  1. I believe the only problem here is speed passing, which no doubt, is the most efficient use of bp. Personally, speed passing's real problem isnt how solid as a playstyle it is, which dont get me wrong it is a solid playstyle but how effective it can be at the hands of any player, even unexperienced ones. As it stands i feel like the lack of options such as substitute and attract make scolipede a much less than ideal passer than what it was on smogon, forcing the player to run support from screens/veil if it wants to get more than one boost that it gets from protect to its abusers. Despite this even if youre going for only 3 abusers it can be enough to cover most teams and much of this comes from two mons, manaphy and togekiss. In my opinion this is where the unhealthy aspect of bp comes into play, manaphy, which some of you might already know my opinion about, is absolutely devastating with speed boosts, making it much harder to revenge kill by offensive means, its has its stops, spdef ferro, cm unaware clef, mantine but realistically any ho is just gonna have to rely on priority to take out this mon, togekiss is an even worse example, anything thats worse than scarf togekiss can only be scarf togekiss on steroids, it still gonna rely on flinches to get what it wants only now it has the speed or higher of scarf and np at his disposal. I hope you understand how problematic this is, the way i see it bp is arguably the least competitive playstyle there is, sure you can say archtypes like ho and stall arent much better but they both have they're assets in making a player better, ho forces the player to be more aggresive and relying on prediction to get ahead, stall is a good demonstration on how a player can take a really complicated aspect from pokemon, that being the exhaust of all/almost all of your opponents resources and play it to its advantage, its not always easy has there are tools your opponent has at his disposal to dismantle your team, therefore making a proper stall team while hard is very rewarding for the player. With speed passing youre essentially playing a formula, getting hazard/screens/speed boost/boosting with recipient and youre done, you either win or dont, it really doesnt matter tho because thats the extent of the playstyle, you do not evolve as a player therefore its uncompetitive, nako put it perfectly "When you play pvp, you can't rely on the success of a probability too much to do and that doesn't depend on you, it's the same as being against the competition itself." replace the context of air slash flinch with matchup speed passing can have and that about sums it up my thoughts on it. Its the main reason why i used it on tours and pvp ladder, since im very bad at aknowledging how good my opponent is, its perfect at fishing a good matchup, in case i didnt want to play agressive with HO or bulky offense or going safe and risk my opponent bringing something very strong against it. Also if talon was buffed again scoli would be much harder to actually bp, just saying :]. However there are other examples of bp not being broken, nowhere near of the level of speedpassing, using baton pass with other boosts like cm or sd, means its much easier to revenge kill not only the recipient but even potentially the passer, it also allows for creative combos, a lot of it can benefit matchups against just about any playstyle but mainly stall/balance. Drypass is also a good reason as to why bp shouldnt be banned as a whole, and sure there arent many pokemon that abuse that tech but i dont see why they shouldnt be allowed to use it because one mon made it unhealthy for everyone. Medicham for example, could use baton pass to its favor to force mons like cofag or reuni inside and bring something like ttar, this is an example of bp being put to good use, rewarding the player for predicting its opponent. Tl;dr: baton pass as a whole isnt a broken element of the game imo, i do however think speed passing is an unhealthy aspect that i wouldnt mind see it gone as it heavily promotes uncompetitive play, otherwise i feel like any other type of bp use should be encouraged.

  2. If all you are going to do is list random specific scenarios I can play this game too. I'm not trying to say that BP is completely countered, but the tools to stop it exist, use your prediction and teambuilding skills. Taunt - Scolipede is not the ONLY baton passer. Taunt is great for gliscor and mew. Not to mention you should be taunting these in the first place to prevent hazards/defog/will-o-wisp etc. Unaware - Not every pokemon is a togekiss. Some matchups will be favored more than others. Intimidate/Defog/Icy wind - What I was explaining here was that adding a stat change to the baton passer will make it unable to baton pass. These were only some examples. More examples would include haze, clear smog, roar, dragon tail, etc, etc Baton passing doesn't mean you instantly lose. Let's also keep in mind that no team is going to have 100% win rate. If it's a priority that your team does not lose to baton pass change your team.

  3. It's not the only one, but it's certainly the one people use in more than 90% of the cases when running Baton Pass teams. As such, taunt is no option to counter it whatsoever, bar the rare and niche prankster users that have access to it. The evasiveness drop Defog causes to the pokemon carrying Baton Pass, won't hinder it from baton passing. Not even in PRO, where we know how the move is bugged in correlation with Intimidate. Next time make sure to check if your arguments are valid, before involving yourself into a discussion. On the screens are the ladder results from June 2019 and November 2019. Both from the SIlver server. I'd advise you to check out rank 10 on the first screen and rank 18 on the second. Again, next time before you say something, make sure it's correct. While I don't necessarily think Baton Pass needs to be banned from the ranked PVP in PRO (due to the properly working mechanics, it definitely should from the ladder tour tho), I will always be against it as long as the people supporting it want to abuse the already broken Manaphy and the hax reliant bulky Togekiss, all under the banner of creativity and diversity.

  4. Baton pass should be banned from early unless Ditto Imposter transform is coded to counter baton pass.

  5. I want to clarify something. People talk about usage. If usage matters that much for people, then we should probably unban H.A Blaziken, Shadow Tag and Arena Trap. People can't see the forest for the trees. What about Speed and another Stat passing? Anyone thinks this was used a lot? We unfairly banned it then. I m very old in PRO Staff and the usage "argument"(I can't really count it as valid one) was always brought up by people who wanted something untouched. Also it would be good if the discussion include the PvP Ladder tournament and the impact of Baton Pass there. Countering Baton Pass team means being weak to almost every other team. Won't make other points, my points are clear already, I don't want to exhaust you or myself.

  7. There several thing people say about baton, some of them are correct and some of them are not.I've done this allready more than 10 times in ladder tournament discord and in officcial pro discord so its getting boring...but will do it one more time for the shake of arguement. First of,baton ban was caused by two thing. The nerf of talonflame(which meant that no longer you can revenge killpokemon that got boosted from baton and then you have magerna(ive seen some people argueing about necrozma.its not as important as magerna but you can say that ).So,people that say that magerna is not in the game, should understand this:the ban of talonflame was a big reason but even if talon iventually didnt get nerfed, the fact that magerna was introducee in the game would cause athe baton pass ban anyways. So talonflame getting nerfed OR(and i say or because its not a combination and thats the thing people fail to understand, that one of the reasons mentioned is enough to get baton banned)magerna being introduced is enough to get the move banned. Now,the most common respose on why baton is not banned(and im skipping the "ive used it so in my opinion its not banned cause its not a valid arguement nor something you can rely on) is the populatiry contest which is interesting.first people. were bringing up the fact that not many people use it(which again is not an arguement) but probbaly after some thought the arguement became "not many people find success with it.With all the respect towards community, most people dont find success with anything they use,and i know it sounds rude, doesnt look pretty but its the truth and the only way to make the best decision possible in topic like this is to be honest and objective. Im also gonna point out, that the only pokemons that could pass speed ,which is the most common use in pro(its not the best but will get to that in a min),are scolipede and ninjask.People can get a few seconds and think how surprising it is that talonflame 1HKO both of these pokemon...all i can say its not a coinsidence nor a happy accident. At last(i could be going for hours but its getting boring after doing it so many times),you guys fail to understand that breaking the meta with something thats supposed to be banned is not a progress for the game.Baton is totally fun to play and totally unfun to play against. It makes sense for people to be upset or mad or sad or whatever that it got temporary banned cause its really fun to use it but the game will never get any real progress if these basic things dont get fixed.People embrasse winning but what people should embrasse is competition and baton kills this unless your team is perfectly prepared to face it and those specific counter technic only counter baton.again, you are not gonna lose many games becasue of an unpreparation towards baton but the truth is,you should lose none...so personally i find it dismotivating losing to it. Best of luck to the staff team on the final decision.Peace.

  8. Baton Pass isn't very common or used in PRO. However, it doesn't mean it doesn't deserve a ban. Statics in PRO are not certain. So using the "this is not over used or this is over used" as an argument is invalid in my opinion. Ferrothorn for example is not OP at all and its over used. Tyranitar is OP and it is not being used at a lot anymore. I will list a few reasons why Baton pass should be banned. 1) Speed Boost is not coded properly. It is giving more speed than it should after volt-switch and u-turn. For that reason, a lot of people are abusing baton pass. The solution for this in specific would be banning Speed Boost until is coded properly. 2) Baton Pass is banned in OU. I know PRO and Showdown are very different. We can't even compare PRO with Gen 6, since there are no megas. I also know the MAIN reason why they decided to ban baton pass without even a test was Necrozma, Magearna and Manaphy. For some reason, Manaphy is not bannned in PRO and it is OP on its own. Baton Pass just boosts it even more. 3) Manaphy, Togekiss, Latias and wallbreakers can be really OP with Baton Pass. In my opinion, Baton Pass simply boosts whatever is already OP. It turns OU Pokemon to Uber. Why do you think Blaziken with Speed Boost was turned to Uber? Because having more speed than anything and the stats it naturally has is just Uber, and Baton Pass makes it possible for any other pokemon. As I said, Manaphy is broken on its own. But with speed increased it just has no counters. Togekiss with speed passed can be faster than anything and still Nasty Plot. I don't think Unaware Pokemon are proper counters because it can be flinched to death, specially if it is a Modest Togekiss. Not even weather pokemon will be faster than that. Specially with Speed Boost not coded properly. Latias with Stored Power, Speed Passed and Calm Mind.... do I need to say something? About the wallbreaker, well... they are bulky pokemon with a lot of damage, imagine if they had speed... well.. 4) The only thing that can counter Baton Pass properly is Trick Room, which is bad against everything else in PRO. Some would say Scizor might be good against Baton Pass... well, Scizor is a free pass to Manaphy, I would say. I really don't know anything that can counter a fast Manaphy... Maybe Scarf Serperior? Well, with the Volt Switch/U-turn bug, it will be +2, so nevermind... 5) Why is Manaphy not banned? Manaphy was Uber until Megas were out on Showdown. We don't have megas in RRO yet. I'm pretty sure everyone knows the Manaphy win ratio is pretty high, specially if it is Rain Dance set. When I say "pretty high" I mean, too high... in a way you can just rely on its "OPness" to win, instead of actually making some effort, which is the purpose of a strategy game, in my opinion. 6) Here's the link for the Baton Pass ban discussion in Showdown. You can take your own conclusions. https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/baton-pass-in-sm-ou.3604290/page-2#post-7370590 Please keep in mind Necrozma and Magearna are not the only OP things in Baton Pass. Don't just ignore everything I said about Manaphy, Togekiss, Latias and wallbreakers just because they haven't mentioned it in this post. 7) Before you say I am complaining about Baton Pass because it is good against sun. I really don't care about what counters sun or not. I was the one who reported the Burn Up bug. If I really cared about it, I would just keep abusing the bug and get easy wins like people are doing with Baton Pass, abusing speed boost bug and its natural OPness. I apologise my english isn't good enough to express my thoughts properly, but I think these are good reasons to consider?... well, thanks for reading.

  9. A Comprehensive Selling and Buying guide for Pokémon Revolution Online. Written by: Lysium and Forged. Introduction Greetings, Forged and I have decided to write this guide as a way of assisting new players in understanding the value of the Pokémon in their collection. We regularly get asked via in game message or discord, to price Pokémon. Although the art of “Price Checking” is mostly guess work there are many different things to consider when estimating the value of a given Pokémon. Below we have compiled a comprehensive list of things to consider when either selling or buying. Pricing is a combination of knowledge of the current PRO metagame, Smogon tier lists, PRO rarity tiers, and just how good is good enough to be competitive. Lastly a price check/estimation is a guess, a gut feeling. Prices can sway up to 50% based on who the buyer is and how desperate they are, or how competitive the market is for that Pokémon. *Please note that this guide is aimed at helping you identify valuable Pokémon for specific tips on selling and obtaining the best price please see the guide below. Selling Tips and Advice for PRO **If you have any comments or suggestions about this guide, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment below. Thanks 1. Rarity [spoiler=Rarity] [spoiler=Rarity] [spoiler=Rarity] [spoiler=Rarity]A rarity value or rating is given to a Pokémon based on how frequently they spawn during wild Pokémon encounters. The rating is a number scale from 1 meaning “abundant” or a very common spawn, all the way up to 10 “Unhuntable” meaning only obtainable through evolutions, boss rewards, fossils or some other means. It cannot be found through regular spawning mechanics. The value of poke increases significantly as the rarity of the poke increases. The rarity of a Pokémon can add significant value to it and should be one of the first things to consider when estimating the value. There are many helpful guides written on the forums about rarity and spawning mechanics. Including excavations sites, headbutt tree’s, fossils and boss rewards, please check there for further information on those spawning mechanics. Below is a link to the PRO wiki page with regard to the rarity of Pokémon in PRO. *Please note some of the rarity ratings on this website are outdated and not accurate. PRO Rarity Guide Example: In this situation even though both Pokémon are considered to be "Epic" and "PvP Ready" Blissey is by far the more valuable one simply because of it's rarity. 2. PRO Viability [spoiler=PRO Viability]Pro Viability is a difficult topic to articulate and many people can have a different opinion on the viability of a Pokémon. Essentially the more viable it is the greater the value. For example, While Ruby/Sapphire is infested with Shroomish, they are a fairly rare spawn in PRO, as well as being a competitively useful Pokémon (with the Technician ability) so the prices will be higher. Generally speaking, our advice is to look up on “Smogon” how competitive a Pokémon is based on the tier it is placed in. OU > UU > RU > NU > PU Most of the PRO metagame is between the Under Used (UU) tier and the Over Used (OU) tier. Tiers can change a lot and can be based on a variety of things such as team strategies, synergy etc. After determining what tier, a Pokémon is in you should research what competitive movesets are available to a given Pokémon and cross reference that with the currently available/legal move/abilities on PRO (some are either illegal or not-coded therefor not-legal in PvP). If a Pokémon is in the Over-used (OU) tier and has a viable/legal move set in PRO then the price will generally climb. *Note please see the following for a comprehensive list of viable Pokémon for the PRO metagame. With the release of Gen7 these viability rankings are likely to change significantly. PRO Viability list Gen6 **Note please see the link below for the current banned/illegal Pokémon, moves and move sets in PRO it is your responsibility to adhere to these rules. Any violation may result in your account being banned. Banned Moves PvP Banned Pokemon Example: In this situation again we compare Azumarill to another much rarer Blastoise with it's hidden ability interestingly Blastoise was the cheaper Pokémon because it's not very viable. 3. PvP Readiness [spoiler=PvP Readiness]The Value of a poke can increase based on it being PvP ready or not. Generally speaking, we add about 50k EV’s trained stat (510EVs) add up to 150k if EV trained and levelled. A Pokémon with proper IVs/Nature/Ability and Moveset is considered to be "PvP Ready" which can be seen as a convenience charge which can add another 100k on top of that. There are a few things that make a Pokémon “PvP Ready” this term is often thrown around a lot in the trade chat however it is not always used correctly. What makes a Pokémon PvP ready? · Trained: In order for a Pokémon to be “trained” it firstly needs to have its Ev’s administered correctly, often there can be a few different “spreads” for a given poke. Secondly a Poke should be fully evolved and at level 100. · Ability/Nature: In order for a Pokémon to be classed as “PvP ready” it should have the correct ability and a viable nature. For most poke there is only one competitive ability. Again Smogon is a good place to learn these. However, there are on occasions two viable abilities on a Pokémon. For example, a Venusaur can be bold with overgrow or modest with chlorophyll. They both constitute having a competitive nature and ability. *Note Pokémon that need their “Hidden ability” (HA) will be more valuable than Pokémon who do not require a HA. Venusaur is another good example of this. · IV/EV spread: A “PvP ready” Pokémon should have competitive Ev’s and IV’s. See below for more detail. *Note Unless you have a seriously “god” like Pokémon, you want to stay below the average prices of those "Tier 1" competitive Pokémon. While you may think the Pokémon is awesome, other people need to think so too or they'll pass over your listing. It's best to stay under the competitive prices of "Tier 1" Pokémon in order to sell quickly. If you are not in a rush to sell then you may wish to aim higher and hope for a desperate buyer. Example: In this example we compare two Clefables both of which have the correct ability and nature and both are almost "Epic" however one is considered to be "PvP Ready" and the other is not. In this situation it is reasonable to expect that the Pokémon that is "PvP Ready" could easily sell for an extra 200K. 4. Epic Status [spoiler=Epic Status]The Value of a Pokémon can increase significantly if it has “Epic” status. Most Top tier players will only use a Pokémon if it is Epic so what makes a Pokémon have “Epic” status. · Primary Stat: A Pokémon often has 2 sometimes 3 Primary stats and this will vary greatly depending on what role we want the poke to fill. A wall poke generally has 3 primary stats being Health/Defence/Sp.Defence. An offensive Poke Usually has 2 Primary stats Being Attack/Speed or Sp.Attack/Speed. For a Pokémon to be classed as “Epic” we need at least 25+ IV’s in each Primary stat. · Secondary Stat: The Stats that are not Primary stats are called secondary stats for a Poke to be classed as “Epic” it usually should have 20+ IV’s in each secondary stat. for an offense poke this includes defence/Health/Sp.Defence. For a wall poke this usually includes speed and either Attack or Sp.Attack. · Negative Stat: A negative stat is the one affected negatively by its nature, for example a bold poke has a negative stat in Attack usually this stat can be of any value to be classified as “Epic”. *Note this is only a guide and some Pokémon maybe require different elements to be classified as “Epic” like mixed attackers such as Nidoking. **Note please see the guide linked below for more detail on IV’s and EV’s PRO Bible: IV's, EV's, Nature, Abilities Example: In this Example we look at two Pokémon the first is what we would consider to be "Epic" note the Primary and secondary stats, The second at first glance appears to be "Epic" also however, on closer inspection we notice that it does not have the correct ability and therefore not considered to be "Epic". It is important to be very careful when buying Pokémon on the trade market because it can be very easy to overlook some details and you end up overpaying for something not very useful. 5. Market Viability [spoiler=Market Viability]The final thing to consider when estimating the price of a Pokémon is the market viability. For a variety of reasons sometimes the market can be "hot" or "cold" for not particular reason. Most recently Rotom has been a highly sought after Pokémon selling for up to 4+ Million. a few months ago an epic Rotom could have easily been purchased for under 500k. Obviously this has to do with the release of Rotom evolutions. However, it is still a good indication of how the market can be "hot" or "cold" on a particular Pokémon. Ideally it is best to sell a poke when it's “hot” and buy when it’s “cold” As the meta shift’s with the addition of a new generation of Pokémon more abilities and moves being coded into the game, prices are likely to vary significantly over the coming few weeks and months. It is a good idea to become familiar with these changes ahead of time to avoid making big mistakes. For example: Purchasing a Talonflame just before the introduction of Gen7. *Note at the end of the day it is your Pokémon and you have the final word on what you think it is worth. If you are not happy with the price, then simply don’t sell it or it could be something you regret down the line. Thanks for taking the time to read our guide. Peace <3

  12. Costs 25k/level to remove. Personally I'd like it to be able to delevel to any level, but you can also code it to only work on Lvl 100 pokemon. Frees up staff time. Is money sink. Frees up player time also. Edit: Should be easily accessable, ie. one in every region, mabye inside a building in the ports?

  13. Hi there, Sorry for getting it wrong the first time. I want to make it clear that even if you don't need to really full clear on the first time because most of the time, anything apart of the story can be repeated if you fail the first time. Of course there are areas that you won't be able to return to after the story, but they are areas that are solely used for the story. For example, from the top of my head, like you mentioned, the SS Anne, the Celadon Game Corner Basement, The Radio Tower, Magma and Aqua Hideouts, etc. These are areas that you can always repeat during the story if you fail them. Once you've passed them, you can't go back to them, because there isn't really much for you to go back to anyway. You'd lose very minimal things, or maybe even none. Please let me know if you need anything else.

Our content scripters and developers are working on it to fix it as soon as possible, but there is not an actual estimated amount of time for the bug-fix to be completed. We will update all of you on our Official PRO Discord as soon as it will be fixed and enabled again, please be patient in the while. I wish you a wonderful day !

There will definitely be an announcement when it will work again in the Official PRO Discord Server. As for the Christmas Altaria mount, unfortunately that is currently untradeable. There is however a rotation for what PVE Coin shop items are able to be traded every month. For the month of May, they are Snorlax Mount, S Snorlax Mount, Dark Diva Dress. I hope this clears up any doubts you had regarding the lending system and PVE items. Have a great day!

  24. First off: if the idea is to figure out whether it is too OP or not, and you have the ability to check win %, why would you ban it the first season after the baton passer in question is part of an heavily-hunted event? Let it run, check the numbers, see if needs adjustment. Right now you based a ban on an incredibly poor usage, in a game without MMR, on the base of people's opinion. Not how it works my dudes, ever heard of suspect testing? I do not think it is ban worthy. I have played a Scolipass team (the famous and feared one that GlogS used to play, and a few variations of my own) for hundreds of matches with guildies and friends: in the right hands it tears people, in the wrong hands it gets destroyed. Guess what, that's the case of every team :D Hell, when playing with my boy Sukres we even beat the ''broken'' Scolipede team played by none other than GlogS himself a couple times. So it is doable after all? -THE GAME HAS NO MMR! I will never stress this enough. We are playing against complete random people, the (very big) majority of which has no clue what they are doing. No offense, its just the truth, time and practice will make everyone better. A batonpass team can sweep a ''noob'', term which I hate but whatever, in less than 5 minutes. I can sweep a noob with any HO in less than 5 minutes, same with any folk who reached 1.7k+ elo on SD, ladder on PRO, won regionals three time or whatever e-peen number makes you cool nowadays. The teams I see around are not prepared for threats like Mamoswine, Serperior, Greninja...let alone some more ''deep'' tech that requires setup, and knowledge thereof. Lack of knowledge is the biggest culprit of people losing to this team. -Manaphy...I still hear about people wanting legendaries banned, or Chansey, because ''broken''. Come on it is 2020, we have an awesome thing called Google with plenty of answers and guides for you! Truth is it's is plain and simple, although for some hurtful: skill disaprity 80% of the time, 9% is having the better pokemon IV/cheese strat, 10% pure crit and status RNG. Last 1% is when the server crashes ;) I (mostly friends I am playing together with) murdered thousands of poor Manaphys at this point, poor little creature. He sets up Tail Glow and 6-0 you? Why did you let that happen in the first place. Think about how you lost rather than the fact you lost, or what to. That being said, an incredibly powerful Pokemon in the right hands. In the right hands. -Togekiss is not as reliable as one might think, although yes incredibly frustrating: all it takes is 1 turn with a miss, not flinch, a single crit, a wrong move (heal belling instead of roosting etc) and the match heavily swings in the opponent's favor. It's an annoying pokemon for sure, but not because of baton pass. A Scarfed one can 6-0 you with flinches too, I've seen it with my own eyes. An incredibly powerful Pokemon in the right hands. In the right hands. Ok not as much, can be all luck too in this case. Another, reason why baton pass is considered ''broken'' (it is only just really good!...in the right hands) is because many things that can destroy that tech...ARE NOT YET CODED! I mean they were promised for years along side other cool stuff, but I personally prefer having a double cool sword on my character's back :) -Volt Switch and U-Turn do not work properly, you need to select a pokemon before you see what the opponent does, which means adding prediction on prediction...absolutely crazy and the fact it is not coded after 4 years is not justifiable. That alone can gain you momentum against any batonpass or setup team and set you up to deal with it (or any other team, for that matter, yes even Chansey!). -Substitute. Should I explain how oppressive that move is and how punishing it is towards a possible baton pass...or stall (you know, all the people complaining that Chansey should be banned). Code that and the meta will drastically change. No bans needed! -Lunar Dance/Healish Wish etc: Trick Room would absolutely destroy the Scolipass team ft. GlogS. Of course, assuming skill level is about the same, which as I already pointed out rarely is. Cresselia easily eats +3 Manaphy with 0 investments, with could even force a 3HKO: Plenty of time to Trick Room and Lunar Dance to your sweeper and turn it all around. Healish Wish on a pokemon like scarf Latias/Jirachi (faster than 99% Pokemon who receive speedpass from Scoli) can revive one of your priority pokes to have a second chance. You should have not let that happen for free in the first place, but in case, it's nice to have the option to recover from a game. -"game is gen 7 based". No it is not. We miss a drastic chunk of the dex. PRO is PRO, or if you want it to be Sun&Moon, introduce all the possible pokes. I am talking about Tapus, Megas, Toxapex (special mention because forces Manaphy to run Psychic>Energy Ball, hindering its ability to deal with tons of mons), Lando/Thund/Tornadus, Keldeo...without talking about Z-Moves, which single-handedly can deal with issues in your team with 1 click... in the right hands. Adding different sets on Legendaries was a god send, about time (and im thankful for that, really!), but not quite enough to make the game balanced, competitive or whatever. We are missing WAY too many things. That being said, even with all those things missing, Baton Pass can be beaten. I appreciate the thought of trying to improve the game, I really do. You are just doing it in the wrong way. Some duct-tape on a leaking tube will not stop the leak :) ps: if there is anything I, or my friends, can do to facilitate the coding/bug testing or whatever of missing stuff, please reach out to me. Game has seen no real updates in ages at this point, I lost more friends switching games to the new ones I've made at this point :(

  25. Glad to hear that your issue has been resolved. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. With that said, will now be locking this thread. Good luck and have a great day!

  26. Hi everyone, I almost played every possible playstyles available on PRO (except maybe sand). And I came to a conclusion that matchup mostly decide the issue of the game. Whatever the playstyle you're using you have good/bad matchups which you can +/- be handled, but at this point, I assume baton-pass as the ability to handle a lot of matchups even some bad one with outplays, but i can certify that stall handles even more (not to complain for ban stall, just a fact). Taking in consideration things on Pro are not coded well, there is some +/- for baton pass, but I'm assuming there is more cons : Cons: Protect, Baton Pass (anticipation each time you wanna use), Intimidate (yes, you can't use it if someone intimidates you before you pass) Advantages: Speed Boost (possibly goes +1 when another mon faints, but it doesn't work everytime) I heard a lot of things these past days about baton pass. Some are saying that an average player with an average team will mostly loose to a new player playing BP, this is FALSE, refering to Prehax informations and the skillcap needed by bp on Pro. I've also heard that to beat BP, you need specifical counters, which EXIST, by "specifical counters" it was mean some things that aren't even usually played. THIS IS FALSE, and i'm gonna prove you it now. Here, is a link of one of the games from the final of ladder tournament, assuming those 2 people know how to play. One player is playing baton pass (will be named player 1), the other (player 2) is playing pretty classic team with 5 mons in top 25 Usage + Tangrowth which I also consider in top 25, refering to 4 last month. I'll let you some seconds/minutes, to look at the game, try to understand what plays have been made, what matchup is favorite etc... First view, the player 2 doesn't bring what we can call "specifical counters" of baton pass, he just brought some most used mons. The player 1 won. How he won the game ? because baton pass is op ? because baton pass destroys every non-prepared matchup ? No. if this game was played on PRO or baton pass is not to his advantage, I assure you that player 1 would have lost. There is another thing we can see, the player 1 doesn't play togekiss with BP, but togekiss is op with BP ? No, togekiss suffers from a lack of consistency, he may excel in some battles where he will flinch, but if he doesn't flinch and miss, the game will be over. When you play pvp, you can't rely on the success of a probability too much to do and that doesn't depend on you, it's the same as being against the competition itself. Togekiss is very strong when he flinches, but he's also mediocre when he misses and doesn't flinch, that's why relying on him as a pass stick is abusive, lacks consistency and knowledge. So, what conclusion should we take about this ? Specifical counters exist, and work against BP for sure ! But you don't absolutely need them to beat BP. BP will destroy its opponent if it had favorable matchup, like EVERY other playstyle. +1 for most of the things that Prehax said. I might comment again if some others things that hasn't be said come to my mind. Fum.

  27. So, usually a Scoli bpass team has 2-3 slow wallbreakers to abuse speedboost and no team can wall all 3 of them. The ideal abuser being mana/toge/luca which are insanely strong in this meta, it just becomes impossible to stop them after the speed pass. Talking about counters, I don't think anyone will bring a skarm/mandi/hippo in this meta full of tomwash. The ideal whirlwind users. The only mon which can handle them to an extent is unaware clef which ofc gets obliterated by luca/scoli itself or the flinch lord toge. Kudos to some players for the well made bpass team which is absolutely broken in ladder tours with a high win rate. One more thing which I'd like to mention is Espeon. This shit is no joke actually. With a meta full of conkeldurr, the useage of bisharp has dropped hard and its the only mon which can ohko an espeon after the boost. Espeon beats the phazers with its abi and what not with the addition of stored power it destroys everything after a boost with its incredible coverage for dark types. To sum up, I'm ok with drypass but totally against wetpass teams. They are just too strong to abuse imo. I'd like a flat ban on wetpass. Cheers!

  28. We should differentiate the use of baton pass in the ladder / ladder tournament. The main problem there is that baton pass is broken if coded properly. Playing BP in Pro isn't broken atm BUT it is 100% broken when used in the ladder tourn. (many reasons like having to anticipate the potential switch of your opponent before using BP makes it harder to use and maybe that's why it is not played much) It feels just like U-Turn / Volt-Switch = Essential moves which are not used much because they're not coded properly. The only difference with the moves I mentioned above is that BP is not legit at all IF well coded. So imo BP will def. be banned later on (I cannot see how can it even remain legit after the PvP rework tbh) BUT it's not broken at this point in the game. I propose to ban baton pass in the ladder tournament ONLY and to keep it in unbanned in the game. (It should be 100% banned when coded properly tho)

  29. I'll just give me quick thoughts on this subject (I wasn't part of the discussion in staff as I wasn't in staff when this happened). First and foremost this decision was not reached by "my" PvP Council as the PvP Council never made it out of development given I quit staff for a few months & it was my project. The decision was reached by all sorts of staff members in our staff discord in a channel called "PvP Council" however that name is a little misleading, the skills from our staff range from top tier players to bottom-feeders like me. I am a numbers kind of guy when it comes to bans, meta changes and such things given my knowledge about PvP is restricted to when I laddered early on, on the Yellow Server. I would like to think that the skill cap back then was much higher, given my rating placements back then (520/521) would in todays time be #1. In that time things like Talonflame dominated the ladder, it was basically a free win, the meta played so different than what it is now. Taking skill out of the equation entirely going forward. Cames provides us with the most used Pokemon data for every season: https://pokemonrevolution.net/forum/topic/142666-url Some numbers: The most used Baton-Passer for Speed (Scolipede) has not reach the threshold of 5-7% on any Server in the last 6 months. It never appeared in Top25. Manaphy appeared 3 times in the Top25 usage statistic in the last 6 months. 18. Manaphy 2971 9% 52% - #Silver November 2019 24. Manaphy 2220 6% 56% - #Silver December 2019 25. Manaphy 3038 6% 53% - #Silver March 2020 [*]Togekiss appeared appeared 12 times in the Top25 usage statistic in the last 6 months. This is no surprise, I reached ladder with Togekiss in 2016. Lovely Pokemon everyone loves it. 9. Togekiss 3966 16% 52% - #Gold November 2019 11. Togekiss 4613 14% 48% - #Silver November 2019 10. Togekiss 3756 15% 51% - #Gold December 2019 10. Togekiss 4158 12% 49% - #Silver December 2019 9. Togekiss 4381 17% 53% - #Gold January 2020 12. Togekiss 4504 12% 48% - #Silver January 2020 9. Togekiss 3575 16% 54% - #Gold February 2020 9. Togekiss 4832 14% 49% - #Silver February 2020 9. Togekiss 5230 18% 52% - #Gold March 2020 10. Togekiss 6175 13% 49% - #Silver March 2020 11. Togekiss 4854 14% 50% - #Gold April 2020 14. Togekiss 6168 12% 49% - #Silver April 2020 [*]PVP Season Results, April 2020 [*]Silver Server Out of the Top25, 3 people played with a Speedboost Scolipede. The first one played it once and won. Manaphy was in the team. Had Baton Pass. The second one played with it twice and won twice. Had Togekiss both times. Had Baton Pass. The third one played with it seven times and won six & lost one. 3/7 were with Baton Pass on Scoli, he won two, lost one. Togekiss was on all 3 Baton Pass teams. [*]Two people popped up a few times that played Scoli with Baton Pass, both have not reached Top50 in rating. [*]Gold Server Out of the Top25, 6 people played with a Speedboost Scolipede. There are 4 people who used it as a main team for most of the season, they had a mix of Togekiss and Manaphys. There is one guy who used it 3 times and won 3 times, he used a Togekiss in the team once. There is one guy who used it once and lost, there was a Togekiss in the team. There is one guy who used it once without Baton Pass, had a Togekiss in the team. So my conclusion just based on numbers is really simple, it shouldn't be banned at all. The people who used it as a main team are also players who are naturally good at PvP, several Top25 finished, Tournament finishes etc. It didn't matter that they had H.A Scoli with Baton Pass. I hear people saying there is a bug with Speedbost when you swap into it from a Pokemon with U-Turn/Volt-Switch that you get the Speed for free, on the same argument you can say that any Pokemon with Intimidate cripples Scoli since it can't pass speed and another stat. PRO is not Showdown/Smogon, we should never treat it that way. I have disregarded most of these complaints when I was still Moderator Lead because exactly this reason. It is banned here and there, who cares. PRO is somewhere stuck between coded stuff from Gen5, Pokemon from Gen6, mechanics from Gen7. We don't have so much important stuff for actual competitive PvP and you all want to ban something that is barely used, sometimes used by god tier players who are already good and can ladder without it? I had the PvP Council in mind because I wanted to give players what they wanted but most people don't even know what they want or PvP, people who backhanded complain in Admins DMs or on PRO Discord are the ones who haven't played the game in months. It saddens me that those people even have a voice, they shouldn't. They don't play but ask for bans when majority of the people don't play it. It is a shame. Anyway, the numbers above from the PvP logs might be a little off because of logging issues from time to time but nothing major. It should still be fairly accurate. Best wishes, Q8

  30. In my opinion the rule we had yet (Speed or other stats only) was a really good idea and I would prefer to keep it as it was. There is not so much players using baton pass and seeing something else than rain, stall or rng based teams (scarf toge, 5x paralyse) is a nice thing. A small nerf for a speed baton pass teams would be a Lunar dance addition, making Trick Room teams more viable. I haven't seen any good TR team without a good lunar dance Creselia... Nevertheless, I like the 1-season test idea, and hope we can have more season like this with some specific rules, like a no-legendary season, scarf togekiss ban, season, no weather changing abilities season, etc. /off top: where are word quests gone?

  31. The fact that baton pass gives speed buff from u-turn and volt switch puts this ability into the bugged category, with this said, this is a bugged move that gives advantage to the user which means it should be in the banned moves category until it works properly.

I also have a lot of experience with pokemon, because I have played gen 1-4 a lot.
