Hello guys, we are currently working on random battles and expect them to be released in near future (might still take 1-2 months or longer, depends on how it goes). With the random battles we will introduce a second ladder for it while the normal Ranked PvP ladder will (probably) change between OU and UU ladders. With this laddering on more than one server will be prohibited. But we are also uncertain about random ladder rewards. We want them to be low compared to OU/UU as you don't need to invest time in hunting, buying, training and movesets. That's why we would like to hear your opinions about it. Tell us what you think would be appropriated and please give us reasons for it!7 points

Random battles really promote the idea of not knowing what to play and how to play, because you just don't know. This i think is a good thing because then it lets players practise with different styles and develop more adaptation. to simply not play the same team. I like the idea alot Rewards i think should be about the same as normal ladder, maybe a bit nerfed in comparison for it though The one thing i am thinking about though, would rating for this ladder also contribute to guild ladder. As doing this would then promote guilds to have users who are good in both randoms and normal in order to get the most rating5 points

+1 , uu and random battle gonna make pvp more funny. i think rewards can be 100 pvp less than ou cause like u said , its more easy laddering cause u dont need to farm or train anyhting. But for my opinion , u could add uber pvp too, so funny too, and many pokes like ninja ash ,blaziken, traper wobufet ,legends like darkrai solgaleo, and more , could be usefull again, and gonna growth up the economy again.3 points

Why does there have to be a ladder/ladder rewards in the first place? Go with the idea of rewards based on activeness, meaning "quest/task" based rewards. Could split them into "daily, weekly and monthly" tasks and/or streaks. Daily Play 3 random battles (Reward: 1 PvP coin + 5 Ultra Balls) Win 1 random battle (Reward: 2 whatever the things are called that fully heal you, the green things) Gain 50 cumulative rating (Reward: 2 PvP coins) Weekly Play 15 random battles Win 7 random battles Gain 200 cumulative rating Monthly Gain over 200 rating Gain over 300 rating Gain over 400 rating Gain over 500 rating Streaks Do the daily task 14 days in a row to get X reward Do the weekly task twice in a row to get X reward People suggestion "just" 100 less PvP coins than the current system, special clothes or even anything close to the current system or let alone special mounts, nametags etc are completely missing the point. Random battles are for some quick non-thinking fun, without any time investment prior and should be for everyone. Hell it should be unlocked with 0 badges. You want to attract people to play the game, which is pretty evident, so you shouldn't restrict them in anyway. Make random battles available at 0 badges, 0 hours (they can't do anything with rewards till they reached 4 badges anyway). Also: "With this laddering on more than one server will be prohibited." Laddering = playing ranked, you really gonna prohibited that? Innovation over stagnation, ladders are an old system and will result in the same struggles the current one has lol2 points

More seriously, you have to know when a player can start a random battle, unlike the current ladder where you have to farm and buy the pokemons you want to play. Will it be from the 4th arena as for trades which would be a bit quick for my taste. Do we have to allow it from johto or be able to launch battles only in a building of sinnoh only for example. For the rewards I think it should be stepwise. 100/200/300 rating but nothing more.2 points

In my opinion the Random ladder should be implemented without rewards for a short time, to see if it works ok ,and what does it cause in the game. There are many multiples options for the rewards, but i think a good option could be like the new NPC that gives u prizes for pvp missions, as winning 5 in a week, or reach 100 rating. So the rewards could will not be exaggerated and people will not abuse this way to farms coins or rewards. And for the top 25 ladders, the total of pvp coins should be 20% of the normal OU ladder, cause u dont expend time or money trying to get decents pokes for pvp, or expending in the movesets or rerolls. As someone mentioned before, getting berrys would be great to, but not for each battle, maybe getting 1 berry after 2 wins or something like that And about the rotating between OU and UU, i think is a bad idea, not only for the pokes, i think many would stop pvpeing when the UU arrives for the ladder and the queue will be longer, so i think should be implemented separated from the OU ladder.2 points

Having only 25 "good" players that hog the top spots on both servers speaks for itself. I really never cared if people got 2 or even 3 accounts into the Top25 back in the day or if people like Pispi get 1 account on both servers onto Top25. Each their own, if the PvP communities on the servers are that small that 1 player can hold 2 spots then it is really on them. The "problem" isn't them, if you want a ladder spot, get good. If you want a competitive environment you want the best players to get the Top25 spots, regardless of how many spots they filled before. There are other problems that I could name like using alternative accounts (that is allowed thanks to Eaty) that are used to to "snipe" or just in general grief high-rated players due to the poor PvP activity at times (if nobody queues up, the game will put you against anyone who is in the queue currently). Guilds with their Q/G systems boosting themselves intentionally/unintentionally, screensharing your matches with your friends in VC & getting help, etc. All the stuff staff can't ban for, I wish we could have gotten rid of screensharing as a whole for the ladder PvP matches but lol The game should be innovative and not fall into stagnation. If you want some ideas: 1 PvP Ladder You can play on both servers and get rating, swapping servers doesn't effect your rating Good players might swap servers for "easier" games because gold might be less competitive, that thought many will have and it will balance itself out. Cap it at Top 35, not Top50 anymore. I think Eaty would like that as well to get less stuff into the economy but maintaining some form of "rewards". No more "double rewards" through double servers etc. Less work for staff, initially it would require a decent bit of Dev work but that is literally any "bigger" change to system that have been in place since 2015 You can suggest stuff endlessly about "how" it should be or what needs to change but generally speaking a portion will never be happy. Especially PvP players are one of the worst offenders in that regards, they whine about everything and everyone. Not all of course but a decent chunk.2 points

This Rule itself has to be elaborated/rework(reworded) 100% even if this suggestion inst implemented as server transfers made more commonplace. DISCLOSER I AM ABOUT TO MAKE OPINION BASE SUGGESTIONS! I do think people should be able to Battle on both servers using their main as wanting to expand their account on both servers shouldn't be punishable. Thats what i thought when someone else posted a similar suggestion as well, but looking through the past top 25's of the last 3 months we can see about 2-5 in both silver and gold ladders. So i propose 2 solutions that may work for both sides in this. Solution 1- The 200 Rating rule. What does this rule mean exactly? Well very simple. Every time you transfer if your rating is above 200 it automatically becomes 200. This would make PvP'ing in both servers troubling as now users will have to split up their teams/pokemon between 2 servers if they want to make it to top 25. Downsides Well simple people can just hunt/buy pokemon for each server to pvp with. Not to mention guild members would be willing to give out pokemon to help, Not to mention the annoying factor in it. Solution 2- Averaging the Ratings (this is going to be weird) Let me just give an example I a user on silver currently have 400 rating and my gold account is at 300. End of season boom im in 15th place in silver and 25th in gold. My solution would average out 400/300 but the only rating that would change would be the server i got the highest rating on, so in this case would be silver that would change. The average of 400/300 would be 350. Now my silver rating is 350 i am no longer in 15th place. Im in 27th on silver now but my gold account is still at 300 25th place on gold (this Doesn't increase since you should go up in rankings just by averaging due to rewards.) A weird Solution that might not work all the time looking back at the latest pvp top 25's this would upset a lot of people in top 1-4 place. People would think twice over "Is it worth it for me to go a higher rating on my silver account if my gold is just in 20th place? Should i pvp more on gold?" These questions will hopefully frighten people and make them do [Risk over Reward} thinking like should i go for first in silver? or should i get a middle place with my average? Downsides People could just pvp more evenly to get around this to try to get the same rating on both servers. This in turn gives them more chances to mess up and lose rating as well. (would annoy people) Overall- I Do not think people should ever be punished for wanting to expand their account as i said above. However i do see people getting annoy'ed seeing the same people getting top spots. I dont think we should punish them but i do think we should at least make it more annoying / skill base to get top spots in both servers. I wouldn't be suprised or even mad that they disallow people from doing this in the future as im mostly play on gold (i do play silver sometimes) This would even help me in the future as getting a top spot would become easier. But in the end ladders will look around the same as they do now. The same top people domination their respective servers with maybe a few new people each season. Thank you im going to sleep! PRO PvP Sets by Jorogumo Welcome to the PRO PvP Sets thread, where you can view detailed PvP sets for every viable Pokémon according to the PRO PvP Viability Rankings. This thread is still a work in progress and will need to be continuously updated in the future. Pokémon are listed based on their current viability rankings. Keep in mind that some peculiar or niche sets that may have specific or limited uses will be missing from the list, as the goal of this thread is to provide players with a useful resource of standard viable sets, as opposed to a fully comprehensive list of all possible sets. This is not the thread to discuss viability rankings (cf. the PRO PvP Viability Rankings for that purpose), I just needed a way to organize the sets better. Optimally, this list should serve as a PRO-relevant substitute for the OU analyses that Smogon makes every generation, because those are applicable to different metagames (i.e., ORAS & USUM) and may not be perfect for PRO PvP. The sets themselves will be kept short and simple to avoid confusing newer players with too many options at once. Other possibilities and alternatives will be mentioned in the description under each set, but I will not mention every single viable move and/or set because I want to keep this resource relatively standard and beginner-friendly. For example, Double Dance Reuniclus is a viable set, but I decided to avoid mentioning it separately for now, because the Toxic Spikes users currently available in PRO do not allow it to shine properly. I will, however, allude to it in the set description. I do not know when this resource will be finalized, so please be patient. The idea is we can exclude someone from the foreveralone command so we can only see certain players while using the command. The exception list could be from the friendlist,guildmates or a custom list of players. It would be so useful while doing group hunting with friends on a crowded map or doing trade in a crowded pc. Now, many of you may have been confused by the sly wordplay I added to the title, but the suggestion is simple: - Prohibit players to ladder on both servers And for all people wondering, this is not hard to do, one simple way is just to watch the results of top 25 ladder, and punish those who break the rule. It's simple, and how it's already done for two accounts, this time it just varies for one account by server. Which should be easier to find because they have the same name Why, on two questions, I see being asked. Why does it concern me, g3n3r4l, a low ladder, not very PvP skilled player, but can fend for myself when it comes to it. And the other question, why should this be added. To answer both, in recent months, the ladder has been littered with the same players on repeat getting the same rewards by doing the same thing as they always do, which is respectable, congratulations for grinding. The problem here, is that there are still many other people that try and ladder, and are almost able to get there, but in the end can't. Why can't they? Because someone else is on the ladder, logically. And who might this be, perhaps on of the dozens of people that have already been laddering on both servers. The outcome of this is simple, there will in turn be more players able to play in the Ladder tournament, as it will total to a maximum of 50, as neither server will have the same people laddered, and it will also prevent a single player from gaining double rewards. This will in turn deflate the PvP market, lower the economy's value on many things, and provide less PvP shop items to be sold in the masses from these players. Now considering there is already the PvP rule saying: Now what this says, is already clear. Players cannot ladder (Top 25) with 2 accounts. So how is that any different to different servers ladders. Players are free to transfer once every 30 days, which is ample time to ladder on one server, then transfer and ladder on the other.1 point

Okay okay okay, we've got a suggestion that can either make or break PRO PvP in a good or bad way. Very interesting. And you're a brave boy to suggest this one. I honestly don't want to provide my own personal opinion on this. Simply because I know that PvPers on PRO can be very... "sensitive" to changes. So, I'll just quietly +1 this and move on. I believe it is meant to allow players play in ranked in both servers at the same time, but with the difference being that at the end of the season, they are allowed to reach the top 25 only in one server. If that's the case, I don't see how that would make the ladder less competitive as you'd still be allowed to get a high rating in ranked on the other server. If you were referring to the potential discouragement the implementation of this rule could bring to the same people who ladder on both servers for the extra rewards/prestige, I think you're wrong to some exten as I doubt it would discourage all of them to continue playing on both, but in case it would, I'd definitely welcome it as we need more diversity, instead of running into the same people in the q all the time1 point

Hey, the money-losing penalty is part of the game. You beat NPCs you get money, you lose to NPCs you lose money. This will not be possible anymore after reconnect is implemented. Once you logout in a battle you'll log into the battle again. It's just a matter of time until this mechanic is outdated. I am not saying it's a perfect mechanic and I am always open to suggestions but completely removing it won't happen for the time being. We also capped the money you can lose to $50,000 for veterans that own millions. Users with small budgets lose 5% of their total money which can be obtained again fairly fast.0 points
