status moves such as Toxic shows "POISON Failed to have any effect" when it misses, same to other status moves. And, it also shows "POISON Failed to have any effect" when it's used to a Pokemon Immune to it such as Poison Types (except for Steel types which shows "It's completely Ineffective!") this is also the same to other status moves such as Thunder Wave to Electric Types which also shows "PARALYZE Failed to have any effect". So my suggestion is, to change their battle logs to avoid confusion, here is an example: When it's used to a Pokemon Immune to it: Before: Rotom-Wash used Will-O-Wisp (on a Fire type, which is immune to it) "BURN Failed to have any effect" After: Rotom-Wash used Will-O-Wisp (on a Fire type, which is immune to it) "It's completely Ineffective!" Before: Chansey used Toxic (on a Poison type which is immune to it) "POISON Failed to have any effect" After: Chansey used Toxic (on a Poison type which is immune to it) "It's completely Ineffective!" So basically: Immune = "It's completely Ineffective!" this actually confused me before because I thought it was missing, until I discovered it's immune to it, this will help new players to know that its immune to it. Same to other moves when its used to a Pokemon which is immune to it. When it misses: Before: Clefable used Thunder Wave (Then it misses) "PARALYZE Failed to have any effect" After: Clefable used Thunder Wave (Then it misses) "The attack misses" Before: Tangrowth used Sleep Powder (Then it misses) "SLEEP Failed to have any effect" After: Tangrowth used Sleep Powder (Then it misses) "The attack misses" So basically: When it misses = "The attack misses" same to other moves when it misses, so it can be more understandable.0 points

If you are the Guild Leader, you will also be able to promote them to Officer. /gdemote name - This will allow you to demote an online member from Member to Initiate. If you are the Guild Leader, you will also be able to demote Officers. /ginvite name - This will allow you to invite a member to your guild. /gkick name - This will allow you to remove a member from your guild. /gleader - This will allow you to transfer leadership onto another guild member. Yep, that's correct. If you never reroll again you can switch back to the epic one and HP ice one using the NPC function without any problem since both of these iv's sets are you most recents and they are saved.0 points
