Mega Evolutions Megathread: Second Wave! Guide in progress (draft)
Desumi replied to Bhimoso's topic in Work In Progress
Hey, just wanted to correct one thing. You don't need to have an 25+ IV in ATK on your Garchomp. I got to challange Cynthia with my own OT, with just 24 IV in ATK. (Here is a screenshot below for proof) I do not specifically know if it even has a IV parameter, and if it has, would 20+ IV in ATK be the case here? Or is it perhaps allowing players with 24 IVs to barely pass? Or is it perhaps a bug that the developers are yet to be aware off? I don't know, I can't really test that theory out myself, so hopefully someone else can confirm that. Also I know my Garchomp sucks, don't bully me too hard. (yes, its not even half-decent. It was just there to die...) I literally one-tricked her entire team with my last poke, being a Blissey Toxic-stall. I suppose if you need a easy way to beat her, use a toxic-stall tank with a setup of one rock and 3 spikes Battle time trigger: Also, I could trigger her battle sometime between 3:30 AM and 4 AM. The moment the sun was up during the morning, it triggered the dialog to battle. I do not specifically know when the first time to prompt the dialog started, as I was downstairs eating and it was around 3:30 Ish I think, when I came back and tried to trigger the battle dialog. Hope this can contribute to making this guide more informational and correct for others who might want to get the Garchompite as well. -

Announce important changes in the in-game welcoming message
Desumi replied to Kary0plasma's topic in Suggestions
+1 I like the idea. But... what if they actually made a information box instead, that pops up once a player log in and something important has happened. (Will only trigger once) That way, even the newest players won't be able to miss it and it will reduce the amount of confusion. As you said, a lot of players who are confused right now, are either; not aware its even posted in the announcements channel on Discord, not even a part of PRO's Discord server, or don't have Discord installed. To eliminate and reduce the much confused audience PRO has created right now, a better and simple solution is what they should be aiming to create in the future. But, I can understand from the developer's POV, that changes like this is not easy and will require a LOT of effort and time to put in place. After all, the project they were handed over, were basically spaghetti. -
+1 Would be interesting to see them be added in some way.

Due to the recent crashes, the developers on PRO have identified the server crash issues being related to Dig Spots, Headbutt and Excavation. And in an attempt to prevent further server crashes or to at least reduce the initial ones, they decided to disable these features. While they are working on the new client, and until they are fairly safe to assume that the new client is stable, they will sadly remain disabled. To stay up-to-date with information related to PRO, you should consider joining PRO's Discord server. New updates or important information is posted in #Announcements channel. So be sure to join to stay tuned for new information regarding this.

White Angel Wings lost due to Server Crash - no rollback!!
Desumi replied to Kessilein's topic in General Bugs
I cannot help you in any regards with this issue, however.. You should take some time to read Hit by a rollback? post. It may help you gain insight on what happens if you loose something during a rollback, server crash or other unexpected events on PRO. Sorry that you've experienced this, you're sadly not the only one who have lost something to the sneaky rollbacks or the common server crashes. In the future, you should consider using the command /save in chat. This will save your progress to the database and potentially prevent a 5 minute rollback and losing your previous progress. This command has a 30 minute cooldown, so use it when you've gained something you don't wish to loose. I don't know if purchase made through the coin-shop is excluded from /save command or if they are a special case when it comes to rollbacks/server crashes. So I'll leave that part to an experienced PRO staff to explain. -
I agree. This has been requested a few times throughout the years I've been here. I agree that there should have been a toggle for such trivial things like that by now. HOWEVER, right now their focus is on fixing the server crashes AND the new custom region that's been in the making for the 2-3 years(?) But, that doesn't mean suggestions like this shouldn't be added. You can read about things that may include this change in their Dev-to-do list and their priorities.

Dig Spots, Headbutt and Excavation has been temporarily disabled to prevent further server crashes, until a fix is potentially found. I've gone ahead and edited PRO's wiki pages for these 3 features and added a notice block to each one. This will notify the player that this particular feature has been temporarily disabled until a fix is found. Feel free to use the pages below for future references. Wiki pages: Headbutt Dig Spots Excavation To stay up-to-date with information related to PRO, you should consider joining their Discord server. Any important changes will be posted in #Announcements.

To addon to the answer above. If you don't use Discord or want an alternative way of checking (i.e if they are still disabled) see below. You can check out PRO's wiki pages for Dig Spot, Headbutt and Excavation. I've put up a notice block on each page to let players know that this feature is temporarily disabled. Once they are enabled again, me or someone else would update the pages and remove the notice block.

Sounds tempting. But I doubt that the PRO devs will leave digspots/headbutt and excavation areas disabled for a long time. Its just a temporary solution to prevent further crashes until a new version is released. So I'm not sure why there would be any need to replace temporary items for the more exclusive rewards from digspots (basically the items you get money in return for). But, who knows. Maybe there are others out there who might want the same thing as you. As for myself, I'm not entirely sure if that's a good or bad idea. Furthermore, if it was to be implemented. It would have to be added to both the Kanto and Johto PokeStops to make it equally balanced.
-
They should totally make an announcement on the forums as well. Would be useful for those who don't even have Discord installed in the first place

Could be interesting. Although I'm no "super fan" of the Anime and could have given plently of other characters that would fill in the same spots (But I don't want to upset the mainstream "weaboos") I guess its basically what's mainstream to watch. At least add Midoriya or All Might from Boku no Hero Academia. I'm sure plently have seen it, else they're missing out.

You can easily farm Mental herbs, White herbs and Power herbs weekly from the Herb Sisters on Route 34. You can rechallange them on a weekly basis, making it a excellent spot for farming these. See this Wiki page for more information. I don't know if there is a NPC that sells Mental herbs, so I can't give an answer for that. I would sadly have to give this a -1 I don't think it needs to be added to any PvE or PvP shop when you can get 2-4 every week from battling a NPC. -
I can confirm that this is also happening on some other areas. (Just recently happened whenever I entered "Maniac Tunnel" in Sinnoh, it defaults me to Pallet Town) But I can't replicate the other areas, that is not in a cave or exlusive area and provide more evidence, as I've already tried it several times without luck. It seems like whenever it cannot "find" your location, it defaults Pallet Town as a last resort to at least display your character. Considering the huge update to the World Map a while ago, there is still a lot to be fixed, before it becomes completely "bug-free". I'm sure they would have a fix to this soon, but I guess its not their top priority right now. Considering new region, new mega wave, PC box update etc is having priority. Check out their DEV to-do list for what they currently prioritize and have planned out.

Yeah, white text on white background is not the best combination, that's for sure. Pretty sure its just a thing they overlooked when they switched forum provider last year.

I agree that it may in some cases confuse the average player when displaying information about the "out-of-battle" effects from moves (i.e HM Fly) or abilities (i.e Intimidate). When those effects are intentionally disabled or not coded on PRO to make the game more challenging. However, adding many of them would in a way break the flow of the game. Basically the same reason they intentionally decided not to include EXP share item in the game.

Welcome to PRO! I used to play on my DS back in the days as well, but I played Pokemon Pearl and Diamond back then. If you need anything, let us know. And hope you'll enjoy your stay here on the forums!

I used the last 7 hours reading through every single documentation, post, support tickets, provided by mediawiki.org on potensially overiding the skin manually. And, after 7 hours I finally found myself the solution... In short, they allowed for a parameter called "useskin" to be applied to the url, changing the user's wiki page style manually. By simply calling the parameter "useskin=vector", it would load any page fine again, and I was able to manually set the wiki skin to Vector because that is the default and working skin. I suggest that someone in charge and who have access to edit the skins file, disables "Modern" skin, which is the original skin from 2008. As the current code basically breakes the account or any page when loaded in with that skin. For someone with such access, please take a look at this section here, for a documentation on how to do so. I'll just mark this as a solution.

Is there a guide on how to be a forum guide god like Bhimoso - for newbies? Just casually reading up on your guides, because they are pretty helpful. And long, very long, wait, did I mention long? Actually pretty enjoyable just scrolling through your guides. Gives me some inspiration to work with.

In that sense, wouldn't just buying 5 Hyper potions be better? And you can find nurse joy around in popular caves, which can heal your Pokemon for 2500. Is there any way you can elaborate more? Like give a good example on how to utilize your idea? I.e You can choose to use 3 out of 5 charges in a single turn when healing a Pokemon.

+1 While, the idea of adding these items isn't too bad and as they are pretty "common" to posess and find. They could easily become a common thing to recycle in both single and 10s, for smalll and larger rewards. But imo, the whole Item Recycler system should in a way be reworked. Its kind of boring, there is nothing that really drives you to try again and again. If it only had like a 1/1000 or 1/9000 chance to perhaps give some unique item. I would use it more often.

This is basically a "bug report". But there is nowhere to post Wiki bugs... So, here is a "question" instead. So I'm more or less pleading in a support section for help, and hopefully some kind souls would rescue me eventually. I recently got myself access to editing the PRO wiki, like literally 2 hours ago... Must be a new world record in finding a bug on PRO's Wiki after just getting access to an account And the curious person I am, I started tweaking with my account settings after finishing up a guide. I happened to stumble across, what at that time seemed like a decent settings. Little did I know... that one of those listed skins... namely... "Modern" would crash the website whenever you are logged in with a account who has applied it. Is there any way to reset the user settings manually or have a admin fix it? Whenever I use PRO wiki, while logged in. It cannot connect to any site within the wiki domain. It says that it refuses to connect. Most likely due to the broken skin "Modern" that I applied before the page crashed. As far as I am concerned. It haven't affected the website in general. Only my user account when logged in. Hopefully there exists a solution to either reverse the changes or delete the account and establish a new one. Because I cannot access the wiki while logged in, and I cannot contribute without having an account, if I want to create what I have planned.
