  1. I think a simple name change of unranked to ubers and an official ladder for ubers would be good for the community and it would open a new world of legends that could possibly come to pro because they would actually have a purpose. The reason I say change unranked instead of making a whole new game mode is because nobody ever uses unranked, I sit in queue almost 40 minutes at a time waiting for a match and when it comes its usually people using ubers anyways

  2. I am shocked this is even being considered. I seriously hope this doesn't happen. However, if it does, all Gen 7 mechanics/additions should be reverted back to Gen 6. New moves, Alolan forms, status changes, new abilities, and new stats would have to be changed accordingly. Gengar's Levitate would have to be back. Mantine would lose Roost. There's more.

  3. NO NO NO. Sometimes I wonder if people who are actually managing this game have a brain. Lot of people ask for consistency with the original games but staff keep on doing irrelevant things concerning the meta. There was a post months ago where players were asked if they wanted to follow smogon rules concerning moves and abilities PRO actually allows to have on certain pokemon : some wanted to follow what smogon says and others wanted to take into consideration PRO meta features. Once again, you pay for not having clearly defined your positions from the start. You should, for the sake of this game, say if you follow smogon (in that case, this post is irrelevant) or you want a game with specific features (in that case you need pvp council to manage this kind of issues). As far as I am concerned I want this game to follow smogon rules. Smogon is full of competitive players who make decisions for the sake of competitiveness and consistency. Idkup has already summarized smartly why talonflame ability shouldn’t be sent back to what it was before its nerf. I dont have anything more to add. One last thing, instead of wasting time on this kind of futility, take the time to correctly code the missing movements, we are fed up with your broken promises regarding pvp. For those who only talk about economics, if you want to play a management game I recommend SimCity.

  4. Maybe this is not really related to the topic but I will tell you the reason why I really dislike PvP on PRO even when I'm a really competitive person. - PvP definitely need a better love in PRO. As you can see, there are almost 0 topic about PvP discussion on forum recently, no one want to talk about it, competitive players either got banned or left PRO. But moreover, there are no trustworthy person for us to ask for PvP changes. - I don't get any hype from PVP changed, most of times. As I said, i'm a competitive person and I don't care if you make change for some useless PvP mons, I only care about some meta breaker pokemon or some top tier mons. The only time I got hyped is when you added "Auroveil" to this game, cuz I know it gonna change the meta a little bit. - PRO are way too careful when they think a new pokemon gonna be OP. Example: what is the point of adding kyurem to this game but not kyurem-black. kyurem is usable but it's too far from being good while kyurem-black is actually a mon which fit the meta, but I know you will never add it to the game. maybe you think its gonna be OP if you just look at its stats but kyurem-black is not that good, just a usable mon and thats it. You want to change the meta but you never take the risk of meta being changed, that is how PRO works. IMO, new mons added should be OP because it will hype ppl, then we can start discussion about banning a pokemon if its too OP. Isn't it the reason why we need forum? Now you just bring back talond, a pokemon which everyone already know how good it is. I like the way you want to change the meta but it's 100% so many better ways to do that. - just fix u-turn and v-switch bug, I swear PvP will get 1000% better if this bug got fixed, this is why meta never changed. I still vote YES for this poll even thought I don't really like it. I vote for it because I always support when ppl don't follow smogon rules, ofc when its make sense. PRO meta is not even close to smogon meta, we just need a right adjustment. Hey guys, we forget to ban "Baton pass", a move which completely got banned in gen 7+ following smogon rules, stop abusing it in ranked

  5. This is probably the dumbest suggestion to ever see the light of day. There's no nicer way to put it. Banning Chansey makes more sense. Banning Fearow, as was suggested in jest, makes more sense. With that out of the way: I. Economy Talonflame has been gutted for a long time. Randomly increasing the value of a single Pokemon for no good reason (see later sections) would essentially be giving up on any sort of effective economy where value is persistent. When Talonflame was nerfed, everyone knew it was coming eventually. This is the equivalent of giving Kyurem (if it were tradable) (and likely now Garchomp as well) Dragon Dance from Generation 8, arbitrarily skyrocketing its value. This will be abused, no matter how vigilant moderation staff is. II. Consistency There are so many things that do not work properly on PRO, but most of the differences with Gen 7 standard mechanics are due to the game not being complete (missing Pokemon, moves) or bugs (U-Turn / Volt Switch). The only precedent for this kind of change is Tail Glow Phione, which was questionable in itself but largely ignored due to its uselesness. III. Actual Effects on PvP For reference, Talonflame sets will be listed here: Talonflame @ Choice Band Ability: Gale Wings Adamant Nature 252 Atk / varying HP / varying Spe - Flare Blitz - Brave Bird - U-Turn - Roost / Will-o-Wisp / Steel Wing Talonflame @ Sharp Beak Ability: Gale Wings Adamant Nature 252 Atk / varying HP / varying Spe - Swords Dance - Brave Bird - Flare Blitz - Roost Talonflame @ Leftovers Ability: Gale Wings Careful Nature varying HP / varying Atk / varying SpD / varying Spe - Taunt - Roost - Brave Bird - Bulk Up / Will-o-Wisp This is a fundamentally polarizing Pokemon, and not one that allows for interesting developments in the metagame. Choice Band sets can invalidate current offensive builds on a whim, Swords Dance excels at shattering certain builds of Balance, and Taunt makes for an excellent stallbreaker. Much like Manaphy, which people continue complaining about to this day, Talonflame's list of true answers is short and often can be chipped out by status or hazards. Rotom-Wash and Tyranitar cannot take U-Turn forever, and incorrectly evaluating the set can have devastating effects - Tyranitar hit by Will-o-Wisp, Thunderbolt Clefable nailed by Choice Band Brave Bird. While there is no doubt that Gale Wings Talonflame would not be broken, adding polarizing threats does not make a metagame more fun. We can see this both by looking at what Smogon bans and does not ban, as well as player opinion on PRO as a whole. Recently, Smogon banned Galar Darmanitan and the Dynamax mechanic at large. Galar Darmanitan has never had the presence of Landorus -T in previous generations of OU, so why was it so quickly sent off? While answers to Landorus-T generally come naturally in teambuilding Gen 7 OU, Galar Darmanitan is polarizing. It forces players to run soft checks such as Rotom formes, or subpar Pokemon in hopes to wall it. Talonflame is much the same - while sets like Defensive Garchomp and Defensive Rotom-Wash are strong and popular, they cannot reliably answer Talonflame alone, as it can defeat them over time. Now, let's take a look at the archetypes PRO players love to complain about. 1. Rain It's quite self-evident what rain teams do. You pack a Kingdra answer and a Manaphy answer or you lose. People hate this archetype. 2. Stall Stall is hated because of its ability to drag out games which feel hopeless for the losing side. It's also more complicated to answer than Rain, but just as polarizing nonetheless. Why combat this by bringing back a similarly polarizing and uninteractive Pokemon? There are plenty of more interesting options if bulky Balance truly needs a boost - Victini? Tornadus and Thundurus? Even Volcanion can make Balance's somewhat difficult Rain match-up much, much stronger. Lastly, we've seen this all already. We know what Talonflame does. It would be better to bring in truly new Pokemon rather than unleash an old tyrant once again. tl;dr: don't change Talonflame's value again; be consistent with Gen 7 as much as technical limitations allow, who the heck thinks Talonflame would be a positive influence on the metagame

  7. What have people been drinking lately? I thought people were running rain teams lately, not beer teams... Anyway, to answer the poll, no. You are crazy just to propose it. Idkup already shared most of the technical info i'd have had. Furthermore, why exactly is there no ETA for battle revamp when at the beginning of 2019 was ''eta 2/3 months''? Interesting. I guess another one bites the dust. Remember when Shane promised Megas in 2016 and even introduced some mega stones in the game? I am not going to lie I am sad right now. Please, instead of finding the time to get the community to decide whether to bring back old completly broken sets to ''refresh'' (???) the meta, why not take the time to try and figure out together how to get basic things such as VoltUrn and Substitute to work? Now THAT would absolutely change the current meta for the better.

  13. I am STRONGLY against this. Why would we ever want to GO BACK a gen for just 1 ability. Either everything would need to have gen 6 mechanics or nothing. It makes 0 sense. Galewings was nerfed for a reason. It was dominate even WITH all the legendary pokemon PRO is missing. I literally cant think of a single good reason this would be allowed. Imagine someone new trying out the game. "Oh this is gen 7 mechanics nice... wait why does this talonflame have priority at half hp?" I'm sorry, this is just a terrible idea

  17. We know about double votes, no need to point that out, staffs are not stupid. :D

  18. I support this idea be cause 1: right now unranked is pretty dead and 2: it gives an incentive to use banned pokes like genesect, shaymin, darkrai, and actually gives meaning to these otherwise useless pokes. It also promotes the release of new legendaries that would otherwise be banned in regular play.

  19. You can even do "suspect test" here and if its rly rly popular u can consider doing vote like this to move it up to the main mode, but just out of the blue doing this vote with out testing is meh.,..

  20. I still think a testing period within pro before voting would be better than a blind vote where people can only assume what will happen

  21. I wont even waste a single second reading this, sinceit comed from the guy that says: Volcarona is a rain sweeper ^o anyway. knew many wouldnt agree. and ok. i get it, many dont like it. all i wanted was simple: shouldnt have ever changed from gen6 to gen7 when we lacked so many things, gen6 was incomplete, which made this gen7 super incomplete. all im saying. But bring the hammer and hit me with it for sharing an opinion that u guys dont share ^^

  22. Talonflame can also fit on stall teams. It can run a nasty bulky set with either Taunt or Will-O-Wisp. It can be physically defensive, specially defensive, bulky but offensive (Full HP, full Atk), fast and offensive. It can run Swords Dance, Choice Band, Leftovers, or no item at all to switch into Knock Off and abuse Acrobatics. Do we really want Bird Spam teams back?

  23. Honestly, this is the stupidest poll I ever seen. They nerfed Gale Wings for a reason in the original games. To make the meta more challenging! See, after the nerf, now only if you are full health you can abuse gale wings, which challenges you to position yourself better while playing Talonflame. Have a better composition in your team with defoggers, spinners, magic bouncers, anything to avoid stealth rocks. It makes it more strategical than monofinger! This is the grace of playing a strategical game. If you want something easy, isn't it better to just play minecraft? PRO is trying to be loyal to OU, which is the reason why you guys banned Arena Trap. If the mentality is to go back to gen 6 instead of going farward to gen 7, then bring everything back to gen 6. Im talking about the early gen 6 when Arena Trap was allowed, when Blaziken with Speed Boost was allowed, with Levitade Gengar, with Shadow Tag Gothitelle, everything! Come on, when PRO is finally becoming fun to play again, you guys just decide to ruin every thing. Talonflame is already good with Gale Wings nerfed. Please, learn how to use a Talonflame, don't rely on OPness. We already have a lot of OP/Broken pokemon like Dragonite, Heatran, Garchomp, Haxorus, Gengar, Tyranitar in this game which GameFreak forgot to nerf. Don't make it worse.

  24. If they just revert gale wings back for 1 week max like a suspect test just to see how it goes and let everyone vote again i think that could be better. Nobody can really know how talon is gonna be in this meta until it actually gets to be tested
    2 points
  25. Reverting only Gale Wings back to Gen 6 after all the Gen 7 updates (No Levitate Gengar, Alolans and so on...) that already took place is just ridiculous. So absolutely no, and I am pretty upset that this is even being discussed because it is just incoherent. If a revert just has to be done or voted on for whatever reason, it should be of everything, not just one ability.

  26. I really hope that a staff member will take the time to look into the IP addresses of the people who voted. Someone in this thread commented several times (seemingly on multiple accounts) and may have voted more than once. Polling should be done fairly, especially when the community is quite evenly divided on this matter.

  28. It was suggested to revert the ability Gale Wings back to gen6, until the battle rework (no ETA) is done to make PvP in PRO more enjoyable. I decided to make a vote on that to get your opinions on that.

  33. erm we are not here talking about gen 6 or gen 7. We are talking about talonflame specific so i dont understand what you are trying to acomplish. I myself would rather keep the state we have right now compared to taking back everything gen7 from the current game... but again thats not what we are discussing here no? And ur argument that gen 6 and gen 7 was not complete, well u-turn/volt turn which is pretty pivotal for the game is not complete, so should we go back to the gen before u-turn/ volt turn was introduced?

  34. But weather is a serious form of pokemon pvp there are different archetypes to the game, not just hyper offensive and stall you pepega

  35. Almost all post said no but the poll has so many yes in them. can I doubt about the results? I strongly disagree the idea. It is not reasonable at all. Talonflame coming back means, all grass type fighting type and non-talonflame resisted aggressive pokemons will have lower use rate. The meta will be totally destroyed. No trick room, no sun, no balanced team, nothing but talon aggressive team or bulky stalls and rain. like what it was before. The second reason is, if talonflame is coming back, you have to make entire gen 6 back, there is no reason for you to have gen 7 mechanics and moves but a gen 6 talonflame. if you are pushing to gen7 , then forget about the talonflame forever.
